Liam had decided on what he would bring to the gym.
"Well, I'll be ready soon." Liam said. "I just need to go over some strategies in my head."
"Ghosts would be interesting to bring, and Fighting types would be helpful." Liam added.

"Well, he wanted to go do some training while we competed." Liam recalled. "I'm sure he'll turn up eventually." The familiar chime was heard and a Chancey walked up to Liam and Shiranui while holding a tray with two balls in it. Liam thanked the Chancey and took Pidgin's ball and placed it back on his belt.
"Yup." Liam said. "Rumor has it that Fortree's leader has a discolored Pokémon." Liam commented.
Liam was named the winner. Mega Pidgot returned to the normal form and cooed in victory before passing out from exhaustion. Liam recalled Pidgot and accepted the ribbon. It was announced that Fortree would have the next contest. Liam went to the Center and handed of Pidgin's ball to a Chansey for it to be healed.
Pidgeot was a sitting Psyduck as it had to recharge, and No Guard meant that evasion was impossible. Pidgeot squawked when it was hit. Pidgeot managed to retain consciousness after the attack. "Air Slash!" Liam called. The sickle of wind soared toward the Starmie.
Liam's points dropped from Shiranui's use of Protect. Liam decided to take a gamble that Protect would fail. "Agility into Giga Impact!" Liam called. Pidgeot upped its speed and started to crash down on Hoshi.
