31 December 1899- Ushrian Royal Palace

It was a long held tradition of the royal family to celebrate the new year with a small celebratory party; At least, when compared to some of the other festivals that would take place during the rest of the year.

The annual New Years Eve party was truthfully rather low key as far as formal events went; Guests were free to pick and choose from the arrangement of food at any time they wished, the decorations were few but tasteful and there were several differing genres of musicians that were playing the ballroom tonight, changing the style of music and dance every hour or so. The New Years Ever Party had long been seen as a chance for the elite who ran the nation to get together, wrap up loose ends and try to start with a fresh slate for the year to come. To that end, a section of the palace gardens had been set aside for the purposes of dueling if the need for it arose. While it hadn't been used so far this evening, the night was still young.

The party also served as a means for the nobility to make new connections and arrangements with their fellow nobles in the past, but the rather recent inclusion of the wealthier merchants to the guest list had also opened up the discussion for new trade routes, business ventures and even patronage. While some of the old traditionalist nobles grumbled and complained about the invitation of 'peasants' to their high class event, they did make a point of not complaining to loudly as to be overheard. The winds of change were blowing and if there was one thing the noble families knew how to do it was how to trim their sails and survive.

"Forgive me Owlkitten, but it seems that Minister Artho needs to talk shop with me. I'll be back shortly, alright? "

"Fine, but do try to be quick Honey Bunny. You did promise me that we would dance tonight at some point."

"Of course. Try to have some fun okay?"

With a playful huff and a small "Fine." Queen Alanna kissed her husband softly before walking over to join some of her old friends as King Macdon turned to look at Minister of Industry Artho.

"Once again I am sorry to bother you your majesty, but have you had the chance to read my latest report?"

"I was actually reading it earlier this evening but I had to get dressed for the party before I could get into the fully details. You mentioned something about protests and strikes?"

"Afraid so your majesty. It seems that the import of foreign technology that was used to greatly enhance our ability to produce goods has met with something of a backlash. There is a small group of craftsmen from factories who are protesting and striking over a desire to return to the old ways while traditional craft is disappearing. One of their main rallying points is that they are afraid that we are sacrificing our culture for greed. It's still early days and those doing the protests and strikes are still fairly civil at this point but if we ignore it or if someone starts to antagonize them this could easily spread out of control like a forest fire. "

The King was silent for a moment as he considered the issue that his minister had raised. He trusted the man's assignment of the situation since he made a good point to employ intelligent ministers and if he said that this needed to be addressed then so be it. "Very well. I believe I will attend to this matter personally. I want you to send invitations out to the leaders of these strikes and protests to an appointment with me on... let's make it the forth. Might as well give them time to get the invitation and make their way here after all. I assume you'll be able to be present?"

"Of course your majesty."

"Very well then. If that is your only concern might I recommend the grilled salmon. The chefs really have done Ryūjin proud this evening."

And with that the evening continued on as the wheels of politics turned.

.........................

Summery: Having heard of the strikes and protests, the King has offered the leaders of said strikes and protests an invitation to meet with himself and the Minister of Industry and discuss the matter like reasonable adults.

@Shadowcatcher

Honestly, you could use that confusion IC. But the short version is that since Hebigami has stopped responding Zee is being removed from the party and is being replaced by Raito... provided he can convince the party not to just kill him.
So do I have to Pm my response to the strikes and protests or can I address that with an IC post?

EDIT: Would you be against Pm'ing the discussing between myself and the protest leaders Gowia?
@gowia

Wonderful. I assume that I will be informed about what the protects and strikes are about in the new future?
And finished my Nation Sheet. I can post it again if you wish.
Posted. Hopefully it was a good entrance.
To say that Raito was rather annoyed by the current situation was a bit of an understatement. Undoing your own bonds when your hands were tied behind your back was a time consuming process that generally required a lot of focus on the task and having to listen to two grown men choking to death on chlorine gas wasn't helping.

It was quite a sad fact of life that many other shinobi would have, when ambushed with five to one odds by a shinobi team that was about the same level as them that had a mixed bag of deadly melee and ranged fighters would have decided to charge in screaming at the top of their lungs and most likely have gotten killed for it. Raito had examined the situation carefully, thought over the pros and cons of fighting and decided to surrender peacefully instead. A chance to escape would no doubt present itself and allowing himself to be escorted peacefully meant that he would be in a much better condition to take advantage of it when it did.

The squad of chunnin from different villages had handed him over to a couple of men in order to watch him so that they could go and take part in the exams. The men had believed that with his hands tied behind his back and his weapons removed from him that they could have kept their prisoner under control. They were dead wrong in that regard.

Finally managing to work his hands free, Raito took a few moments to recover his equipment from the bodies of his former jailors. With a sigh, he started towards the door. He was rather thankful that he knew for a fact that at least one of his cousins were on the staff overlooking the exams; Things needed to be worked out and it always helped if you were working with someone you knew.

......................................................

It hadn't taken Raito long to find his cousin and once recent circumstances had been explained things had happened quickly and (More importantly) quietly. A diplomatic incident was the last thing anyone wanted to deal at the moment after all.

This did leave the other glaring problem that was Raito's current standing in relation to the S.E.T.U exams. Had the exams been held by any other village he would have been out of luck and asked to retake them in a few years, but in Konoha he had the kind of connections that could afford him a little... leeway in that regards. A quick briefing and a couple of files being copied later and Raito was darting through the forest, seeking out signs of his teammates in order to properly join them, a folder tucked away safely under his arm. It would do little good to walk up to his team without proof that he was meant to be on it after all.

Following the sounds of combat, the first engagement that Raito had come across belonged to the very team that had tried to remove him from the exams to begin with. While he could only account for four of the team, at least two of them were quite clearly dead and the remaining ones were clearly not going to withstand the assault by a surprisingly able team of what appeared to be bandits for much longer. Without reveling himself Raito continued to look elsewhere.

The second engagement he had zeroed in on had ended before he had arrived, but a quick look at those still standing confirmed that four of the people still standing were his teammates... as well as the location of the final, missing member of the squad that had caused all the problems in the first place.

This had to be handled carefully. Outright attacking the infiltrator off the bat would just backfire since the rest of the team would naturally assume he was hostile and side with her.

Taking a deep breath, Raito jumped into the clearing, landing a fair distance away from the other shinobi so that they would clearly see him coming, his cane linked to his belt so that his hands were free and he could show that he wasn't hostile. "Good morning." Was a simple enough greeting, but it would serve to alert them if they had somehow missed him before.

Despite the fact that he was unarmed, Raito wasn't stupid and was already in the process of dodging when the first bright ball of burning light was launched at his head. A quick cartwheel allowed him to dodge the second ball of what he seemed would be burning death while a few quick hand seals resulted in him spitting out what appeared to be a wall of water that was almost immediately struck by a third such ball, resulting in an explosion of steam that shrouded where Raito he been for a few seconds.

When the steam faded away, Zee's Wind Talon powered drop kick struck the masked man right in the chest, only for the splintering of wood to fill the air as the wooden branch that had been substituted shattered under the blow. The flare of pain that the strain of doing such a physical attack on Zee's damaged bones would cause her to flinch and stumble.

At a different entrance to the clearly, Raito presented himself once again, a strangely good cheer in his voice as he offered "Why, it's almost as if you are afraid of me talking for some strange reason. I wonder why?" His tone losing the cheer quickly, Raito acted fast in order to get the infiltrator to stop attacking him while ensuring that his own team didn't just bum rush him. "Look, I saw the rest of your team on the way here. Two of them were already dead and the other two didn't look like they were going to last when I left. I bare no ill will against you because I have to admit your plan to infiltrate another team was a good one but the rest of your team has failed you and made the point of this battle meaningless. I am asking you to cut your losses and walk away with your life."

Hopefully it would be enough to make the girl see reason and the rest of his team pause long enough to hear him out and allow himself to present the files proving they were meant to be on the same team. Things would get nasty otherwise.
Nations Name: The Kingdom of Andramedie

Flag:

Form of Government: Autocratic Monarchy

Describe the System: The Kingdom of Andramedie has proudly maintained the power of the Monarchy while other nations abandoned their noble class to embrace the sin of 'Democracy'. Due to the royal family maintaining an iron grip on the various powers of state, the current ruling King and Queen have an almost unprecedented amount of freedom to enact their desires or change what they wish with little to no legal restraint against them. Below the thrones lay a number of titles and official positions that carry high prestige and a number of responsibilities to manage the certain departments and functions of the kingdom at large and put in charge of small armies of civil servants in order to ensure that the kingdom functions correctly.

Location on Map Desired: The large island just south of Modensa. The one that looks like a sting ray.

Capital: Ushrian- Located in the small bay at the mouth of the canal between the Kingdom of Andramedie and the main continent of Modensa. Home to the Ushrian Royal Military Academy.

Important Settlements: Olkeet- Located at the southern cape of the island and spread out over the three small islands found there, Olkeet is home to the nations primary shipyard and docks. Almost everyone who lives and works in the city are in some way connected to the kingdom's navy.

Kinyo- Located on the larger island of the Isle of Kinyo, Kinyo started off as a fishing village that grew over the years into a rather large city. The major hub of the north, it also processes a rather large and impressive number of docks and shipyards, second only to those of Olkeet.

Mac'dien- The city of Mac'dien is located on the west coast of the Kingdom of Andramedie, located on the arm of Toki Bay (Located on the northwestern point of the island). Mac'dien started off as a naval base in order to control access to the canal found between the large islands of Modensa and grew from there.

Artayan- A military base/city located just inland of the islands southern coast, almost all military personal pass through this city during the course of their training.

Petien- Located in the middle of the island kingdom, Petien is the hub of industry, agriculture and trade for the kingdom. It's location allows it to connect the other major cities in the kingdom which has lead to its current status.

Description: The Kingdom of Andramedie has long worshiped a pantheon of dragon gods that embody different realms:
Ryūjin - Dragon Deity of the Sea.
Amaterasu - Dragon Deity of the Sun.
Mikoto - Dragon Deity of the Moon.
Inari - Dragon Deity of Fertility and Deviance.
Lyth - Dragon Deity of Death and War.
Meka - Dragon Deity of Industry and Wealth.

While it is fairly common for a city to have a major temple dedicated to one of these deities, there is generally a temple dedicated to each of them, if only to appease the one it was dedicated to. Cities and buildings within the kingdom tend to be of oriental style, with the sections of the city belonging to the noble or merchant classes end to be made of more artistically pleasing, expensive stones and woods while the more labor focused peasant class tend to use stones and wood that are more readily available and cheap.

The kingdom has long used the silver standard, using it in their coinage. The Kingdom of Andramedia primarily speaks Andromedian; The Language of Meows.

Important Characters:
King Macdon- The young King of the kingdom, the first thing that the twenty year old king did when he ascended the throne was to have everyone with Any possible claim to his throne executed in order to secure his position as head of his nation. While this rise to power was somewhat more bloody then normal, those nobles not personally affected by the purge kept their heads down and their mouths shut while those of the lower classes generally approved of the move due to the chance to increase their own respective influences after the heads had stopped rolling. So much in fact that King Macdon would marry the daughter of one of the nations more successful merchants instead of a noble woman like tradition dictated.

Queen (Consort) Alanna- The daughter of one of the kingdom's more important merchants, Queen Alanna and the now King Macdon had gotten to know each other growing up, both of them being smitten with the other but unable to officially be together due to traditional expectations. When Macdon became king and purged a large number of the noble class in order to secure his position, he asked Alanna to marry him and she readily agreed. Queen Alanna is openly a devote worshiper of the goddess Inari and while she is reviled by the noble class she is considered the people's queen by those of the lower classes.
