"Blinding Ray!" Kudamon made an attempt to blind the enemy so the others could get into a better position. "That let's hurry up and end this," Kudamon called out. Kudamon was doing better now that he had caught his second wind. He may not be able to reach champion yet, but he was determined to do whatever he could to help the others.
"Well, maybe only one of us should take on the trial after Chuck today, but the question is who?"
Liam recalls Smaug, making a mental note to send him back next time he is at a Pokémon Center. "So, shall we move on?"
Smaug softly roared an apology and moved his tail away from Jen.

Liam walked up to Smaug and hugged him. "Thanks for the help, buddy," Liam said. Smaug gave his trainer a thumbs up.
Smaug had told the Buizel of how he didn't trust humans when he met Liam and his friends, including the story about the poacher who had tortured him and his mother when he was a Charmander. He also mentioned how a particular Pokémon [Saisei] however, he was very vague about the identity of the Pokémon who helped him to get over his mistrust of humans. Smaug mentioned that his trainer comes from the same family as the many nurses that work in the Pokémon Centers across the world, and how he, like them do not take it lightly when people mistreat Pokémon. While he personally does not know much about Jen, if Liam trusted her, that was good enough for him.
Liam had an idea. He told his friends to stay here, and he would be back real soon. He called out Dragonite and flew off to a nearby Pokémon Center, returning very soon after. He held a Luxury Ball in his hand, as most of his Pokémon resided in such. He tossed the ball into the air and Smaug the Charizard emerged.
"Buizel, Smaug here was once upon a time in a similar position to you," Liam explained. "I figured that he might be someone you could talk to."
