Looker wrote down what Shiranui had to say and thanked him for his time. A Chansey came up and put a cup of coffee on the table for him.

The group went to the Pokémon Center and Liam took his Pokémon to be healed and offered to take Shiranui's while he gave Looker a statement

"Sounds like a plan." Looker said with a smile. With that, the heroes went to Jagged Pass to reach Lavaridge.

Looker said he would accept it, but it would be better to wait until they are in a air conditioned Pokémon Center.

Liam charged ahead while his friends kept the rest of Magma busy. He found Maxie ahead. Maxie figured that the others must have distracted Tabitha to let Liam get to him, pegging Shiranui specifically as the culprit. He called out a Mightyena. Liam sent out Blissey, who one shotted Mightyena with a single Focus Blast. Maxie next used a Crobat, who was knocked out by Sylveon. Maxie decided to show Liam his Mega Evolution. Maxie got a message on his comm piece.
"What's that?" He asked. He paused for the other person to speak. "You found a new lead on the orb? Excellent! We will Rendezvous and investigate." He turned to Liam. "We will meet again." He than ran jumped off the cliff. Liam ran to the edge only to see a Magma copter to rise up with him in it and take off. Other Magma copters followed suit.
Archie ran up and saw Liam.
"It's you." He said menacingly. "Where did Maxie go?"
"Even if I knew, why would I tell you?" Liam inquired.
"Don't mouth off to me boy!" Archie sneered. He must have found a new lead on the orb."
"Halt!" Called a voice. Liam and Archie looked toward it source. It was Looker charging forward. "In the name of the International Police, you are under arrest!" A Team Aqua copter rose up and Maxie hopped on and it took off.

Liam found that all of the grunts from both sides were busy fighting one another, and at more or less a standstill. The heroes climbed the volcano and were at one point stopped by a man who introduced himself as Team Magma Admin Tabitha. He tried to halt the heroes' progress.

Once it had dropped the heroes off at the top, Liam saw two copters perched above, one red and the other blue. Liam cursed under his breath as e called them to his friends' attention.

Soon enough, the cable car began an upward ascent.
