"Show off your Agility!" Pikachu elegantly sped around the stage, doing impressive acrobatic maneuvers. The ended with Pikachu landing on Liam's head and sticking the landing.

"What an impressive display of Pikachu's footwork."
"Pikachu is remarkable!" Pikachu blushed at this compliment.
"I can tell by your Pikachu's coat that he is very well groomed."
"I have never seen a Pikachu zip around quite like yours."

A green haired boy named Drew came out holding a rose. Liam guessed he was the one who sent May the flower used Masqurain and score 427. girl named Soladad, who was from Pewter City used Bdutterfree and received a score of 412 Another contestant, a Sinnoh native named Nando used Sunflora and scored 402.

Nando was the final contestant. Vivian said that they needed to be patient while the computer crunched the numbers to give the top 64. It was only a few minutes before the results were up *. (only stating the placements of named characters)

Before long, the Grand Festival began. "Hello! And Welcome to hoenn's Grand Festival!""Vivian called. "All of these fine co-ordinators gave gathered five ribbons. " Evergrande is remarkable!" Again the audience cheered before the MC continued. " We also have not one, not two, but three Nurse Joys! From:Evergrande, Oldale,
and Sootopolis!"

"First, every coordinator will make a display using only a single move. The top 64 will advance to the appeal round. So, let's get the ball rolling with Contestant #1, Shiranui Tsukiko from Eckurteak City, Johto!"

Joy came up and told May that she was told to giver her something and handed over a rose. May smiled as she knew exactly what this meant. Joy also told them they needed to go to the Contest Hall Green Room.

"Well, we can't worry about that right now." Liam said. A Munchlax ran up and grabbed at the Pokéblocks. Pikachu was very unhappy about this and began yelling. His checks began to spark as he charged of an electric move.
"Stop!" Liam called out in unison with another voice. May ran up. She apologized to Pikachu and Liam and made Munchlax do the same. Than she turned to greet Shiranui. She was happy to see that he got all five ribbons he needed.

Liam was dressed up and ready to go in the contest. He was in the lobby relaxing while Pikachu was eating Pokéblocks. A man dressed like a Cacturne walked up.
"Oh, what a cute Pikachu." He said brushing his purple hair aside. He offered some of his own Pokéblocks to Pikachu, who politely refused. He brushed it off and walked away. Little did Liam, or his Pikachu know, this man was not going to take the refusal, polite or not sitting down.

The next day, Liam got up early and did got ready.

Liam began polishing the balls that held his on hand Pokémon until it was time to get some sleep.

Liam was trying to figure out what specific events they have dealt with that would qualify for this. Liam figured the gathering of the eight badges and five ribbons could count as determination, and the work done sneaking into Magma's and Aqua's bases could work for stealth.
