"This ought to be interesting." Liam thought.
"That is correct. It is nice to see you again sir." Liam said with a respective bow.
When they entered, Liam was polite and removed his shoes at the door. He was impressed with the house and commented on how nice it is.
"Maybe it is a Mega Stone, maybe he know has Mega Evolution, just like us." Liam theorized.
Liam went next after Morty healed up. Marty called on Gastly and Liam sent out Grimm.
"Fighting ghosts with ghosts huh, that is a risky move. But no matter, Gastly, use lick!" Marty called.
"Shadow Sneak!" Liam replied. Lastly went in for a lick but Grimm snuck around and attacked from behind.
"Curse! Marty called."
"Shadow Ball!" Liam replied. Grimm was cursed and finished the curser off with a STAB super effective move. The curse zapped some of Grimm's HP. Morty switched to Haunter.
"Haunter, Mean Look!" Marty called. Haunter locked Grimm into the battle to prevent it from escaping. Grimm responded with a curse of his own. The curses zapped HP.
"Hunter, Shadow Ball!" Morty called.
"Grimm decided to show off a move as a surprise for his trainer, Future Sight. Immediately afterward, Grimm was KO'd by the Shadow Ball. Liam saw what it was. "So, when did you pick up that gem Grimm?" Liam asked aloud. Liam next called on Gengar. Grimm's curse of Haunter struck again. Morty called for another Mean Look. "Dark Pulse!" Liam called. Both attacks fired off without a hitch.
"Shadow Ball!" Morty called.
"Sucker Punch!" Genera quickly gave Haunter a jab to the metaphoric gut and was then hit by the Shadow Ball.
"Curse!" Both trainers called. The curse inflicted a knock out blow to both Pokemon on the same round. They were recalled. Morty sent a Gengar of his own out while Liam called on Sherlock.
"Sending out a Psychic type, so you are willingly putting yourself at a disadvantage for the final round, You have given me one interesting battle, I'll give you that." Morty replied. "But, it is time for this to end, Gengar Shadow Ball."
"Not so fast!" Liam replied. He pressed the keystone on his bracelet. Sherlock was enveloped in bright light. The blinding light made Gengar miss with the Shadow Ball.
"What is this?" Morty asked.
'Mega Evolution." Liam replied. "A very rare aspect, only known to be in Kalos and Hoenn. Even there it is rare. So May I introduce to you, Sherlock, the MegaAlakazam!" On cue, the Mega Evolution completed. "Now Shadow ball!" The Shadow Ball scored a critical hit and KO'd Gengar.
"How is this possible...I don't think our potentials are that different. But you seem to have something more than that... So be it. Liam, I nearby award you the Fog Badge."
"Thanks Morty." Liam said. He turned to Shiranui. So, I say we go heal up and see you father. I want to see this battle between you two.

The duo went to the gym. Marty saw them enter. "Ah, I have been waiting for you two. Who wants to go first?"
"Shall we go face the gym now?" Liam inquired.
While at the center, Liam found a trainer who wanted to trade their Graveler to make it evolve into Golem. Liam helped the trainer out and got a Gengar out of the deal.
