Liam got back and healed his Pokemon.
While Liam had Nikolia, He flew down to the Whirl Islands. He went deep into the cave investigating. Deep inside, he found the Legendary Pokemon, Lugia.
"Lugia, the Diving Pokemon. It is said to be the guardian of the seas. It is rumored to have been seen on the night of a storm.Lugia's wings pack devastating power-a light fluttering of its wings can blow apart regular houses. As a result, this Pokémon chooses to live out of sight deep under the sea."
"Hello Liam," A voice said in Liam's head.
"Hello Lugia." Liam replied.
"I have been expecting you." The Legendary continued.
"You have?"
"Yes, I have deemed you to be a great trainer. But, now I want to see your skill for myself."
"Nikola, Ancient Power!" Liam called.
The attack hit and all of Nikola's stats increased. Lugia fired back with Ice Beam.
Nikola was instructed to use another Ancient Power and Lugia used Aeroblast, landing a critical hit.
"Agility!" Liam called. The Zapdos increased its speed. Lugia used Recover.
Nikola used another Agility and Lugia used Aeroblast and missed. the attack hit the water the pokemon were flying over, causing some to rain back down.
"Nikola! Use Thunder, quickly!" The pseudo-rain made it a guaranteed hit and paralyzed Lugia.
"Go Dusk Ball!" Liam called as he thew the ball suited to caves and night time. The ball began to shake. It shook two times and Lugia burst out. It used AeroBlast once more and KO'd Nikola. Liam sent out Hydro next.
"Now, Hydro Mega Evolve!" Liam called as he activated the keystone. Hydro the Blastoise entered its Mega Form.
"Impressive," Lugia commented.
"Dragon Pulse!" Liam called. The attack hit Lugia, and Lugia's Thunderbolt hit as well, paralyzing Hydro. Liam used another Dusk Ball to try and capture Lugia. The Ball shook a few more times before Lugia burst out again. Lugia used Aeroblast again and hit Hydro. Liam called for Hydro to use Dark Pulse. Lugia used Charge Beam and hit Hydro again. Hydro wouldn't be able to take much more, Liam had to end it here, He tossed one final Dusk Ball. Lugia was sucked in and the ball shut. It shook once in midair before dropping into the water below. The ball shook once and snapped shut. Hydro retrieved the Dusk Ball and handed it off to Liam. "All right! I caught Lugia!" Liam exclaimed. "Boy, will Shiranui be in for a surprise when we meet back up." Liam called on Articuno and flew out of the cave and back to Mt Silver.

While Liam was training Sylveon and Vaporeon, Jolteon finally came close enough to talk. The three Eeveelutions started chatting. Jolted then turned to Liam and began talking. Jolted tilted its head toward the power plant.
"You're thanking me for helping you at the plant?" Liam inquired.
"Jolt." Jolteon implied nodding.
"It's no trouble Jolteon." Liam replied. Jolteon took a battle stance.
"You want to battle?" Liam asked.
"Jolt!"
Liam sent out Sylveon. The two Eeveelutions stared one another down. Jolteon started with Flash, lowering Sylveon's accuracy.
"Sylveon, Fairy Wind!" Sylveon strike Jolteon with a gust of wind. Jolteon retaliated with Charge Beam, damaging Sylveon and raising it's SP ATK.
"Now Dig!" Liam called. Sylveon burrowed into the ground as Jolteon fired off another Charge Beam. Sylveon ripped though the ground and hit Jolteon for a Super Effective hit. Jolteon used Wild Charge, dealing a critical hit to Sylveon and activating Cute Charm.
Jolteon was immobilized with love and Sylveon used Draining Kiss. Jolteon was fairly weekend by this point. Liam tossed a Luxary Ball and Jolteon was sucked in. After shaking for a minute, the ball snapped shut. Liam retrieved the ball, deciding on naming the Jolteon, Ohm.
The snarky trainer emerged from the bushes and saw Liam standing there with the two Eeveelutions and recognized him as one of the trainers from a few days ago.
"Hey, newbie did you see that Jolteon around here?" He said in a demeaning tone.
"And why should I tell you?" Liam asked. "This is the second time we have met and you have been rude both times."
The trainer got very short with Liam. "Now look smart guy, I will be the winner of the tournament, and a pathetic trainer like you isn't even worthy enough to lick my boot." He picked up a stone nearby and hurled it at Liam, who dodged it. There was soft thunk behind the bushes and a loud roar. Liam had a look of horror on his face, as he recognized what kind of Poekemon made that roar. A pack of Urasing came charging through the bushes. Liam had already taken off running with his Pokemon, recalling them as they ran. Liam had no idea if the other trainer ran off or not, but realized going and checking would not be a smart move on his part. He returned to the Pokemon Center, Handing over the Pokemon to Joy, and sending his new catch to Oak so he would be added to the rotation of his Pokemon for the training. "I bet I can surprise Shiranui with Ohm when we meet up again.

Liam began training his Pokemon off on his own away from Shiranui. Over the next few months while he worked with various Pokemon, he noticed that Jolteon was watching the training.
"Well, I am sure that we will see that Jolteon again." Liam said. He called Prof Oak and began rotating though all his Pokemon for training. It was still a couple months till the tournament started.
"But, it was being treated at the Pokemon Center, it should have been weak." the trainer complained.
"I have no idea." Liam replied.
A trainer entered the Center. He rather obnoxiously yelled at Joy he wanted to register and to leave the 'noobs' alone so she can get the winner registered. Joy gave the boy a lecture about interrupting people, and that they were talking about the well being of a Pokemon. She also said that they were here for registration first. She set up the program for entries. She asked Liam and Shiranui to come over and present their Pokedex and Johto Badges. Liam did so and was registered.
The obnoxious trainer heard the question on if Jolteon was wild and tossed a Pokeball at it. Jolteon went in and immediately burst out. It then gave the trainer a shock with Thunderbolt and ran out the door.

Joy carefully took Jolteon from Liam and rushed it into the OR. The damages at the plant were minimal and repaired by the time Joy came back with Jolteon.
"Agreed." Liam replied. "The Pokemon Center can give it better treatment then I can." Liam replied. Liam had Sylveon tell the Jolteon what they were doing so it wouldn't get frightened. Liam put on rubber gloves and picked Jolteon up to carry it.
