"It may not be Sylph." Liam replied. "There is Devon Corp in Hoenn that also produces Pokeballs. At any rate, I'd like to check it out."
Liam cheered for his friend. Valerie said the next gym was in Anistar City, but suggested they go check out the Pokeball factory to the north of town.
Valerie said each of them would use two Pokemon. She started off with Spritze. Liam called out Scarlet the Delphox.
"Mystical Fire!" Liam called.
"Disarming voice!" Valerie called. Scarlet held her ears in pain, but not until after she fired off the attack of fire. Spritze was hit with the special flames, its Sp Atk lowered.
"Trick Room.' Valerie called.
"Will o' wisp!" Liam called. Scarlet managed to induce a burn on the opposing Pokemon.

"Gyro Ball!" Valerie called. Spritze slammed into Scarlet.
"Iron Tail" Liam called. Scarlet tried to attack but missed.

Valerie called for Gyro Ball again. Scarlet got hit. Liam called for Iron Tail, but again she missed.

Valerie had Spritze use confide. Scarlet's Sp Atk went down.
"Mystical Fire Scarlet!" Spritze was clipped by this fire attack.

Valerie ordered another Gyro Ball. After this use, Scarlet began to glow with a red aura, which Liam knew was Blaze.
"Blast burn!" Liam called. The fire attack issued from the wand, covering Valerie's entire half of the battlefield that was within the trick room. Spritze was getting worn out from the massive fire attack and the burn. It came out of the fire, but passed out from exhaustion.
"Spritze is unable to battle, Delphox wins." the ref announced. Valerie praised Spritze for the good job and sent out Sylveon.

"Moonblast!" Valerie called. The attack finished Scarlet off.
"Delphox is unable to battle, Sylveon wins." the ref said. Liam recalled Scarlet, also praising his Pokemon for a good job.
"It's time for my secret weapon." Liam said as he tossed a ball into the air. Venasaur emerged.

"Leech Seed!" Liam called. A seed rocketed out from the flower and struck Sylveon, wrapping it in vines.
Valerie called for Fairy Wind. It didn't do much damage, but Valerie didn't have much choice at this point.

"Toxic!" Liam called. Venasaur fired a blob of purple goo at Sylveon, badly poisoning it. Sylveon has no super effective attacks to use on Venasaur, and it is also leech seeded and badly poisoned. There was no way for Sylveon to pull this out of the fire. All Vaerie could do was have Sylveon use Draining Kiss to try and suck back HP. Once Sylveon fainted, Valerie gave Liam the Fairy Badge.

At the gym, Valerie was sitting outside, talking with her Sylveon.
"Well, you just watch us beat her." Liam said.
"Already have it." He said. "She just had a fashion show and she picks a random spectator to battle with. If they beat her she gives them a badge. You'll likely have to face multiple Pokemon."
"Here for the badge?" Trevor inquired.
As the duo left, Trevor was walking in. "I was wondering when I'd see you two." He said.
