Liam pulled out an umbrella printed to resemble a Pokéball once opened.

"You could always tell Lotad to use Rain Dance and see." Liam stated.

"Simply touch the TM to the Pokémon. There will be a brief instance of glowing around the Pokémon and the TM. When it finishes, you can pull the TM away from them." Liam explained. "Or, I can call in one of my Pokémon who knows the move to show Lotad."

"Yup." Liam replied. "Thankfully, the tunnel right there in town leads back to Rustborro. I have to run a quick errand to there before the contest."

"I can't wait to get there and enter the contest." Liam stated.

Liam picked up the Pidgotite. He put it in his pack until he could make an anklet to put on Pidgeot to hold it.

Liam could sense that Pidgeot did not want to stay with the Pidgey and Pidgeotto. He recalled Pidgeot to its ball and was ready to move on, after quickly checking the few members of the flock that looked banged up. They only had minor scratches and bruises that did not require medical attention.

Liam collected the shards of his fishing rod. He knew where he could go to get a new one. He pet the Pidgeot's head as he praised it. Slowly, the Pidgeys and Pidgeottos that made the rest of the flock began flying back. Liam began to postulate if he should leave Pidgeot to care for them. Almost as if it was sensing Liam's feelings, Pidgeot cooed as it wrapped its wings around Liam in a hug.

Pidgeotto arrived on he scene and landed near the injured Pidgey and trying to assess wounds. However, there was one more Seviper that Titania was unaware of. It came out of the bushes and lunged toward Titania with a Poison Tail. Liam quickly pulled out and extended his fishing rod and used it to block the attack, costing Liam the fishing rod. "Pidgeotto, Steel Wing!" While the Bird Pokémon distracted the free Seviper, Liam used an Antidote of the attacked Pidgey. The Seviper smacked Pidgeotto with Iron Tail and lunged toward the Pidgey and Liam with Poison Jab. Liam tried to shield the Pidgey. He heard a smack, but he wasn't hit. When he opened his eyes to see what happened, Pidgeotto had used Agility to get there to block the attack. The Poison Jab had hit it in the chest and poisoned it. However, a look of pain was absent from Pidgeotto's face, instead one of anger was on the face.
"PidgeoTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Pidgeotto began to glow white as it grew bigger and the feathers ontop its head began to grow and go down the back.
"PIDGEOT!" It shirked. The Seviper was taken aback.
"Get rid of the Seviper with Brave Bird!" Liam ordered. Pidgeot flew up and then began engulfed in blue flames and smacked into the Seviper and continued to smack into the psychically held Seviper. The Seviper were then sent flying off into the distance. Pidgeot began to groom the young Pidgey.

Meanwhile, on Route 117...
A flock of Pidgey scurried from trees as a group of Seviper chased after them. One Seviper managed to smack a Pidgey with Poison Tail, knocking it to the ground. It let out a cry that only the most sensitive ears at the Pokémon Center would have been able to detect.
Liam's Pidgeotto burst out of it's ball and shrieked. "Piggeot Geot!" It hollered. The Bird Pokémon, then took off toward the route. Liam ran after his Pokémon as he pulled his bike from his pack.
