Harry Potter World RP

So...I'm interested but don't be surprised if I don't remember what all the spells do or who all the characters are.

Characters will be new ones (our own) and spells... well Hogwarts will teach you ;) right? (if you play a first year, you don't gotta know any spell beforehand anyway)

That's such a beautiful fond used! But I am sorry to have to remind you, at Hogwarts, unfortunately, such spells are not allowed. Most of the time at least...

Count me as interested as long as it's High Casual or better quality. I love the HP universe. ^^

I was gonna go with Casual to High Casual. You should be able to write a bunch of words to form a couple of sentences with a few details to make a lot of sense. ;)

@bishop I do remember that one! Though I think that means I'm dead now before the story starts :p unless someone loves me enough and it bounces off...then I just get a lightning scar.

Questions to everyone!

1) Is anyone interested in GMing the stuff? I would take over as the GM, if no one is interested, but then you guys will have to bounce after my whip ;) I am not a necessarily strict GM, I like to include people in decisions (as it shows here...), but I can get pretty tight about certain things (staying canon for example, not overpowering your characters in the means of power, popularity and development, ect)

2) I assume the setting being Hogwarts is set in stone. So would you guys prefer it to be any age (1st year to 7th year) or we all start at the same year (1st for example) and grow up together?

3) In what time would you want to play? Any time from the 'just opened the school Hogwarts' to '2017, right now, Hogwarts' is possible. I personally always prefer more of a 2017 setting.

4) Do you want the RP to include meddling from the GM as a kind of 'moderator' of a story / the grades, classes, events / bringing characters together through occasional, random story-based 'quests' or 'adventures' or the like? Or just leave it completely up to each character to form a random story, leave it completely free and see where it goes? Ps.: the story (if one is wanted) would never overshadow the choices / free will of a player, there'll always be enough room with me as a GM to explore on your own, throw in ideas or requests, discuss and disagree with me.

Currently re-reading the books, so this seems to be the perfect time to join an HP RP.

Harry Potter World RP

Hey, everyone.

I have had the need for a decent HP world roleplay for a bit now. The idea is to stay as close as possible to the given rules by JK (no changing of given facts, that means).

Is anyone interested to even rp in this world anymore? I am not sure if people are still into this, rp wise.

You can leave a suggestion / preference of the era you'd like to rp in, the place (Hogwarts, Ilvermonry, out of school (aka adult life), ect), everything that comes to your mind that feels nice to you or that you prefer. Or even stuff you dislike (dislike the golden trio era as a rp setting? Tell us.)

Firstly, this is a simply call to see if people are still interested and therefore has no concrete plot, time, setting, rules or whatever.

I would also love to know if you would be up to gm it or co-gm it.

Some loose ideas from me:

- Hogwarts (most obvious choice)

There would be discovering your house by the sorting hat (the older students get a house from the gm as well, whoever chooses to take upon that role). I find it more realistic that way. We can write a summary of our character's personality and where it'll take us.

- Adult Life

We choose a character's job, maybe even built a family / married life with someone else. We all live close by each other (same town!) so we have to interact with everyone. Even family rivalries are able. Jobs are gonna be incliuded into the plot, not just "side notes" to mention.

On that note it would also be possible to have a more fleshed out plot about 2 or 3 families that have a backstory and are rivals but have to encounter each other on a daily basis. Maybe two of the adult kids of the families can be married and are trying to somehow get some piece into it. I'm sure there's much opportunities with a plot like that.

- Group of Aurors / MACUSA Body For Regulation and Protection of Magical Creatures

A group of circa 5 work in the same team and face challanges at work and private life. (This would be for a rather small group though). Finding criminal wizards or rescuing and saving magical creatures.

Harry Potter RP?

Hello everyone!

I've been craving a Harry Potter based RP with OCs for a long time now. And I wanted to know if anyone else was interested in rping in this world.

My only issue is that I'd like to participate a nice rp without being the GM. So my question is: would anyone be up to GMing such as rp? Or do you know a nice HP RP to join?

I know this question is a little odd. I really want o participate such a RP without GMing it.

Davina is a loyal person. Loyal to her beliefs, to people she believes in and likes and to her own self. She despises apple pie and it's pure existence. Davina will take what she likes and she never apologises. She is a tough girl and likes to enjoy life, whatever that might mean in the very moment. She is not afraid to kill or hurt someone, if she feels it's necessary.

Although being cruel at times, she has a real love for her little brother. Davina has her own morals and she sticks to them. If someone will make fun of others for their disorders or fears, she will most likely end their miserable life. She likes to practice justice herself and will do so in the cruelest ways. Davina will only then be trustworthy once you fully won her for yourself, which means to convince her that your morals are honorable and your actions come from a good place.

She is good at most physical actions, can handle any gun and is a pro at combat. But she is very tempered and easily angered which makes her predictable. She has a big ego and will not admit when she was wrong and therefore not give up when it's time to do so. Often she overestimates herself due to her ego and her fighting skills, which has already led to many broken bones and open wounds that now have healed.

She is very adventurous and will try anything that gives her an adrenaline kick.

Davina Culebros grew up with a father, a mother and a little brother. Her family used to live the "American Dream", or they pretended to. While their mother cooked and did everything to make their father happy, their father was a corrupt cop and didn't spend much time with his family. Davina soon rebelled when she got into High School age. She ditched classes, ran away from home, spent time with the "wrong kind" of friends. Her father was furious, but Davina didn't care. In her eyes a corrupt cop did not have the right to preach what's right and wrong. The girl despised her mother for acting as though everything was fine in their family and for closing her eyes from all the wrong their father did. She hated her for simply believing all the lies her father told, hated her for pretending that a good apple pie could fix everything.

Her little brother soon emulated her, looking up to her for a certain while and having a strong feeling of sibling love towards the girl. He too went on the "wrong track" and got hit for his misbehavior by their father. Several times he and his sister ended up in prison over night - sent there by their own father to make them "correct" again. Neither of them cared.

At the age of 16 Davina ran away from her hometown and never saw her parents again. Though she did see her brother every now and then and learnt that he too had left home early. While Davina had ditched school and never graduated High School (though she is smart enough!), her brother had left home at the age of 14, not being able to live in that family anymore with Davina gone. Davina became the leader of a gang known for their loyalty to their leader and their morals and for being undefeated. Her little brother joined the gang once he had found his sister and after a while Davina gave the leadership over to him and disappeared. No one knew where she went or why and hasn't heard from her ever since she left with nothing but a bike, a knife and a single gun.

After leaving the gang for her own reasons, Davina created herself a new life. She let her hair grow and hid her usual leather jacket and black badass clothes far away. She started to build a new life, got a job here and there to survive until she settled in one town as a bartender. The money was bad and so Davina got convinced by her boss - who heard her sing while cleaning up before closing time - to get up on stage for a little perfomance in exchange for a bit of money. He was a nice guy and wanted to help the girl out, who he knew was out of money all the time, but Davina would never let him borrow her money. She wanted to make it on her very own. After all she took the opportunity to sing and a one-time-thing turned into a regular one.

Davina is living alone, no friends, no closer contact to anyone. Not even her boss - who might be considered the one closest to her - knows where she lives or what she is doing outside of work hours. The girl is trying to find a way to control her temper and forget her past. She is doing boxing and fight clubs every now and then to just 'hit something or someone'.

Still... the smell of applie pie might cause you to be sent to heaven sooner than you thought if around this woman.
