"That was very good." Liam complamented. "Zoroarks can be very difficult to deal with when they oppose you in battle. *** After all 250 coordinators preformed the top 164 were named. At the end of the thrid day, those 164 had been dwindled down to eight. Those eight were placed as follows for the begining of day four.
Harley sneered to himself at the prospect of being put against May next. He knew that with how May sleeps, he could easily sneak into her room and sabotage her, but he'd have to be careful since her little brother was with her to watch to the festival. During the night, Harley got up and picked the lock on May's room. He set her clock back a few hours and quietly exited her room, locking it back behind him. He snuck back into his room snickering at his clever trick to disqualify May. The next day, Harley's dirty trick was undermined by a random fluke. May and Max was woken by her Munchlax, who realized by how bright it was that they needed to get up. May had freaked and hurried to get dressed. (of note: May arrives to the green room during Shiranui and Soladad's battle)
Liam saw four well known Coordinators: May, Drew, Harley, and Soladad. Liam knew that this Festival would be tough, especially since he saw all of them at Hoenn's Grand Festival. The two weeks eventually elapsed, and it was time for the Festival to begin. "Hello one and all! Welcome to Kanto's Grand Festival! I'm your hostess, Lillian Mirrdian!" Lillian annouced over the loud speaker. There was a ton of applause. When it ended, she continued. "To qualify for this competion, each of these two-hundred fifty coordinators had to obtain five ribbons. Now, allow me to introduce our judges during this week-long event!" Lillian continued. After another wave of applause. "First, the head of the Pokémon Contest Committe,Mr. Raoul Contesta!!" The crowd cheered loudly.
"Welcome everyone! All of these coordinators have worked hard to get here today, so let's give them all attention. And, to the all the coordinators, break a leg." The crowd cheered.
"Next, the head of the Pokémon Fan Club,Mr. Sukizo!" The crowd cheered again. "Indiago Plateau is remarkable!" The crowd cheered again. While Liam was watching feed, he notied that some people in the audicne were wearing shirts with Sukizo's likeness on it with his catchprhase above his head. Lillian continued. "We also have not one, but two Nurse Joys! FromIndiago Plataeu and Pewter City!" The crowd cheered.
"It is great to be here for all of these people, and this event." "Let's all have fun this weekm ok?" The comments from each of the Joys recived applause. "Without furthur ado, let's begin!" The first named coordinator was May. Defintely a fan favorite, she was met with huge appluase. "Glaceon! Take the stage!" Glaceon emerged from its ball. Glaceon made a huge pillar of ice, and proceded to sculpt it with ice. The ice was formed into a sculpture of the four judges and Lillian. The crowd cheered for the sculpture, espically since it was so well made and so quickly.
"Your Glaceon has a mastery over its Ice powers, and you have done a good job rasing it." "Glaceon is remarkable!" "Your Glaceon's coat is very shiny." "I can tell that you and your Glaceon have a very strong bond." Each of the judges' commentes were met with appluase.

Drew was next. He used Butterfree. Butterfree's appeal involved the use of Sleep Powder and Silver Wind, ending with Confusion.
"Such a beautiful display" "Butterfree is Remarkable!" "Your Butterfree's wings have a beautiful shine to them." "Your Butterfree shows how good a Bug Pokémon can be."

Liam was coordinator #11. He used Hydro the Blastoise. Hydro Mega Evolved and fired off the various moves improved by Wonder Laucncher and were all hit with Flash Cannon, making a firework of an explosion.
"That is a spectaculor use of Mega Blastoise's ability." "Blastoise is Remarkable!" "This is a fantastic display of your Blastoise's power." "With such a handle on Mega Evolution, you and your Blastoise clearly have a strong bond."
Brandon said they could leave as soon as he got to the cockpit. "You mean this thing moves?" Liam's father asked. "Indeed it does." Scott replied. Soon enough, The Battle Pyramid took flight and landed at the Indigo Plateu. They still had some time until the Festival Began. The local Joy gladly helped them register for the Grand Festival and Pre-Register for the regional tournament. Since Shiranui was the reigning Champ, he had access to a spectator's box for use during both competitons. He would not be particpating, but would simply face the winner of the tournament, providing they had beat the Elite Four members: Will, Koga, Bruno, and Karen. liam was registered for both and went to work on his appeal for the festival. He had two weeks to get it down.
"Thanks Chuck. " Liam said. Brandon mentioned that he heard from Scott that they were going to the Grand Festival next and offered to take them to The Indigo Plateu. Liam said that he'd appreciate it.
Now that both of them had beaten all of the facilities, Scott told them that for winning, they are eligible to become Frontier Brains themselves. Liam thanked Scott for the offer, but wasn't ready to stop traveling yet. Liam's father congratulated them on winning. He gave Liam a Luxury Ball which held a gift for him. Liam thanked his father.
Once all of the introductions were done between The Colemans, The Tsukikos, and the party, Scott than introduced the Pyramid King Brandon. He had a stern look on his face. Brandon apologized for being late, but he visiting a friend who lives in town that he hadn't seen since a chance encounter near Snowpoint City in Sinnoh. Pyramid King Brandon welcomed the heroes to the Battle Pyramid. He explained that it would be a full six on six battle where only the challenger can substitute. Brandon took his place in the red corner, while Liam took his in the green.
“Ninjask, I need your assistance!” Brandon called. “Jiriya! Its time to Shine!” Liam called. The two Pokémon emerged, ready to battle.
“Ninjask, Double Team!” Brandon ordered. “Double Team as well.” Liam ordered. Both Pokémon began to dash around the arena fast enough to make copies of themselves. Ninjask’s speed boost triggered, making it faster. “Shadow Ball!” Brandon called. “Aerial Ace!” Liam called. The many Jiriyas quickly charged at the Ninjasks, dealing great damage to it. They than hit the Jiriya copies, and the real one with the Shadow Balls. Liam ordered a Water Shuriken and it was enough to KO the Ninjask. Brandon praised Ninjask for the good work, and commented that Jiriya was well trained.
“Dusknoir! I need your assistance!” Brandon called. “Jiriya, take a break, Grimm, Its time to shine!”
“Shadow Punch!” Liam called while Brandon called for Shadow Ball. Grimm punched the other ghost’s attack, making it fly off in another direction. Grimm kept moving and hit the other Dusknoir. Brandon had his Dusknoir grab Grimm while he was close and used Ice Punch, freezing Grimm. While Grimm was frozen, he was hit with Hex. It was a critical hit, and Grimm was heavily injured. Brandon was again impressed.
Liam recalled Grimm and sent out Blissey. Brandon was surprised to see Blissey called out. Being a normal type, Blissey wouldn’t be able to hit Dusknoir with a STAB move, nor would Dusknoir.
“Toxic!” Liam called. Blissey hurled a blob of poison at the Dusknoir. Dusknoir retaliated with a Fire Punch. Blissey took the hit. Toxic sapped some of Dusknoir’s health. Dusknoir used Thunder Punch, and paralyzed Blissey. “Refresh.” Liam called. Blissey cured herself of the paralysis and Toxic sapped more health from Dusknoir. “Use Ice Punch.” Brandon ordered. “Dodge!” Liam ordered. Blissey managed to sidestep the attack and used Softboiled to heal herself. Toxic sapped even more health away from Dusknoir. Brandon ordered a Destiny Bond, knowing that the poison would likely take Dusknoir this turn. Liam ordered Healing Wish. Blissey knocked herself out to fully restore the next Pokémon to come out, who would be Grimm. Dusknoir was KO’d, and swapped out for Registeel.
“Registeel, I need your assistance!” “Grimm, Its time to shine!”
Register was ordered to use Thunderbolt. Dusknoir used Shadow Sneak. Both moves hit the target. Liam called for Curse. Grimm cut his health to curse the Registeel. Register than finished Grimm off with Iron Head.
“Smaug, its time to shine!” Liam called as his Charizard emerged from the Luxury Ball.
Liam activated the Mega Ring, and Smaug Mega Evolved into Mega Charizard Y. An intense sunlight filled the arena. Registeel was afflicted by the curse, and then hit by Smaug’s Flamethrower. Registeel was KO’d and swapped out for Solrock.
Goodra fired off a Flamethrower, which got a lucky hit on the Regice. Regice used Ice Beam and hit Goodra. Goodra used Dragon Pulse, which hit very well, despite the type disadvantage. Regice was ordered to use Ice Beam, but missed and Goodra fired off another Flamethrower. Regice next used Frost Breath. It was a critical hit and KO’d Goodra.
Liam wanted Jiriya to cover the battlefield in as thick of a smokescreen as he could. He didn’t want Regice to see Jiriya coming. Brandon was surprised at the order, seeing as such would keep Liam from seeing as well and realized that he must have some sort of strategy. Liam closed his eyes and began to focus on Jiriya’s presence. “Power up Punch 30 degrees to your right!” Liam called. Inside the smoke, Jiriya hit the other Pokémon. Brandon called for a Lock On. Liam next ordered a Night Slash. Jiriya managed to hit, but Brandon ordered a Hammer Arm, which was Super Effective since Jiriya just became Dark type. Jiriya went flying out of the smoke and was KO’d. When the smoke dispersed, it was found that it was in fact a double KO, leaving them both with a single Pokémon.
“Regirock! I need your assistance!” “Deoxys, its time to shine!”
Brandon called for Zap Cannon, while Liam called for Shadow Ball. Deoxys morphed into his Attack form and flung the attack, getting hit by Zap Cannon and paralyzed. Brandon called for Iron Defense and Liam had Deoxys use Pycho Shift, to give his status condition to the Regirock. Brandon called for an Ancient Power, which connected. “Use Agility!” Liam called. Deoxys morphed to his speed form and began to move around at an accelerated pace. Regirock used Lock on as a target appeared on Deoxys’ body. Deoxys flung a Shadow Ball which hit. Regirock used Ancient Power again. Deoxys had lost a good amount of health, and Liam ordered it to Recover. Regirock’s paralyzed condition forced it to skip its turn. Liam had Deoxys use Agility again while Brandon effectively made it irrelevant with another Lock On. Brandon than ordered Regirock to use Superpower. “Counter!” Liam ordered. Deoxys stayed in his Attack Form and began to glow with a red aura. When Regirock slammed its fist onto Deoxys, he was sent flying backward and was KO’d. Deoxys was barely holding on, and Liam was named the winner. Brandon presented him with the Brave Symbol.
Mr. Coleman was impressed at how well trained Chuck's Pokémon seemed to be. He called over to the other man who was at the entrance with him to see what they thought.
"It's nice to meet you Chuck." Liam's mother said. A Pokéball opened from her pocket and a jet of light shot out, takng the form of a Goomy. Liam's Goodra came out as well and happilly picked the small dragon up and hugged it happily. Liam explained to the others that his Goodra was that Goomy's father, and that Shiranui's Goodra was its mother. Joy let the rest of her on hand Pokémon out showing that she had (due to her husband catching them and giving them to her) all of the Pokémon typically used by the Joys across the world, Audino, Wigglytuff, Comfey, and Florence who was already out of her ball. Another thing to note was that all of her Pokémon were in Heal Balls, much like Liam tended to use exclusively Luxury Balls for his captures.
