Pokémon Battle Frontier

I got Gold and silver on the V. Console. On Silver, I picked Totodile and happened to get it as female. I also reset till I got my Cyndaquil on the other one female, took maybe 10 tries.

Liam had his Pokémon lined up and went to watch Chuck's battle against Harrison.

Liam saw that he was facing Mike. With Mike being a Champion himself, Liam would make an adjustment to his team. This would be the hardest match he has had in the tournament, possibly as tough as Pyramid King Brandon.

It was time for Liam's battle with Conway. Both trainers took their respective spots on the battlefield as the scoreboard lit up. Conway talked about how he cruched the data, and felt that he had devised his best plan to defeat Liam.

"Heracross!" Conway called.
"Sherlock, It's time to shine!" Liam called as the shiny Alakazam took his place.

"The battle between Conway's Heracross, and Liam's Alakazam will now begin." The ref annouced. "Conway will get the first move."
"Heracross, Return!" Conway called. This surpised Liam. "Dusknoir, go!"

"Sherlock, Shadow Ball!" Liam called. The Alakazam fired the Ghost type attack, while Dusknor responded with Shadow Punch. The Shadow Ball was knocked back into Sherlock, makng him take both hits.
"Recover!" Liam called.
"Astonish!" Conway ordered. Sherlock began to restore his health and he was then took a surprise attack from the Dusknoir, taking more damage.
"Charge Beam!" Liam called. The electric attack fired off and hit Dusknoir. Dusknoir used Shadow Punch again, and scored a critical hit. Liam called for another recover. Dusknoir then missed with a Shadow Ball, and Sherlock responded with his own. The two Pokémon next tried to hit each other with punches, Dusknoir's Shadow Punch, and Sherlock's Thunder Punch. Both attacks connected. For a moment, it looked to be a draw, but Dusknoir got back up, and Sherlock did not.
"Alakazam is unable to battle, Dusknoir wins!" The offical called.

The crowd cheered at the victory. Liam recalled Sherlock and sent out Sylveon.

Conway called for Lickilicky to lick Sylveon. The attack worked, and paralyzed Sylveon, much to Conway's joy. Sylveon responded with Draining Kiss, scoring a critical hit and sucking away a good deal of Lickilicky's health. Conway ordered Lickilicky to use Gyro Ball next, which hit Sylveon for a good amount of damage. Sylveon next used Moonblast, which finished Lickilicky off.
"Lickilicky is unable to continue, Sylveon wins!" The offical called. The crowd cheered again as Conway recalled Lickilicky.

Conway sent out Aggron next.

"Aggron, Thunderbolt!" Conway called.
"Dodge and use Flamethwoer!" Liam called. Smaug dove to the side, evading the electrical move and unleashed very hot flames from his mouth. Aggron took a critical hit and was KO'd.

Conway sent out Slowking next. Liam swapped Smaug out for Sceptile. In response to Sceptile, Conway swapped Slowking for Heracross.

"Heracross, Megahorn!" Conway ordered.
"Leaf Blade!" Liam called. Sceptile stopped the horn with his own attack, though he did suffer damage from the manuver. He used the oppotunity to have Heracross up close to spray it with Bullet Seed. It hit three times, dealing a little bit of damage. Conway called for Arm Thrust, which hit five times. Sceptile then used Dragon Claw, scoring direct hit. Heracross used Horn Attack, and triggered Overgrow. Sceptile used Leaf Blade and brought Heracross to a comprable level of health.
"Finish it with Megahorn!" Conway called.
"Use Leaf Blade!" Liam ordered. Both Pokémon were hit, resulting in a double KO.
"Neither Pokémon is able to continue. This is a draw." The ref annouced.

"Now, Smaug, Mega Evolve!" Liam called.
"Curse!" Conway called. Smaug became his mega form, while Dusknoir used most of what remained of his health to curse Smaug. Smaug then fired Fire Blast and finished Dusknoir off. He was replaced with Slowking.

Conway called for a Water Pulse which hit Smaug, and confused him. Liam called for an Iron Tail, but Smaug hit himself in confusion.
"Now, use Confusion!" Conway ordered. The psychic attack hit Smaug, who again hit himself in confusion. Conway next ordered Slowking to use Power Gem on Smaug, which hit. Smaug was worse for wear at this point, but snapped out of confusion, and was not too happy.
"Solarbeam!" Liam called. Smaug was able to instantly fire the move due to the intensifed sunlight and KO'd Slowking, leaving Conway with only one Pokémon left.

Conway called out his final Pokémon, Shuckle

Shuckle was ordered to use Toxic. Smaug used Flamethwoer but missed. He was on his last leg after the poison. Conway again called for Withdraw. Smaug tried to use Iron Tail, but did not do too much damage. Smaug fell to the toxic.

Round 9

Liam sent out Jiriya the Greninja.

"Now Power Trick!" Conway called. Shuckle's low attack stat was swapped for the much higher Defense stat. Jiriya used Water Shuriken, which only hit twice.
"Now, Gyro Ball! Liam wasn't expecting that and Jiriya got hit, taking considerable damage. Conway was certian he would be about to beat Jiriya as he ordered for one last Gyro Ball.
"Knock it away with Night Slash!" Liam called.
"What!?" Conway exclaimed. As Shuckle was about to slam into Jiriya, the later conjured a dark blade and hit the on comming attack as if it were a baseball. He turned Shuckle's momentum aginst it, and made it slam itself into a wall, KOing it in the process.

"Shuckle is unable to battle, Greninja wins. That means the one who advanced to the semi-finals is 'Dragon Mastrer' Liam Coleman of Blackthorn City!" The ref said. The jumbo-tron changed to only show Liam and the five Pokémon he used, along with the word "Winner".

Conway pushed his glasses up as he smiled. He held out Shuckle's Pokéball and recalled it. "That was a good match. It is just what I expected, and I hope we can battle again soon."

"Virgil is an interesting opponent." Liam stated. "He uses Eevee and its various evolutions. Personally, I wish I was the one facing him."

Before too to long, the month before the tournament came and went. Being the reigning champion, Shiranui had no reason to be entered into the tournament, as he would face the winner, provided they also beat the Elite Four. Over five days, the 342 contestants had been dwindled down to eight.

Harrison managed to defeat Nando, although Krikitune and Roserade made it difficult for him. Harrison advanced having all but Blaziken knocked out.
