Seraphian home system From the darkness of the void, they came. First the scouting fighters to make sure that the path was clear, then the frigates to offer cover and support for the scouts. The cruisers arrived shortly after the landing zone was secured to ensure that it stayed that way before finally the flagship Judgement of Carrionof warband Blood Harvest arrived in system. They would have the honor of first contact with the heathen xeno's that lived in this system and they would be the ones to enlighten them of the might of the true gods. As the heavily armed and armored ships sailed silently through the void of space towards the planet, the scouts went ahead to scan the planet for a good foothold on the planet proper. Several possible sites were found and considered before one was finally selected. It was admittingly a little ways away from the nearest settlement but the remoteness only helped ensure its tactical value, nestled between three mountains with only one side open enough to allow access to and from the chosen site. There was a lake there that was being fed by a river from the mountains but its safety would have to be confirmed by some of the Mortarion agents that had come along for the right to say they were among the first to set foot here before it was considered a drinking source. There were even defensive positions that could be taken on the mountains surrounding the landing site that would be taken and secured alongside the rest of the foothold. The ships of warband Blood Harvest arranged themselves above the chosen landing zone, their intention to ensure that this corridor of entry would remained open and secure for supplies, warriors and equipment that needed to go planet side or things that needed to be sent off world. And anything that tried to interfere with that would wind up very much dead. Without fanfare but with an atmosphere of excitement none the less, landfall was made. ................................. Summary: The warband Blood Harvest has made landfall on the Seraphian home world and is currently working overtime to ensure their foothold on the planet. Warmaster Sif is currently ongoing recovery and training in her new biotic powers back on Tizca.
As the door was more or less opened due to the surprise of his appearance, Loki took advantage of the strange hybrid's confusion and eventual decision to attack the strange man in the spider outfit to inspect the room the creature had come out of. The inspection revealed the source of the blood at least... the pile of meat that had once been a woman was quite clearly dead and her soul was now in the care of Hel or whoever her counterpart was nowadays. There were a great many reasons Loki hadn't gone to visit the realm of his daughter, but that was clearly neither the time nor the place to focus on the past. Turning his attentions towards the spider man and humanoid hybrid, Loki looked at his newly discovered blood covered foe as he considered his options. Physically attacking the thing was rather upfront and seemed to be the best course of action... But a little bit of an illusion to aid the attack wouldn't go astray... Thus, a loudly squealing piglet appeared on the other side of the Spider/Raptor man conflict, making a hell of a noise as it was clearly freaking out. Small, helpless and tasty... just the way all top predators like it! When the hybrid turned its head away from the young spider-themed hero and toward the shrilling piglet, its two halves were in conflict. While a velociraptor would not have know what a pig was, his human half knew the joys of pork. The memory of this savorous meal just goaded on the man's prehistoric half. Instead of making a second attack against the young man, the human-raptor leaped toward the hapless pig, hoping to dig its claws into its flesh. Before Loki stood a dumbfounded young man, clad in a red and blue costume. While the young man's mask concealed his facial expression, it was obvious by his body posture that he was confused at what was happening, particularly why a pig suddenly popped out of nowhere. While the dinosaur-man was being distracted by the pig-illusion, the young man took the opportunity and attempted to create some separation between himself and his former combatant. As the claws of a predator from an era long past pieced pig flesh, instead of the shredding of skin and pained death squeals that such an even would normally warrant there was a flash of light so bright as to be blinding for a second before fading away to revel two smaller, freaked out piglets siding beside where the original one had been standing. Both pigs would turn and start running away as fast as their light hooves could carry them, squealing all the way. "Er...I know this is probably not a good time to chit-chat, but I'm Spider-Man, if you haven't heard the mudslinging that the editor of the Daily Bugle has been spewing for the past few years." Turning to look at the admittingly straight forwardly named Spider-Man, the only response that Loki could give was "Call me Loki. And you're right; I'm not sure how smart that thing is but we should plan something out while its playing keep away with Piglet. What can you do?" "I'm Spider-Man! I can do whatever a spider can!" Loki looked at 'Spider-Man' with an expression that was often only reserved for smart people forcefully shifting their mental gears in order to understand and communicate with people much stupider then themselves. After precious seconds had dwindled by, Loki couldn't stop himself from asking "So... You frighten the hell out of people in general, have trouble getting out of the bathtub and have a phobia of shoes and newspapers?" "Well," Spider-Man started to respond to Loki's comment about what it meant to be able to "do whatever a spider can", "if you actually believe the crap that J. Jonah Jameson spews about me, which you shouldn't, by the way, then you might think I frighten people. In fact, that actually also covers the phobia of newspapers. Triple J. runs one! While I have no troubles with bathtubs, surfaces that have little friction does jell with me." While he was speaking, the human raptor was still occupied by the two pigs. No matter how many times the mutated man caught these "pigs", they kept creating two new pigs, just as the hydra of Greek Mythology regrows two heads when one head was hacked off by Herakles. Once the human raptor had "created" at least a dozen pigs, he finally gave up. No amount of bacon was worth this much effort. Instead, he turned his attention back toward Loki and Spider-Man. "I don't know if you have a plan in mind, but it looks like we won't have much time to make one." Spider-Man poised himself, readying for whatever move the human raptor could make. As the raptor man turned his attention back towards them, Loki rolled his shoulders a little before joining Spider-Man in a combat pose of his own. "How about we just wail on the thing for a while? Why go with a complicated plan when a simple one works just fine?" "Wait! You want to beat this thing to a pulp? Didn't you see that it has already eaten somebody!" Spider-Man said with concern in his voice. While he was confident in his own powers, the last thing he wanted to become was this thing's late-night snack. "It's kind of hard to have missed that, but I'm fairly confident we can take it. I'll keep him busy while you kick it in the back of the head." Bravado was something that Loki had long known the existence of but had never quite understood. He could fake it like a pro through; He wasn't even sure if the humanoid creature could actually harm him despite how fearsome it was to the average human being. No point taking any unnecessary risks through and it would give him an in to a possible ally... Some days Loki wondered if he was still a bastard or if he was just good at thinking like one... Preparing himself, Loki let out a sharp whistle to draw attention to himself. "Hey lizard, you've had the appetizer. Now it's time for the main course!"
I don't actually know how to put myself on the map...
Sorry for taking so long. Posted as well.
Tizca Grand Arch-Sorcerer Lucius was worried. One did not become the ruler of Tizca without developing a healthy sense of caution and paranoia because overconfidence and arrogance were sins that were often punished by death. It wasn't the upstarts 'honor' guard that were worrying him either; No doubt they would attempt to avenge their mistress when she died. He had already accounted for that attempt on his life and measures had been taken. No, what concerned him was that the process had been going for several hours now and the bitch wasn't dead. In fact the equipment reveled that her vital signs were positively healthy, if in horrific pain. This was not how things were supposed to go. Lucius had designed this test so that it would be fatal to anyone stupid enough to try it but, at least in theory anyway, have enough of a chance to be successful that he couldn't be accused of cheating. You could stack the board heavily against the test taker, but there just had to be enough wiggle room to make it possible for them to dream of success. So why wouldn't she die?! Like a funeral knell, the machine stopped pumping in the blessed substance of Magus into the chamber. After a life time of seconds had passed, the door started to swing open. Kneeling in the center of the room was Sif, but there had been... changes. The most noticeable of them was the fact that her scales had gone from a blood red to a reddish purple color, notable even through the sheer aura of biotic sorcery that was leaking from her body. The fact that one of her eyes had clearly paid the price for the process and was now a sickening mess of blue and white mixed together in an otherwise dead eye, the fact that she was breathing and her heart was beating was a sign that Magus had blessed her... That she... With a cry that bellowed fury, Lucius channeled his biotics into a kick that had once beheaded a challenging Angron warrior and sent it flying towards the still weakened Sif. Before the blow had a chance to land, Sif herself seemed to disappear... only to reappear right in front of him, her biotic encased fist already being thrown towards his face. It was the last thing that Grand Arch-Sorcerer Lucius would ever see. ...................................................................... Several days later As much as it irked her, Sif had to admit that she had needed to take several days after her ascension to Warmaster of Magus to rest, recover and retrain herself. The ordeal had taken a great deal out of her so her quest to unite her people under her banner would have to pause at least long enough to regain her strength. She also needed to be taught how to control her new biotic magic, but even the sorcerers of Magus had to admit that her usage of their magics was vastly different from their own. She tended to enhance her physical might instead of using it as an end in an of itself; That suited her just fine. Reducing that worm Lucius's head to a red mist with a single punch had become one of her new treasured moments in life. The fallout for killing the former Grand Arch-Sorcerer had been non existent after his foolish attempt to take her life after she past the trail of Magus became public knowledge. He had broken one of the few pacts that the followers of Magus actually enforced and had he survived her fury he would not have been around for much longer. A new Grand Arch-Sorcerer was currently being sorted out amongst those that could compete for the title, but Sif didn't really care about the outcome of that as long as the new title holder followed her orders and did as they were told. Lucius's elite forces had already been offered to her as a down payment of sorts for her crusade while the rest of Tizca got itself organized under the new management. They had already been instructed to join up with the first warband to get itself ready to move out. Sif looked towards one of her new found Magus advisers "Have proper precautions been prepared?" The adviser... She couldn't remember his name, nodded his head. "Indeed. The parts have already been safely locked away and study is being undertaken with the gravest of caution. What information we have already discovered has been made public. Your scout will be avenged when we run into his attackers." "And the report from the Angron's Glare has been made public as well?" "Yes Mistress Sif. New recruits from all the worlds are already flocking to join up with the existing warbands for the honor of being among the first to claim Xeno soil." Sif smiled hungrily as she simply answered "Good. Inform the first warband that is prepared to head out that they will have the honor of securing and holding a foothold. Any further operations are up is up to them, but a foothold needs to be secured above all else." ....................................... Summary: Warmaster of Angron Sif has taken on the title of Warmaster of Magus and thus has earned the loyalty and support of the Followers of Magus. Warmaster Sif has also gained access to biotic abilities that have never been seen before (Consider her the Subject Zero level version of a Vanguard). Reports from the scouts have started to trickle back in, both positive and negative. A target has already been chosen and the first Warband ready to leave will set sail with warriors of Angron, several squads of elite Magus followers and followers of the other gods that wish to get in on the glory. The betrayal of Grand Arch-Sorcerer Lucius has resulted in his death having little to no fallout against Warmaster Sif and a new Grand Arch-Sorcerer is well underway to being declared.
Anyone else seen that Ruby's character sheet for Thor no longer exists?
She PM'd me and said that she was dropping the RP. Also, Bright_Ops and I are working on a Spidey-Loki collaboration. Just fyi.
I think most of us figured that when Loki showed up when Petey was fighting the lizard. :P At least I assume it was the lizard? :/
Well, Raptor. But really the only difference is a few thousand years really.
Sorry for the delay Dedonus. My Graphics card was replaced much faster then I expected, so I'll get something going tomorrow. Promise.
Okay, got a new Graphics Card. The keyboard and mouse are still a little weird but one step at a time. I'll get a post up tomorrow.
Give me a little while. I'm having computer troubles.
Out of interest, how much contact did the other two races have with the currently infighting bird people before they civil war started? EDIT: I ask because if this is the first time any of these races have encountered each other, then A) This would be a first contact event and B) Talking to each other would be rather difficult.
