I got absolutely no problem with William joining up. Maybe he and Avery can keep the younger set out of too much trouble. And possibly help Gavin understand about using plastic (good luck there). I'm currently waiting for HaltingBlooper/Conner to have a chance to reply to a bunch of posts.

Gavin looked from the plastic card in his hand up to the older boy and back again, no comprehension on his face. "Uh... ok... thanks," he replied. "What's a credit card?"

Connor turned towards Gavin. "I guess we're shopping. What should we get? What is it like at the orphanage? We should get something to do!" He grinned at the thought. It had been a long time since he'd had some sort of creature comfort.

"I don't know much 'bout the orphanage. I only got there a little before you. I got to eat oatmeal and a apple for breakfast." He tried to remember what the housekeeper had just said. "I think we's supposed to get stuff we need first. You say what you need an I'll try and find it."

Gavin took the card offered and passed it to Conner. "Here's yours," and then took the next for himself, stopping and looking at it closely. He turned to Conner and whispered in his ear. "Do you know what this is? I thought she was going to give us money.

Gavin fidgeted but held onto Conner's hand. Waiting in line was not one of his favorite things. "Hey Conner, what do you think we are doing here," he asked, completely forgetting about Conner's vision problem.

"Partners? Sure!" Connor rose to his feet and stuck out his hand. "I think you might have to pull me, if that's okay."

Gavin took the outstretched hand and led Conner out of the bus. He kept up a running commentary as they went of all obstacles encountered. "We're at the front of the bus, turn this way, uh right, down two big steps and one little one and we're out of the bus, stop here I guess." Last off the bus he lined up with all the others and awaited further instructions.

At the housekeepers announcement, Gavin stood up and waited for the other kids to clear the aisle of the bus. "You want to be partners," Gavin asked Conner. "I can help you get around. You just have to tell me what to do."
