OhmLiam went next, using Goodra to deal with the various ghosts who stopped him along the way to the totem. When Liam approached the totem, he was about to call out Bastille when Oliver hopped out of his ball and onto the battlefield.
"Alright, I guess you're first up then, Oliver," Liam said. "Start with Ominous Wind!" The totem's disguise broke as its head began to droop to one side and Oliver's stats all rose one stage. The Totem called for help and a Banette arrived on the scene.
"Ominous Wind again!" Liam called. The attack hit both of them, scoring a critical hit on Bannette, who retaliated in unison with the totem using Shadow Claw. The two attacks hit Oliver and sent him flying, just short of crashing into the wall. Oliver got back up and began to glow white as he evolved to his final form.
"Decidueye, The Arrow Quill Pokémon. A Grass and Ghost-type, and Rowlet's final form. Decidueye can nock and fire an arrow at an enemy in a tenth of a second, so its battles are decided in the blink of an eye. It fires arrow quills from its wings with such precision, they can pierce a pebble at distances over a hundred yards."
Liam saw a note on the Pokédex page. "Oliver, use Spirit Shackle!" Oliver pulled an arrow of a dark-colored energy and let it go. It soared past the totem and struck its shadow, causing considerable damage. The Banette flung a Shadow Ball at Oliver, while the Totem's own Shadow Ball missed. Oliver was looking worse for wear and was recalled, much to his dismay and swapped out for Poiple.
Banette tried to use Sucker Punch, but it failed due to the swap out, and the Totem used Play Rough, having not expected the swap either.
"Poison Jab on the Totem!" Poiple did as instructed and KO'd the Totem. The Banette flung a Shadow Ball at Poiple, who dodged to the side of it, snickering. Another Poison Jab, and it was over. The Totem gave Liam the Z-crystal and showed him the movements. Liam thanked the Totem and left it and its friend some berries to recover their health.
