Liam caught up to the disguised Zoura. He recognized Team Rocket instantly. He seriously thought about blowing their cover.
In fact, Team Rocket noticed Shiranui, and were hoping he didn't recognize them.

'Confusion!" Liam commanded. The Ice attack stopped cold in its tracks and than did a 180 and barreled toward Goodra. It hit, but did not freeze Goodra. Ash called for Dragon Pulse again.
"Mega Evolve and use Psychic!" Liam said activating the keystone. Sherlock Mega Evovled and made the move curve around him and hit the ground harmlessly.
"Use Dragon Tail!" Ash ordered. The attack flung Sherlock out of the battle and dragged Scarlet back out.

"Catch it and use Ice Punch!" Liam called. As Pikachu ran up, Sherlock grabbed Pikachu by the tail and slammed a frigid fist into Pikachu's gut and than tossed him back toward Ash. Pikachu was frozen solid.
"Now, Psycho Cut!" Liam called. The shockwave of power pierced through the Ice and hit Pikachu. Pikachu got back up.
"Do you want to take a break?" Ash asked Pikachu. Pikachu implied 'No', so Ash said to use Electro Ball. Sherlock was hit by it.
"Now, Flash!" Liam called. A blinding light briefly shot across the battlefield, forcing Pikachu to close his eyes. When he reopened them, He had lost sight of Sherlock.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt all over the battlefield." Ash said. Pikachu let the voltage go all over, zapping Sherlock in the process.
"Energy Ball!" Liam called.
"Grab onto its mustache and use Thunderbolt at full strength!" Ash said. Both moves worked, Sherlock was KO'd and replaced by Jiriya the Greninja.

"It's alright buddy." Ash said. "You fought well, just leave the rest to Greninja." Ash returned to his box and sat his bag down for Pikachu to lean against.
"Greninja! I choose you!" Ash called as his final Pokémon took the stage.

"Jiriya, Power up Punch!" Liam called. Jiriya charged toward the other Greninja and smacked him across the face, upping his attack in the process.
"Greninja! Let's do it!" Ash called.
"Ninja!" His Greninja agreed giving a thumbs up. A tower of water rose up around Ash's Greninja and when it dispersed, Greninja had taken on a few physical characteristics of Ash's. The whole stadium was in a stunned silence over this, save for a red haired girl and purple haired boy who were taking snacks to people in the stands. Their Wobbafett and Meowth weren't phased by it either. Liam quickly regained his composure.
"Cut!" Ash called.
"Night Slash!" Liam ordered. The two ninjas began a sword battle, that looked like something from a shonin anime, acrobatic movements included. Many attacks were exchanged back and forth. Many times Water Shuriken rained down on the stadium, eventually turning the meadow into a swampland.
"Cut!" Ash called.
"Shadow Sneak!" The priority move went first. The cut than phased through Jiriya, much to Ash's astonishment.
The MC than announced that Jiriya has the ability Protean, which means whenever he uses a move, his type changes to match it before it is fired off.
"Now, Night Slash!" Liam called.
"Water Shurkin!" Ash commanded. Jiriya slashed the watery projectiles as they approached, making it to the transformed Greninja and hitting it. Ash felt a twinge of pain in his right arm, in the same spot his Greninja was hit.
The acrobatic stalemate between the two ninja frog Pokémon went on for another five minutes with no winner in sight. It eventually came down to both fighting with a blade conjured with Cut again, with Jiriya eventually coming out on top, staying up just long enough to give Liam the win.
The MC stated that there would be a two day break for the finalists to get ready. The showed the two finalists' pictures on the jumbotron.

In the Green Corner, we have Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town, Kanto! Get ready, as both of these trainers have shown they very capable trainers. Now Let this match begin!"
Both trainers stood in thhier respective boxes focused on the task ahead. Pikachu was, like always standing at Ash's side, bearing the same determined look as his trainer.
"Snorlax! I choose you!" Ash called. Snorlax emerged on the battlefield, ready to go.
"Draglgle! Time to shine!" Liam called.

"Toxic Spikes!" Liam called. The purple spikes were scattered on Ash's part of the field.

"one more Toxic Spikes!" Liam ordered. It went off and another layer was planted. This would give Liam a leg up, espically sense he got it off early.

By this point, Both Pokemon were hurt badly. Ash and Pikachu both called out to Snorlax in concern. Ash had an idea, "Snorlax, Rest!" Snorlax went to sleep and restored its health, as well as negating the poison.
"Acid Armor!" Liam called. Again, the paralysis didn't interfere and Deraglge's defense went up.

"Snorlax, Sleep Talk!" Ash called. Snorlax did an Ice Punch, and KO'd Draglgle. Liam sent out Sherlock, the shiny Alakazam next.

Ash called for a Body Slam. Snorlax tried to slam its weight on Sherlock, only to be blasted in the stomach by another Focus Blast and sent airborne. At the last seceond before Snorlax crashed back down, Liam called for Teleport. Sherlock vanished and reappeared in front of Ash and facing Liam. Snorlax crashed on the floor, making a crater, KO'd. Ash sent Charizard out next. Charizard flew over the spikes, avoiding the venom. Liam sent out his own Pikachu.

"Charizard, Flamethrower, straight down!" Ash called. Charizard's flames burned down beneath the stadium floor, and a purple liquid oozed out. The MC commented on using fire to melt away the venomous spikes was a clever move. He also commented on the acrobatic movements of Liam's Pikachu was like something out of a contest, which was no surprise since Liam took seconed in Hoenn's Grand Festival the previous month.
"Charizard, Flamethrower!" Ash called.
"Pikachu, Iron Tail the ground!" Liam ordered. Pikacu sprnigboarded above the scarlet flames and landed on Charizard's head. He than grabbed onto one of his horns and held on for dear life as Chariazrd attempted to shake him off.
"Charizard, Shake him off with Seismic Toss!" Ash called. Charizard managed to free himself and grabbed the mouse. He was doing the instructed move when Liam ordered a Thunder. By the time Pikachu could do the move, he was almost slammed into the ground. The bolt hit them as the hit the ground, resulting in an explosion, and a new crater. It was a double knockout. Both trainers praised their Pokemon for the good work and told them to take a rest. Next, Ash sent out Sceptile, and Liam sent out Scarlet, the Delphox.

"Signal Beam!" Liam called.Ash called for Bullet Seed. Bullet Seed hit five times, and Sceptile escaped being confused.
"Leaf Storm!" Ash called.
"Blast Burn!" Liam ordered. The attacks collided, and made fire rain down on the arena, causng a small amount of damage on Sceptile.
Sceptile was ordered to use Quick Attack on Scarlet. Scarlet was unable to move.
Ash again called for Leaf Storm, and Liam called Mystic Fire. After this, Sceptile was KO'd. Since Ash lost three Pokemon (and the battlefield was litered with craters) They took a brief pause to switch out the blank battlefield.
