The green shield saved Niwatori from the bolt of electricity, as well as the sound.
"Jump behind Niwatori!" Liam called. Hitmonchan got behind the Combuskin, allowing the green shield to save him as well. The burn finished off Magnezone.
"Hyper Beam!"
"Ice Punch!" Liam called. Hitmonchan was hit with the blast. Explode was frozen solid.

"Magnezone, Lock on Combuskin!" Exploud attempted to slam its foot on the Punching Pokémon while a crosshairs symbol appealed on Combuskin's belly.
"Fire Punch Magnezone!" Liam called. The fire type attack, beefed by Iron Fist slammed into Magnezone dealing a critical hit and a burn.

Outside, the heroes ran into Gabby and Ty. They wanted to battle both trainers together. Each trainer would use a single Pokémon.
"Well ,we can take them." Liam said. A Chancey came by and set down a tray that held the Pokémon being healed. "Chansey Chansey!" She said with a bow before walking off. Liam picked up his Luxury Balls and put them back on his belt. "Ready?"
"Not to mention Lilycove has a contest." Liam added.
Liam handed over his Pokémon to Joy once he is was at the Center.
During the gym battle while Liam was watching, Pikachu rustled through his trainer's bag and pulled out some sweets and began eating them. After the battle, Liam was ready to head to the Pokémon Center before they moved on.
