Bio

First, a poem, about my ego -

I'm not just smart guys,
I'm a MENSA,
So healthy I'm made of Polenta,
Not expensive, and, I taste great,
I'll help you lose weight, lames can't hate.
I'm like a boat, the boat's ship-shape,
Wish we could date, i'm so tip-top.
I'm magic and amazing, and I won the Civil War,
Singlehandedly, for the North, so hip hop.
You gotta get me, and, get me,
Then geddit and geddit again,
Get a dozen of me and you'll be buzzin' like a bee hive.
I'm like an ancient demi-god,
You wanna leave me little offerings,
all the mortal imitators gotta go,
I'm hotter than a habanero pepper in a lava flow.
Without me you're lame and afraid,
But now you get laid,
Now you get paid.
I'm better than competitors,
I'm spreading like an epidemic,
and you better get me or you're gonna get AIDS.

Rosa took the lead across the lobby and up the stairs to the hive of apartments that rested above them. They passed by their two comrades who were guarding the lobby. They were talking about hockey or something. The climb to the missing man's floor wasn't a long one. Mr. Black and Rosa spoke little as they climbed. He suspected that she was in a focused mood. Investigations were always a time to be on one's guard after all. However, Atter had been to places were even the hardest gang member would cry his eyes out.

Soon enough they were knocking on doors and flashing badges. It was an odd feeling. Usually he was the one getting badges flashed at him. It was nice to be on the other side. he got to pretend he was one of the good guys. There would be less ability to throw a few hooks into the sides of uncooperative heads, but, there seemed to be less need for such an action in general. The opening words of the conversations all seemed to be the same. In just a few door knocks the words were a meaningless mantra. Maybe he would try to meditate later on those words. So many mystics meditated on the words of ancient sages and none of them had really transcended this mortal plane. It seemed just as likely that he could achieve enlightenment working the words "Hello, sir or maddam. I am Agent Richard Black, US Marshals Service, we have a few questions about David Jimenez. Would you mind giving us a hand?"

The two agents knocked on two doors. They seemed nice, nice enough anyway. They were the type to answer the door for the police but had little to say. They seemed nervous, maybe even something was making nervous to speak with the authorities. Black knew that feeling. He had a similar feeling on most of the time. The was a clever art of telling the police a pile of bullshit while never saying a single thing. It made him think of his time spent around the gangs of his youth. He filed that information away. These people weren't snitches, because after all, snitches got stitches.

The third door was a welcome surprise. Not only was the young woman who lived there rather perky and inviting, going so far as to invite the two agents in and offer them coffee. Atter, of course, took the offer. He could always use more stimulants. Rosa refused, not even enough sense to take the offered coffee and just not drink it. You did not refuse hospitality, it was just rude. This young woman was chatty, too chatty to be anything aside from the popular girl in high school and the 'pep-leader' in her college. She informed the two agents that she was in fact in college and just about everything else going on in her life. Stormy, the girl's name was, also seemed to be a bit of a gossip. Good, they were the best. She had taken a special interest in the strange goings on of Mr. Jimenez and all the other neighbors around her. She informed that Ahmed had moved out after an episode when David had began to scream in some odd language she didn't understand. Black had a hunch about what language David might have been speaking if he scared someone named Ahmed so much that he moved. Yes, Ahmed would be getting his own special visit. After the meeting in the diner of course, maybe after a brownie concrete as well. He loved those terribly sweet things. The door after Stormy's was just another repeat of the no-snitching clause that seemed to have infected these people.

Black turned to Rosa with a sigh, "I think if I go check out Ahmed's old apartment and you keep knocking we might make some progress." the younger woman mirrored his exasperated sigh and nodded. The two of them split up. Black stood in front of the vacant apartment and reached into his pocket, grabbing his lock-gun. He knew the placed had been vacated, but, it sounded like it had been left in a hurry. Maybe something was left behind. Black stuck the end of the lock-gun in the lock when he heard a shout from the floor below him. His hand stopped dead in the lock. Why would someone be screaming? The yell was also cut very short. The lock gun slid from the key hole with a metallic scrape and Atter placed it back in his pocket. He moved to the stairs, reaching into his sport jacket and unclasping the button of his shoulder holster. He thumbed the safety off but did not draw. Instead he stood at the entrance to the stair well. He took a deep breath and stepped through the door and into the stairs. He walked carefully up the concrete steps and to the floor where Rosa would be. He pushed open the door, he did not see her. "Damn." he whispered to himself. The sounds of bass and harsh lyrics could be heard drifting from one of the closed doors in the hall. 'some niggas wanna head blast, cuz I run with the red rags.' the chorus repeated. "Tech Nine. Bloods then." Atter muttered to himself as he approached the door. He placed his ear to the wall beside the door and listened, it was difficult to hear anything over the thumping bass, in fact, impossible. However, Rosa was gone. He flipped out his dedicated coms burner and sent Rosa a quick text. 'Wer u @, boo?' he stepped away form the door and back into the stair well. He waited, waited, waited, buzz. He pulled the phone to his eyes, 'got a flat b ther soon.' Atter closed his eyes. He opened them and sent a text message to the rest of the team. 'Rosa captured. Taken by Bloods, most likely. Comms from her are compromised. Advise course of action. I suggest we make it look ghetto and gangsta. ;)' He dropped the phone back into his pocket. Just when he was starting to like that girl she went and got herself grabbed by a gang known for it's distaste for police.

Should have it up before 22:00 USMT. @Leidenschaft
Okay, I'll get the post up soon. Probably today.
@Leidenschaft Okay, if something like is doable it can be done. I PM'd Survivor and he said I could drum up the post so he didn't have to worry about it. All good?
@Leidenschaft @The Survivor
We could do something like that. Having one of the team killed though would put a pretty heavy extra bit of narrative onto the story though. At least, this early it would. Would that be doable? I'll shoot Survivor a PM to discuss the possible solutions.
I have placed myself in a great number of rps and I do not think I will be able to commit to this one to a proper degree. Thank you for the work, I hope you guys have a blast! @Jbcool
This foe had incredible power. H'daru could feel his connection to the Dark Side just as well as he could feel his own connection to the Light. It was like being too close to a transistor when the two clashed. He could feel the pulsing and pulling of the Force. He would not be able to kill this dark thing easily. Perhaps not at all. His senses did give him some information though. This thing needed it's mask in some way. A strike to the head would surly kill the Sith so it was not a bad idea to try and strike high no matter what the situation. H'daru steeled himself as the raging Sith bore down on him. H'daru threw himself backward and assumed his usual one handed Makashi stance. Meagr came in inhumanly fast with his crossing strike, H'daru parried the blow, letting it slide off his blade and off to the side. As expected, the Sith redirected his blow and turned the cut in from the side. H'daru gave over to the Force and reacted preternaturally quickly. He directed the blow up and over his head in a semi-circle. As the parry reached it's apex the Knight switched off his lightsaber. The sudden loss of contact threw the Sith's flow off. H'daru twisted the hilt of his saber forward as the green blade sprang back into existence, filling Meagr's vision with searing green light. The Sith lurched backward from the thrust, reacting through the Force more than natural ability. The saber missed it's killing stroke but sheared the mast nearly in two on his face. H'daru brought his saber down to parry the expected afterblow as he pushed himself backwards with a Force powered jump. The impact of the Sith's afterblow at the start of his jump threw him off course. The Knight righted himself in midair and landed a few feet from the door to the gardens. He slammed his hand into he panel, it read his signature, and, the door hissed open. The Knight wheeled inside the doorway as a blow from the enraged Sith tore the wall panel to slag.

The gardens were a beautiful triumph for the Jedi attendants. Exotic plants of all kinds grew in stunning patterns in the center of the massive room. The entire garden was ringed with arched buttresses that separated the garden from the walk way around it. The roof was open to the elements here and the sound of the raging air battle could be heard now with nothing between them and the two dueling Force users. H'daru leaped into the air, landing deftly on the edge of one of the arches. He slashed a section of the arch free and sent it on it's way toward the Sith with a helping Force push. The Knight leaped from the arch and landed in a crouch with his saber silenced. He waited. Now all he needed to do was wait. The reinforcements were here and soon these Sith would fall under the heel of the Republic. Time was his ally, not their;s. H'daru sent his blade to life with a crackle as Meagr entered the garden proper. The Jedi sent a powerful blow toward the nape of the Marauder's neck from behind, the bow was dodged swiftly, before H'daru launched himself away from the creature again, placing many plants between the two of them, breaking line of sight. Delay, delay, delay. The thought was a chant in the Jedi's mind. He extended his senses and sought the presence of the Sith while using his powers to conceal himself from the other's Force sight.
@Heap241 Oh yeah! The gang is gonna smash them boars doooooooowwwwwwn!
Serigan stood. Upright, proud, and grinning, as the red haired woman gave him a dressing down. He'd been yelled at before by men and women far scarier than this little Kilie. He did take her words to heart though. He might act aloof when it came to people lecturing him, but, he understood what she was really saying. She was proper roughed that Serigan had disrespected her. She was letting him know that she wasn't one of the birds that you could pepper with flowery gibbers and expect them to drop their skirts. Good. He would have been almost offended if she had been so easily taken in by his performance. He followed her exit with his gaze, making no further comments. He knew she needed time to wander off, besides, the old fella seemed interested. Serigan tipped his head to the side to better appreciate Mable's exit and then turned his gaze to the older man, still grinning. "'course I'll carry 'ybags." Serigan reached out and grasped the top of the bag and swung it over his shoulder with a thump, "Ain'about t'let y'struggle a'fer askin' fer y'help, eh?" Serigan let out a little laugh. "See?" he pointed to his head again with his cane, "Told'y Ol'Cuttah has the touch. Y'ready t'join up. T'Kilie'll join if y'do. Boom, all three champs." the old gang leader adjusted the bag and looked down the road to the guild. "Now, les'go get'chee that reward, eh? Then us three can go russtle up s'm bacon. " Serigan laughed at his own joke as he began to walk with the older man, "Name's Serigan, as it suits ya. C'n call me Ser, or, Cuttah, if'n y'like. Wha'they call you old Knife?"

Serigan walked back to the guild with Pescal. He chatted with the old man. He kept his tone pleasant and never pried into the old man's past. He didn't need to. When men of his age showed up somewhere that is the domain of young folks and killers you knew what kind of history they had. If Pascal wanted to tell Ser it would be his decision. The gang leader didn't need to know. Wouldn't help him fight or drink, so, it would remain the old man's business. Serigan chatted about easy things. Food, women, drink, and the guild. Safe topics for all involved. After all, he wouldn't want this Old Knife knowing that just a few countries over there was a price on Serigan's head that you could retire on. Not that people like Ser or Pascal could ever bring themselves to retire.

The gang leader stepped into the main hall of the guild with his usual swagger and stepped up to the guild administrator's counter with the tell-tale beat and rhythm of his weapons and cane on the hard floor. He swung the bag of weeds from his shoulder and held it out for Athena to see. "Ol'Pascal and t'red Kilie don'pulled a'mess'a weeds off'n t'farm. best'a pay'em f'the 'ard work." Serigan placed the bag carefully on the floor and leaned his elbow on the counter, waiting for Pascal to complete his business with Athena. Serigan's blue eyes flicked back to Athena. "Not'a'mention, I went and snatched'y paper off'n board. Sorry mum." he shrugged, "I needed a prop t'show th'fellas at the farm." Serigan pulled the crumpled paper out and placed it carefully on the counter. He tried futilely to smooth the page out. "T'fellas, Pascal, the red Kilie, and ol'Cuttah here, wou'like t'take t'contract fer t'boars. Easy-peasy, business done." the large man knocked on the counter with his large ring and smiled at Athena. "Now, like'I said when I rushed off a'fore. I's thinkin' Sammy if'n tha'be right wi'you f't'first kid. Is'a good name. Strong if'n ee's a boy an'cute f'a girl, right?"

@Heap241 @karlettto @Masterkeun
@Heap241 I will do that in the future. I may have gotten a touch too excited for my own good! Also, I knew Ser wouldn't be getting a reward for the job, honestly, he wasn't trying to help. Just get them to come slammajam some boars with him to make the real cheddah. :D
