On the trip, a trainer confronted Liam, wanting to battle him. The trainer boasted about how he was going to beat me with his 'super powerful' Pokemon. He called out a Rattata. Liam felt bad about this. Unless this Rattata was absurdly strong, any Pokemon Liam has on him would leave it in critical condition. Liam sent out Croconaw. A single Power Up Punch KO'd the Rattata.

The duo got on the boat. It then took off.
Liam fixed his team back to being balanced. He then was ready to head to the boat that would go to Cianawood City.
"Well, lets go get balanced teams and head over there." Liam said.
Liam turned to Shiranui. He proposed to his friend that they adjust back to balanced teams and move on to get the next badge.
After the pokemon were healed, Liam's father had found them. He asked of Liam still had Croconaw with him. Liam said that he did. Liam's father took Croconaw, wanting to so him something. Mr. Coleman taught his son's Croconaw Power up Punch
After the fireworks ended and the crowd started to disperse, Liam congratulated his friend before heading to heal his team up.
Vaporeon was badly shocked and KO'd.
"Vaporeon is unable to continue, Lanturn wins. The victor and Whirl Cup Champion is Shiranui Tsukiko from Ecruteak City!" The ref announced.
"Not good." Liam thought to himself. Vaporeon was worn out and Shiranui still had one pokemon rested and ready to go. "Acid Armor!"
"Shadow Ball!" Liam called.
