@SepWhelp, since I've now been abandoned I'll work on finishing up Ivy's hunt for her daughter after I write my Cap post (is all planned, just not written) after I finish my other Cap post (on another site) and after I finish my post for a PM Rp. Whew *Wipes brow*

So hopefully sometime this afternoon? I had massive insomnia last night so I feel a little jet lagged, but I love you guys so much, I'm gonna work anyways.

Well, I rather enjoyed this movie. But I also enjoyed movies such as The Mummy and Blade Runner. So there's that. Though I can't add Lawnmower Man to that list.

And as for the dream not tying into the plot of BvS, I'd agree with you. Instead it's tying into the larger plot. Which I'd take over small plot any day. That fact that it means Synder has a larger agenda means a lot to me. As for the plot of the first movie, I though it was rather apparent. Lex v Supes really. Bats and WW were just side characters in the Soap.

But I think we're going to have to agree to disagree.

My Thoughts

I think that was actually a glance into the Earth 2 universe. Zack Snyder has mentioned the existence of the multiverse already, so its plausible. Some reasons I believe this. 1. Superman is an evil clone on Earth 2; something Flash mentioned when he appeared through the portal. 2. Darkseid invaded Earth 2. The omega symbol and parademons make his coming obvious. 3. The destroyed earth. There's no way Snyder is going to bring about the apocalypse in his main filmverse. that would screw with the rest of DC's movies for the foreseeable future, something I'm sure Warner Bros. doesn't want to commit to. 4. Flash's costume reminded me of New 52 Jay Garrick's.

I'm not sure if I'm willing to say that Superman in that universe is an evil clone. It had more of the Injustice vibe to it. Especially after he said that Lois died. So that's what I think happened. Though I cannot deny the Nu52 Earth 2 parallels that were extremely apparent.

Though if it was a "future" even that they have to advert, and not an alternate universe (depending on your views on such things) it is possible it could occur in the main film verse but instead is stopped. Which would resolve that problem quite nicely. Though it makes me strongly believe that Darksied will probably show up in the next movie. Which will be interesting to see.

But geez. I'm currently like this:

I love cookies and hints in my movies. And this one didn't fail to deliver.

Whatever the dream sequence was, it was narrative-ly idiotic and had no reason to be in the film. Also, the dream sequence leading into another dream sequence was so dumb

I really liked that though. It was nice and trippy. And could you really say it was a dream sequence both times? Because when he woke up for the second time paper was still floating through the air. Dun dun dun. The paper made me very happy.

Just saw BvS. 7/10

I have not read anyone else's reviews.When I wrote this I had not. I have now. See bottom for addition(s).

Initial thoughts:

1) Called it. Batman being unmasked by Supes = a dream sequence. You can't see it, but I just fist pumped.

2) Wait. Is that a gun? Like a gun gun? Really? Really? Did we just pull a MILLER's Dark Knight?! FRANK freaking MILLER?
That seriously bugged me. All the death and gun violence by BATMAN. I just... it's just, Batman's cool enough he DOESN'T need guns. He's that freaking awesome. In the end I decided that this Batman is from a different universe. It's now MY canon that they'll have a cross over with the real batman and Batfleck will get chewed out for using guns. Crisis solved.

3) WW kicks butt. My biggest complaint about the BvS trailers were that they made WW out to be a Cap analog, mainly with the shield placement and all that jazz. (No. I'm not going to recap that argument here.) But I'm glad that seeing the fight scene actually made her NOT a Cap analog and true to WW instead. They didn't quite do her justice (it never could in a movie not about her) but it did well for her first big screen appearance.

4) Lex. Where do I start with Lex? I really loved his rendition. At first. Lex was creepy. Just a little off. Not so much that you'd immediately label him psychotic or a freak. But enough that just being around him made your skin start to crawl. He's spent his entire life amassing power out of fear. He fears everyone and that drives him to gain more power. I love that he knows Bats and Supe's true identities. But he doesn't run the press on it. He keeps it secret until it can be properly utilized. That's my Lex Luthor. He's insane yes but not full on psychotic like how he ended up.

5) Setting up the team. Unlike some, I don't mind the quick set up. I was very very happy to see Flash and Cyborg make an appearance. Especially Mr. Stone at star labs. Joe Morton better be in the next freaking movie or I'm starting a boycott. What's not to love about this man?

Overall I enjoyed the movie. I think it did far better in pacing than his earlier Superman film where the final battle stretched out too long. I like the focus more on the non-super side of these characters. EG. Alfred and Bruce, Clark and Lois. Even WW and her desire not to be dragged into a cause she doesn't believe in. I also enjoyed Flash and the Flash Point Paradox we kind of saw. It really makes me want to watch the next movie to see what might happen to Lois. Especially if somehow Batman has been having strange prophetic dreams. In which Supes may or may not go all Injustice on them if Batman fails to save Lois. (No pressure Batman. No pressure.) Now that's the type of forethought I love to see in my movies.

I have now read all the other spoilers. We have hashed out point #2 quite well. We can avoid rehashing that for now. Seriously. :) I just really wanna talk about the dream sequences man. Those were the best!

So I've caught up on Arrow, watched the Flash/Supergirl crossover all in preparation for BvS tonight...

I'm still so behind on both Arrow and Flash. My attention span is barely larger than a gnat. I'm still on season 2 of Arrow (With smattering of episodes on season 3 & 4). Smatterings of S1 & 2 of Flash and none of Supergirl. ._.

But I'm going to see BvS tomorrow. I'm psyched!

Justice League HQ

Steve wasn't an idiot. But as the computer began to buzz, he really didn't think anything of it. Even when Thor began to worry, Steve just assumed it was about the impostor. After all the God had just ranted a little about his bruised ego. Anyways, Steve was more occupied with the fact that said impostor had taken the elevator just before he did. He was busy racking his brains for the memory of the man who had left the elevator.

Steve was startled out of his musings by motion out of the corner of his eye. His shield was up before he consciously registered the fact. Thor's hammer sailed harmlessly by even as Thor shouted at them to get down. Steve braced himself but nothing happened. He lowered the shield and looked at Thor inquisitively.

"Apologies my friends, in other realms such sabotage is oft more destructive."

Thor

"It's okay Thor. I'd rather have a hundred false warning than to not have the one warning that matters." Steve knew how important warning were. In the military sometimes they'd wake in the middle of the night and stand ready for an attack that never came. Steve couldn't imagine if they had disregarded a warning and instead were killed in their sleep. Steve eased his shield back onto it's holder on his back. As he did so Scott commented on the fried computer.

“Looks like we’re not going to be getting anything out of this easily. I’ll head down to IT. See if they can send up anyone to help sort this thing out. It’ll give the poor guys down there something interesting to do for once.”

"Thanks Scott." Steve told the man as he slipped into the elevator and disappeared. Steve rolled his shoulder and stepped further into the headquarters. The radio was still speaking and he could hear that the look alike hadn't been found. The only problem Steve had recalled the man who had exited the elevator before he entered it. That man hadn't looked anything like Steve.

Steve picked up the radio and spoke into it. "Be advised. The intruder can change appearance at will." Which also meant he was long gone. They hadn't locked the building down against a shape-shifter. Steve rolled his shoulders, trying to work some of the tension out of them.

"I'm going to head back down to the security office. If the IT guy shows up, well, they know what to do." Steve told Thor. With that the Super Soldier reentered the elevator. His thoughts on the trip down were about the impostor Hawkeye. Steve was now willing to believe the man really wasn't Hawkeye and that was a relief. Steve knew all about Luthor's hate of Superman. But Steve didn't quite share the sentiment. The idea that Superman might be working with a morally ambiguous individual hadn't sat right with him.

Steve absently rubbed the spot on his neck where he had been stabbed with the needle. It was very well done. They knew where to strike and when. Steve had been lulled into a false sense of security. It wouldn't happen again. He might not be a God but he wasn't the frail young man anymore. He was Captain America and people relied on him. He couldn't afford to let himself get lax.

The elevator doors dinged open. Steve stepped out and headed to the security station. What ensued was a long day. After a while Mercy, Lex's personal bodyguard, had come in and questioned Steve. She had left shortly after and had undoubtedly reported to Luthor. The pseudo lock down had also been cancelled hours ago. All that was left at this point was analyzing the security tapes for the intruder. Steve had felt weirded out watching himself arrive, got up to the HQ, go directly to his computer and work for a few hours.

When Scott arrive Steve wanted to call a warning, but knew it would be useless. When Steve arrived the intruder smoothly exited into the elevator setting him on a collision course with Steve. After he left the elevator he went straight to the exit, was thwarted and vanished around one of the blind corners. That was only six minutes in. They had no leads. For all they knew the intruder was either long gone or still around.

Steve rubbed at his temples as he left the security office. Their only lead now was his fried computer. Time to see if the IT guy Scott had fetched had more luck then he did.
