About

Blue Demon || Female || Older || Ace

I go by Blue, Demon or BD. Or even Hey You if it's clear enough that you're talking to me. XD I prefer Blue or Blue Demon. And no, I didn't choose "Blue" because I'm sad. It's my favorite color. (And now you know.)

Also, I just discovered DMC and now I'm Dante trash.

These are the voyages of the starship Orion. We will continue to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no one has gone before.

  • Respect the other players.
  • If there is a problem, take it to me (or another GM)
  • Please don't spam.

About:
The year is 2734 and the ongoing war with the Dominion is in full swing. The Federation and the Klingon Empire have entered a cease fire to join forces against the Dominion. The Dominion have allied with the Cardassians and taken over Deep Space 9 and the Bajoran system including the Bajoran wormhole. So far the Empire and the Federation have only suffered losses in their encounters with the Dominion. The worst was when the Seventh Fleet tried to stop the incursion in the Tyra system which resulted in the loss of 98 ships.

However, the Federation, with Klingon assistance, is mounting an attack to retake Deep Space 9 and the wormhole. The Federation can't afford to lose or else Vulcan will fall to the Dominion. Already the fleet there is nearly defeated. Overseeing the attack are Captain Benjamin Sisko and General Martok. The Fleets slated to be involved were the Second (from Vulcan), Fifth and Ninth (Comprised of Klingon ships).

We are not involved. USS Orion is currently being utilized as an escort ship for Ambassador Spock as he continues his work with the Romulans.

Goals:
As a GM my goal is to introduce fun, new environments (with a few nods to the TV series and movies). I welcome input and suggestion for directions the RP can take. This will be partially sandbox, I wont force direction if all the players take initiative, but I'm not afraid to be rather heavy handed if I think the player run direction is floundering.

I do have a first arc planned, but it's malleable. Things never run as planned.

Character Information:

Please do not post your CS in the tab until I have OK'd your sheet. Elsewise it's automatically rejected. If your character is accepted please don't use hiders (unless there is a photo that is abnormally large) in the CS tab.

You are allowed more than one character. You can have as many as you can handle (Unless it gets out of hand).

How I'm choosing characters going for the same position:
  • If I have two finished characters who both want the same position I'll decide based on their skills and will choose the character that will benefit the ship most. The remaining character will be allowed to be under them.
EX: Two characters vie for the Chief Medical Officer. Character B gets the spot. Character A can be either a nurse or just a regular Medical officer.
  • Person A's first character is the Helmsman and A wants their second character to be Chief Engineer. However person B wants their first character to be the Chief Engineer. I would give the spot to person B because they don't have a prominent position yet.
Giving this a push to the top.
Great post, @Blue Demon. My favourite post of yours so far. I especially liked the descriptive elements.

Thanks. I try my best. :)
@Veridis QuoAnd you just gave me more to read. Haha.

I hate the auto correct on my phone. D:
Please allow me to get over the fact that Cardassians is way too much like Kardashians.

It gets me every time

I guess you're allowed. Have you gotten over it yet?

;)
Kyle Lancaster

Kyle gasped, waking suddenly in his bed. His pjs were plastered to his body by a fine layer of sweat. He panted as he laid there staring at the white ceiling. He couldn't hear his roommates moving around. Which meant they were still sleeping. Kyle slowly sat up, peeling himself off the sheets. A quick check to his clock told him it was only three in the morning. This wasn't the first night Kyle had lost sleep.

The dream was pervasive. Aiden was standing there, holding a man and lasering off his arm. Kyle swallowed thickly against the need to vomit. Even in his dreams he could still smell burning flesh. Hear it as it sizzled and parted from bone. Hear the screams of the victim. Consciously he knew it was all simulated. Knew it was fake. But he hadn't been prepared for how real it felt. How it froze him to the bones, unable to do anything.

Kyle barely remembered the session ending as everything blacked out. At first he though he had passed out. But the backup generators had kicked on and they were removed from the A.R.C. building. Classes had all be cancelled due to the damage done by a falling alien of all things. Kyle had returned to his dorm room. But left with his thoughts proved to not be the best idea. Thankfully Julian didn't mind having Kyle hang out with him.

Over the next few days Kieran had even sought out Kyle and the two were friends again. It earned him the ire of his three roomies, but Kyle didn't care. They were terrified of them anyways. Kyle snagged a towel and a change of clothes and headed to the showers. When he returned it was nearly four. Yet he didn't feel like sleeping. Instead he pulled out his journal and began writing.

Kyle was so caught up in his task he jumped when his alarm went off. He returned his journal to it's hiding spot, grabbed his book bag and headed to the mess hall. He wasn't the first to arrive and like always, there was a scene going on.

Mailsi rolled out of bed with a groan. She could hear Sugar in the next room, also getting read. Mailsi was never a morning person. She was nocturnal by nature. Something not even Corrigan could rid her of. The white haired girl tossed her pillow at her phone which continued to buzz obnoxiously. Naturally the pillow didn't have any effect. Other than to make Mailsi's rest less comfortable at it's absence.

When Mailsi finally stumbled out of her dorm room an hour later, she still looked tired though presentable. She was dressed as the "We Can Do It" poster girl from WWII. Sugar had gone ahead. Apparently she was meeting her date and couldn't wait. Mailsi still didn't have a date. Maybe she should ask Amethyst? Would the girl say yes? And if she did, would she think Mailsi wanted her that way? It was never this complicated in Ireland.

Anyways Mailsi shouldered her messenger bag and headed down to the mess hall. As she walked, she thought more about the dance and mentally sighed. She knew she didn't have to go, but she was supposed to be making an effort to be apart of the student body. Or so Aunt Kara had lectured her about. Apparently just hanging out with the Irish was not acceptable. It made sense, having more people was like having more guides on How Not to Turn Evil.

Mailsi had barely made it to the mess hall when she noticed a few people standing and pointing at someone turning gold. The teen heaved a great big sigh and headed over. Do good. She could just hear her mom speak in her head. Right, be a good person. Mailsi grabbed a hold of golden kid's arm and pulled him away from the lookie-loos. He was obviously panicking, which was leading to him losing control of his powers.

"Take a deep breath yeah?" Mailsi told him.

Her voice must have caused him to notice her because his freak out worsened as he began to babble. His tirade ended in Latin, which was what Mailsi used when she spoke next.

"<You're okay. You're safe. No one's going to hurt you. Just breathe. In and out. Focus.>" Up close it wasn't hard for Mailsi to put two and two together. This was the alien that had caused the power outage. Was he really supposed to be running around by himself? Or had he escaped his escort and was now freaking himself out by running wild? Whatever the reason, Mailsi couldn't leave him alone. Not when he was such a wild card.
2) Sam is bilingual, and he can understand and speak every language of the universe fluently (probably should've mentioned that before, oh well.)

That's something they have in common then. Woe to anyone trying to follow that conversation.

Since everything is what I thought, I can just port over my pre-written post.

EDIT:
And up. Had to get onto my computer instead of my phone to do it though. Haha :D
@Wade WilsonI'd love Mailsi to be the student who helps Sam in your post. Just a few questions first.

1) Where are you? Are you still in the dorm?

2) Does Sam speak any other languages other than Latin and English?
@RumikoOharaI'm sorry to hear you feel that way.

If you change your mind, you know where to find me :D

"I hear you're looking to put back on the costume." The male's voice on the other end of the phone call chuckled.

Jesse frowned at her cellphone, then lifted it back to her ear. "Word travels fast." She agreed to nothing. The CEO might be blond, but she was anything but dumb. Still, the person who had called didn't seem to be bothered at all. There was another laugh before he spoke again.

"I can be there in twenty since I'd rather not do this over an unsecured line Ms. Chambers."

Jesse hesitated. In the lull caused by it, the man spoke again. "I'll see you then." And the line went dead. Jesse jabbed her finger at the phone and pulled back up the call history. The number was still blocked. The old woman sighed and pushed her intercom button.

"Yes Jesse?" The clear voice of her secretary came over the line.

"Get me Seth." Jesse lifted her finger off the button. Sarah was a good girl and was used to Jesse's terse requests. The young woman might have only worked for Jesse for less than a year, but the twenty year old gum snapper was the best secretary she had had.

The Present

Jesse felt self conscious as she edged closer to the three combatants. Her flashy costume was not meant for stealth, or hiding anything really. She wore more going swimming. As she moved closer she heard a female voice shouting about swinging. It was obviously directed to the behemoth. Jesse paused as she watched the woman reach for a box then fly off.

Jesse took a small breath. Okay, flight. People fly. You're Jesse Quick. You fly! Of course people fly. You worked with people who flew. Get over it. Never in her life had she felt so old. Never had she felt more alive. The comms in her ears interrupted that feeling.

"The package is off the train and moving rapidly." One of the Nerds said rapidly.

Another piped in with: "Sending coordinates to your visor."

A small line appeared and traced the flight path the woman had took. Jesse spared one last glance over at the remaining two combatants. The large one was screaming, upset and agitated. Should Jesse leave them together? They were obviously not friendly. Jesse turned her attention back to them. The smaller one was dressed in a cape.

"Oh crap!" The head Flasher, Dave?, cried. "That's Batman!"

"It's getting away!" Another Nerd informed her, slightly hysterical. From the sounds coming through the comms, all the Nerds were freaking out. Flashers.

Jesse hesitated for another moment before leaping off the train. If that really was Batman, and Jesse didn't have any cause to disbelieve Daniel(?) about it, he didn't need her help.

Jesse didn't even have to think to match her speed to the train's as she paced it for a second. She took another deep breath as she concentrated on her movements. The world seemed to slow down as she focused. It had been a long time sine she flew. She hadn't expected this day to be so exciting. Jesse felt her muscles and concentrated on moving even faster as she pulled away from the train, moving faster and faster.

Jesse felt the familiar thrill and stomach turning wrong-ness when her left foot failed to touch the ground. She swallowed and pushed herself to run even faster, leaving the ground behind. Soon there was nothing but air under her. As she gained a good pace, she allowed herself to concentrate less. In her ear the Flashers were still squawking. Without any trouble she ignored them for the visor. Jesse was quickly closing in on the woman who had taken the box.

As the old superhero closed in on her goal she was able to make out the other's woman costume. Or rather lack thereof. She was dressed in what looked like a pink swimsuit that had been mauled by a shark in a porno. Still, Jesse recognized the costume with the ring. A Star Sapphire. As far as Jesse knew they weren't the bad guys and worked with the Green Lanterns. Apparently this one didn't get the memo.

Jesse gained even more ground on the woman and reached out to snag the box.
