Liam called out Hydro to be his partner in the example. He than explained that not only are he keystone and Megastone needed, but the trainer and Pokémon need to have a strong bond between them. "Now, focus on your partner and fell the energy between you two. Then activate the keystone." Liam said as he activated his. Light emanated from his keystone and the stone Hydro had. The lights connected, and Hydro's form changed to his Mega form. He now had one huge cannon on his back instead of two slightly smallest ones, as well as a small one above each hand. Liam also explained that Mega Blstoise has an ability known as Wonder Launcher. It increased the power of a small handful of moves, four of which a Blastoise can know.

Liam had his Pokémon healed and was ready to give Chuck a crash course in Mega Evolution.
A red "x" appeared on each of the judges' podiums. Liam was named the winner. Goodra happily hugged Liam, leaving him a little slimy. Liam was presented with a gold and silver ribbon. Liam placed it in the ribbon case. Upon realizing that this was his fifth ribbon, Mr. Contesta congratulated Liam on qualifying for the Grand Festival. It was than announced that the final contests for Kanto would be in Viridian City.
"Dragon Pulse at point blank!" Liam called. Goodra formed the attack and held it to lunch until Higitsune was too close to evade it.
"Rain Dance!" Goodra summoned a rain storm, that weakened the fire attack, and dropped Shiranui's points a bit. Goodra than was hit by the weakened attack.
"Another Dragon Pulse!" Another was fired, colliding with the original one, making both explode near Higitsune.
Goodra was it by the psychic attack and retaliated with another Dragon Pulse
Liam lost some points with that. Liam next called for Sludge Bomb.
"Hidden Power!" Goodreads formed the balls of energy, which were Dark Type in Goodra's case and juggled them briefly before tossing them at the Delphic as if they were baseballs.
