"fantasy or alt-history"

You've seen my post here:
roleplayerguild.com/topics/175432-end…

That is what i want the game to be.

But i actually think it might be better if you co-GM'd with Joltion. I will accept you as Emperor, but you must retain the power to assign budgets. This is essential to not being dethroned.
Sorry i havent posted recently. Hope you are doing well.

I've had overtime at work aswell as trying to buy peoples presents on black friday.
Can you elaborate on the post-ww1 game?

I like the idea of a ww1 alternate dimension nations game. Where the landmasses and races are slightly different but tech is mostly the same ala valkyria chronicles. I will accept extremely low powered magic in the setting (which is the reason for the existence of cannons.)

Would any of this fit into your idea?
Jeez i really am an old lump of coal... i was looking at this forum with disdain for months without ever even finding out what it was about.

Anyway this is actually one of the seeds i've been trying to water over the years; duelling and martial arts competition. So this may actually be my thing! I read some of Doc Doctors stuff and realised i've been making characters somewhat on the surface of it, similar to some of his builds. However i still have to learn some of the lingo, like what Meta is. In any case. If someone would like to take me up here are some builds which i can quickly re-assemble from my notes.

1.) WW1 fictional nation duel in no mans land between the trenches.
2.) Near-future Space duel in a boarding action of a starship that is breaking apart and on fire.
3.) Warhammer 40k duel w/ non space marine, non sisters, non power armour characters (We're talking RT, DH, OW, humans only). Arena to be decided. (this is the one i'd like to start off with most to just learn the ropes.)
4.) Cat Vs. Cat "this is my meat" (a joke one)

Thank you for your time.
@RomanAriaYes basically they are genetically modified humans that are basically their own species now. I could easily run them as humanoids.

"You seem very tripped up on what this guy said to you in a nation states game."

Tripped? Well you did ask... and i had to explain.

"Please don’t bring that baggage into my RP; I have 0 tolerance for real world or personal politicking in my games."

Do you mean pushing people to belive in your political ideology? I dont have any political ideologies so i dont do that. However i prefer it when players i interact with are logical.
@RomanAria
Well the dude literally called me a statist in a nation states game. So thats a bad sign for his ability to use logic.

He was basically throwing his weight around as GM and the thing is, i too am a GM (I've run 3 games on Roll20) so how long do you think im just gonna put up with that? He was expecting me to be a brown-noser in exchange for getting to play my facist nation however im not a facist so i don't really have any emotional needs to play them. If i was to brown-nose for the chance to play them then i guess that'd mean i was a real facist!?

What im trying to say is im a pretty good person and i don't need to brown-nose or put up with people throwing their weight around in order to still be a good person.

My faction is basically an evil human faction. So don't expect them to be comfortable to watch. You can even make them the big-bad of the local system and id be totally down with that.

I'll jump into discord later maybe, i have to go to work now.
Well it sounds a bit like Dr.Robotnik and Sonic and other 2D platformer games. Is it too hazardous for me to proffer forth the idea that there should be some kind of platform jumping mechanics in it?

Its been a footnote in my mind for a while that if one wishes one could create a dark realism version of the sort of things Sonic is about.

And sonic has some wicked awesome style in it. Like you could immediately style the different combat levels with inspiration from Robotnik bases. For instance theres an oil ocean zone in a factory. Factories have allot of automotive oil, so this makes sense. Oil is crazy dangerous as you cannot swim in it, so you will sink straight to the bottom. Its a fun level hazard.

Do you want to know my spooky version of the Sonic universe?

Well, Robotnik like to stick animals in robots and then use them as slaves. However there is a song from sonic 2 called "Scrap Brain Zone". Why did they do this? That implies that not only does he remove their brains, but the brains die over time and are scrapped. This idea arrived in my head after attending a lecture by Professor Kevin Warwick in London. Warwick is developing robots that use rats brains. With the rat brain stuck inside the robot the rat is somehow able to move around his small robot and do various things indicating it is acting as the controller. However the brain always eventually dies from viruses. Viruses of course cannot be killed by antibiotics and even the best asceptic technique the little basterds still find their way in and eat the brain. Just imagine what it must be like to be the rat!? It must be actually quite harrowing! They are the first beings able to experience what it must be like to be a robot! Someone like Robotnik would be able to connect you to some kind of rewards system so that if you do as he commands you get an orgasm or something. Most likely this would be in the form of a leisure activity. Which explains casino land and carnival land. Most likely you are connected to some kind of mega internet which your access to is only given as a reward. You will actually be a brave explorer of robot-kind and robot-experience, something akin to an astronaut, a robo-naut. Who cares if a pesky hedgehog must die? I can tell you now that most people are weak willed and would give in to this. Those who choose to protest and not work their machines would be given sensory deprivation. Only the strongest zen master would be ok with this. After a while it is a fact that your brain will turn into a vegetable. How much the worse so must it be if a virus or even the machine itself damages the brain in charge. Robotnik just requires a replacement for you and you go to the scrap brain zone. Your brain is locked in a jar with no sensory input from the robot. Maybe the surgical process that extracted your brain didn't entirely disconnect your ears. Or maybe you just learn after a while to distinguish a change in blood pressure as a sound nearby. Maybe you work out by trial and error there is still a muscle attached somewhere that you can move. Desperately you bang the muscle on the metal jar every time you sense a sound. Hoping that someone will save you. The brain in a jar theory is also related to a philosophical argument.

And this is one of those reasons on the list as to why i will buy a gun one day. Albeit it is an unlikely eventuality.
@Strange Rodent

Oh im not gonna tell people I'm a GM when I'm not. And i'd quickly tell them to not go confirming other people characters, jeez if they did something like that they'd immediately out themselves as not right for the game... i think.

I think the main issue is that the GM is asking for some tact in regards to "smack-talk" rather than being standoffish. Not gonna lie, the post in question did seem a bit too hostile/aggressive imo.

People are not always going to talk the way you want them to. I like people who build up a thick skin, its useful for survival.

You say tact and to be honest I'm pretty sure i have my tactic down. My tactic is honesty. If i modify my honesty too much it fails. This is called manipulation. And i despise it as a form of weakness. Im generally very good at logic too. Anyway enough of this. Im not going to respond to this question any more, it'll clutter up the RP.

Hi this has my attention. However i would like to know more about its PvP elements, is this a slow burner or not? Perhaps we shall only know afterwards.

In any case i was somehow bamboozled one day into playing a fascist space nation. I created them as a bit of a critique on fascism but it seems to have been far too plausible and scared some people and was kicked from the game. The GM specifically called me a "statist" even though I'm not in fact, (I'm more of an individualist). Anyway the idea has kept smouldering in my mind and has had further refinements, its even got a tiny amount of praise so well theres that.

In any case they are scary in the sense of how Starship troopers was scary to you as a kid the first time you saw it. But it was also cool because people think warriors are cool (and they are).

If youre prepared for Starship Troopers style spooky then here we go. My faction truly are monsters. However they are more like Samurai than Nazis.

The Nazis leader was an artist, and artists seek to be witnessed. And thats a little fruity.
@Theodorable

Wow i think this needs to win some sort of award for unconventional RPs.

Infact this is now a potential thing.
