Jenny had her Growlithe do as Shiranui suggested. It began to dash off into the dank forest. Hydro and Sherlock went back to Oak's lab via teleport.
"Jiriya! Aide in the chase!" The Greninja leapt forward and dashed after Growlithe. Liam than followed alongside Jenny.

"We do not know the source of the fire yet." Liam said. Sherlock was also helping put out the fire by teleporting dirt in and spreading it in the fire.

The smoke could be seen from the other side of Viridan. Liam got a horrifed look on his face. Dashing forward he pulled a bike out from his bag as he ran and hopped on, accelerating his movement speed. Pikachu used Agility to catch up and jump onto the bike's handlebars. Liam pedaled through town and was halfway to the forest before Jenny came ridding up on her motorbike. They both came to a halt right before the forest.
"Sherlock!" Liam called out in his mind. "I need you to come to me with Hydro, I need him to be ready for Mega Evolution." In a matter of seconds, the shiny Alakazam appeared with a Blastoise in tow.
"Hydro! Mega Evolve!" Hydro became enveloped in light and changed form. "Now, spray everything down with Hydro Pump!" Jenny called on a Squirtle to assist with its Water Gun.

"Besides, observing battles at Frontier Facilites could be very helpful." Liam added.

"Here." Liam said tossing over a Full Restore. "You might as well travel along with us. There is safety n numbers after all."

A Pidgey flew down and landed near them. "Alright, first off you need to weaken the Pokémon up." Liam explained. He tossed a ball into the air and Pikachu emerged. "Alright, Pikachu we're showing how to catch a Pokémon today, so ease up a little bit."
"Pika." Pikachu nodded in conformation.
"Now, Quick Attack!" Pikachu rocketed into the Pidgey and did fair damage. The Pidgey used Sand Attack.
"It is also helpful to cast a status condition, like this, Thunder Wave!" Pikachu gave the pidgey a paralyzing shock. The Pidgey was unable to move.
"Than you toss a Pokéball." Liam explained. "There are several kinds of Pokéballs, but more on that in a bit." Liam said. He tossed a Pokéball at the Pidgey. It was sucked in. The ball wiggled three times and pinged shut.
"And Bob's your uncle." Liam said. He walked over and released the Pidgey from the ball. He used a Full Restore on it and let it go free.

Liam approached the duo. "Do you want us to show you how to catch a Pokémon?"

The heroes started off toward Pewter City, home to the first contest in this year's rotation. Along Route 1, the heroes would see the twins. They were having trouble catching a Pidgey. "Should we offer to show them how it's done?" Liam asked.
