When you are so emotional you are close to dropping from every rp you are in just so people won't have to deal with you anymore

Kat nodded. "Good. Fine. Then there shouldn't be any problems. My name is Katherine. Kat for short. And this is Grace."
She had turned her head to look at Grace, trying to comfort her. The baby wasn't crying anymore but she was still uneasy, not liking the tension in the air and a little scared of the stranger. Kat planned on ignoring the man until a certain name came up. She froze at the familiar name.
Ethan...?

No, she shook her head. It wasn't possible. A lot of people had similar names and Ethan was a popular one.
"Go and get them," she told him, bouncing Grace lightly. "I'll be here when you get back."

Going to the kitchen area of the house, she opened the cupboard and pulled out the last can of chicken noodle soup she had. God bless Campbell's soup and their high sodium content that made them last forever. She kept a fire burning on the stove, adding sticks to keep it going. Kat opened the can and dumped the contents into a pot. She winced at the pain in her stomach but ignored it. The entire can had to go to Grace. Hopefully the people squatting in her self-proclaimed house tonight would have extra food with them. And with more people around to lead the walkers away she would be able to actually go out and scavenge more.
She purposefully ignored the fact that sooner or later the supplies in the houses around her would run out and she would be forced to move on.

Once the soup was warm but not too hot, Kat sat the pot on the table and started feeding Grace who gobbled up to soup hungrily. Kat felt a pang of guilt. A good mother would never allow her children to get this hungry...
Not sure where to start with Lyona. I had an idea of her working out her frustrations at a failed mission by either tearing apart a training area / gym area or by beating the shit out of some new recruits, but I haven't decided which yet... both include her being a scary bitch though lol

Kat stepped back as the doorknob turned, tensing and raising the butt of the shot gun up preparing to strike if need be.
"There are no good people anymore," she said, her voice hollow with way too much experience for someone as young as she was. "Only survivors. And survivors do whatever they can to take care of themselves."

Grace had quieted to whimpers. Once the man entered he would see the large tears that bubbled in her blue eyes. He would also see the arms of her mother quivering. Kat was exhausted, not just from having been up nearly all night keeping Grace quiet to keep the walkers from finding them, but she was exhausted from having been on her own with a baby for so long. She didn't want to admit it to herself, but she was starting to lose hope for them. Running low on supplies and not able to safely scavenge meant their days were numbered.

In this state of utter hopelessness and fighting the growing desperation, Kat lowered the useless shotgun and stared the man down. "Give me some supplies and your group can stay the night. I need food and some other things. I'm not unreasonable. I'll only take what you can spare. As a moving group you can always scavenge more along the way. And no one touches my baby," she added, her voice laced with venom. "Those are my terms."

A twig snap on the other side of the door had her on alert. She would have given her left hand at that moment for some ammo. She said her left because she shot better with her right. Well, she couldn't shoot that well no matter what hand she used so it really didn't matter. Holding her baby in one arm she couldn't shoot the shot gun anyway, ammo or no ammo.
But the trespassers outside her door didn't have to know that.

Grace continued to whimper, just loud enough to break the heart of any person nearby unless they were pure evil. For her sake Kat could not let this escalate.

"We've got nothing for you to take. Just move along. Leave us alone," she said, her voice firm but laced with anxiety. Anyone with a keen ear would be able to hear her fear, not for herself but for her baby. She could only pray that however many there were of them that they would decide a lone woman and a crying baby were not worth their time.
And she was telling the truth. She was running low on supplies. She would have gone scavenging earlier but she wanted to give the walker horde plenty of time to move away before leaving the house. All she had were a few small jars of baby food and her bag with a few hygienic supplies plus a few clothes for her and Grace. Nothing a group of men, or anyone without a baby, could use. She supposed her matches and soap were valuable, but that was really it.
I took @josephb suggestion and Kat and Grace's house right where the Dana Point group have run into the girl with the truck
The yelling outside had Kat on edge. She hadn't looked, trying to keep them from seeing her in case they looked towards the house. She swore under her breath multiple times, the kind of swearing that would make a sailor blush. If those idiots didn't quiet down they would-

A scream tore through the house, echoing through the empty rooms and could be clearly heard from those outside.
"SHIT!" Kat shouted herself and raced into the kitchen area and scooped up Grace. Kat always tried to time it so that she was in the room with Grace when she awoke because if the baby woke up alone she got scared and screamed bloody murder until her mother appeared.
As she comforted the sobbing baby Kat knew there was no way the morons outside hadn't heard it. Holding her baby in one hand, she held up her shotgun with the other and went to the door. She could shoot, but she could slam the butt of the shot gun into anyone who tried to come through the door.

Grace was blubbering but had stopped screaming, large tears rolling down her plump cheeks.
"You assholes woke my baby," Kat snarled loud enough for anyone close to the door to hear. "I should shoot you for that alone. Keep moving or I'll change my mind and do just that!"

Kat was beyond pissed. When you were a mother NO ONE woke your baby.
I am waiting for someone to come across Kat and her baby in the abandoned house

All she could do was close her eyes tightly and nod, knowing he had to do this and hating it. If the world was perfect, if no one ever fought, if every person could just work together no matter their race or origin, then they could be together.

"I can't say goodbye to you," she said. "Please don't ask me to. Swear nothing will happen to you. Swear you will never die."

He pulled back and pulled out the ring and the pain in her heart increased. Tears streamed freely, though she made no sound. Her fingers closed over the symbol of his promise as he turned from her to leave. When he stopped and turned she closed the distance between them and kissed him. It was a gentle kiss, full of longing. When the kiss broke she placed her forehead against his, her eyes closed and her hands on his face. "Return to me."

If she had only known those were the last words she would say to him as she was : young, hopeful and in love.
For Tyme did not keep his promise.
And Lyona's heart turned cold and calloused with anger.

Why was she going? After last night she had sworn she was never going to see him again. She had cursed him, hit him, questioned, cried and finally, and shamefully, had begged. Nothing she said made any difference. He claimed to love her, yet he was leaving her behind.
He asked her to meet him at their spot. She refused to go. What else could he possibly have to say to her?

But her traitorous heart got the better of her, which it usually did. She found herself running to their spot only to find it empty. He hadn't waited for her. But then again, why should he after all she had screamed at him the previous night? Panicked she raced to the gate. Even if she hated him right now for leaving, she had to see him one more time.

"Tyme!" Lyona called as she spotted his form at the gate, readying to leave. His eyes lit up as they always did when they were together. The sight nearly brought her to her knee, the hastily patched barriers on her heart cracking and causing her to wince at the pain.
"I wasn't going to," she admitted, her voice shaking a bit, wanting to take his hand but afraid of what touching him might do to her. "Tyme..." she murmured, her eyes brimming with tears. "You're breaking my heart. Tell me what to say. Give me the words to make you stay. Please... don't go..."
Okay, I am sad but I understand. Don't forget me if someone drops!
