A Chronicle Of Man Over Beast

Hello friend, my name is Linus Gerant, and I have written for you a book unlike any other. Within these pages I have written a guide to a world of wonders which even the bravest of hunters do not even dare to seek, I however, hunt these beasts down with content as I do not fear them; many times I have come to death and yet here I sit, ink to paper and spitting in the face of death whilst telling the tale. And I will tell of my travels if you read on, but keep one thing in mind if you do: Everything you read in this, everything I speak of, I speak of from experience.

In each account of each Beast, I have lived through to the end, I make nothing of this up from imagination, all of it true and set in stone, and in each I will write of the times I have encountered the characters of these tales. I give you my word of honor that this is all true, I have went through it all, which is of course why I am writing this book: Not to boast or to flaunt my merits, but to let it be known. For as I write this, I can safely say that I am not long for this world, but that is a story not for this day, so gather around and stay awhile, enjoy yourself. And if you find this after I am gone, it is yours to keep.

Spectres

Tall, towering ghostlike people that own the city of ecthime, the spectres are a civil race that pride themselves on various cultural acts, such as art, construction or swordsmanship. The spectres are a fine race that appear to have ghostlike skin of a pale aqua shade. They commonly sport silver hair, though it is not uncommon to see a brown haired or even black haired spectre roaming ecthime.

Ecthime is a city, but larger than a kingdom, it is deep within the densest forests, only once you get through them can ecthime be seen, from a distance it looks no bigger than a town, but when you are at its gate, it is no smaller than the greatest kingdoms, some say the angels offered a piece of the afterlife to it, others say it was created by magic, but in reality, it was built by the greatest minds of its race, the first spectres to settle down here banded together and birthed a type of architecture unlike any other ever seen
