After a few hours, it was getting dark. Liam returned to the Pokemon Center to get his Pokemon healed, and then went to bed.
"That was a good battle." Liam commented. He turned his focus to Korinna. "So, I heard some trainer went overboard with the move dig in the gym."
Korinna confirmed it but said that her Pokemon were tired from helping fix the gym, and the first thing in the morning she would be ready to accept challengers. Liam thanked her as well as her grandfather and left to do some special training, as well as devise a strategy for facing her gym.

As did Liam. He noticed Shiranui and Liam had Mega Stones and was impressed. He noticed Ryan had a pin to hold one, but didn't have a mega stone. He told Ryan he would battle him, one Pokemon each. If he won, he would get a Mega Stone.
Karina's grandfather told them story of long ago. A man and his Lucario found two stones. The reaction of these two stones was that of mega evolution.
Liam retrieved his Pokemon as well. The trio arrived at the tower of Mastery. There stood a man with Korina, who called the heroes over, saying "These are the guys I was telling you about grandpa."
"Well, me and Shiranui have had mega evolution for a while, but we still don't know much about its origin." Liam said. "Mr, Fuji did not say much on that topic, he just gave us the info needed to activate it. Maybe that would be a good idea." Joy overheard part of the conversation, spsecficly the part about the gym. She mentioned the gym has been closed for a couple days, because her last challenger went overboard with the move dig and turned the arena into swiss cheese. "The gym would be re open tomorrow." Joy informed them.
Liam entered the Pokemon Center. He sent Anubis to Prof Oak so he could use Noibat. He then took his pokemon to Joy.

A master of courtesy and swordsmanship, it fights using extending swords on its elbows." Liam pulled out the Mega Stone. It was fixed into a belt that Liam fastened onto the Pokemon. "Now, we're ready for the gym." Liam said as he recalled Gallade.
