Juniper awaited amongst the crowd, practically bouncing. She was physically trying to stay still, but it was pointless. She was far too nervicited. She was here! Akatsuki Academy! The place where heroes are made! She scanned the crowd, looking for someone even remotely as animate as herself. There were a couple of faces that looked suitably upbeat, but most of her future classmates were wearing stoic masks. Lame! How were they not all buzzing? What kind of person wants to look stern and serious when they are literally going to a hero academy?

Skipping inside, her pink hair and dress making her stick out like a sore thumb despite her miniscule size, Juniper noticed a girl dressed like Little Red Riding Hood leaning against a tree. She smiled and waved vigorously at the fairytale girl, but got nothing in response.

"Damn, that girl's self entitled bitch face game is on fleek." a masculine voice said from the left of her. Looking over, she saw a tall, dark-skinned, snowy haired fellow. "Either that or she feels like she can kick everyone's ass." He continued. Juniper moved a little closer to this boy. She took sassy over serious any day.

The gates were locked behind them, a newcomer squeezing past at the last possible minute. Whilst everyone else panicked, Juniper just grinned. There was no need for her to panic. She had total faith in her trusty War-Pick,which she drummed on delicately as she waited.

"Welcome to Akatsuki Academy, applicants." Began an important looking woman from a platform "I'm the Senior Instructor Reiko Asamiya, however most of you might have heard of me by the moniker of Scarlet Sage. I'll be handling your education along with the other teachers. Now that the introductions have been made, let me go straight to the matters at hand. I'm sure most of you think you are here to become heroes and heroines, to fight for justice and defend the weak. Thus, before anything more is said, I ask of you. What is a Chaser?"

"Hold up quick question, is this place just filled with a bunch of basic white skinny bitches? Because that's all I'm getting from looking at most these people here; some of you motherfuckers need to eat a goddamn sandwich."

Juniper, being the skinniest and whitest of bitches, looked up at the taller boy. "What kind of sandwich? Like a hotdog or a jam sandwich or... or an Ice-Cream Sandwich!" Juniper's face lit up immeasurably at the thought of an ice-cream sandwich. What kind would she have? Strawberry? Chocolate? Vanilla? Mint choc chip? Neapolitan! Definitely Neapolitan! And two chocolate wafers on the top! No, no, fairy bread! Make it a proper sandwich! Fairy bread, jam and Neapolitan ice-cream! Yes, she would like a sandwich like that very much.

When she snapped back to reality, two of the students were yelling answers to Reiko's question
"A chaser is a cool dude who fucks shit up!"
"It means you're a hero of the Crimson sky!! Bound to protect people that can't protect their selves!"
Juniper's arm practically wrenched out of the socket as she threw her hand in the air "Oh! Oh! I think I know!" she cried. What was it her Dad said? "A Chaser is... it's a person who hunts down evil creatures called You-Kai who feed on the weak and foolish. And.. something about a Prince who killed a bunch of people a long time ago and that's why the moon's all red or something. And not all the Yoo-kay are evil, so Chasers should only hunt the bad ones!" Her Dad had talked with her about this, but she couldn't remember all the details. Ah well, it probably wasn't important.

But that's just like how it's. Anime disks are ridiculously overpriced as an industry standard, there's nothing one can do to avoid that. Have you ever seen how much Yuuki Yuuna's box costs? It's amazingly beautiful, but really, only a mad person would buy such an overpriced thing when the anime is available on Chrunchyroll for a mere few bucks per month.

It's not as simple as that. Our HMV doesn't stock it, I'm miles away from any other village and I refuse to pay Amazon's ridiculous £40-odd prices for it. RWBY was only a tenner each.

@KoL Let's just put it as, he learns it and loses it when he gets another power, but if he sees a different better power he'll take it, like if he fights Crimson and takes her flash step, and fought someone else that had a cooler power ( in his case ) the he'd take it and lose the flash step because he's focusing on the new power. I guess you can say he's like a pokemon, he remembers certain moves but can't keep them all.

I feel like Eiko and Crimson will be good friends

Wait, what if he uses a "stockpile" Manifestation i.e. Juniper's ability to hold back pain and fatigue. Say he holds something in, then switches power. What happens to that excess energy?

Appearance: Juniper stands at 5'1 and weighs 111 pounds. Long pink hair and matching eyes, she is pale skinned and gymnastic. She has fairly cute features, which she only boosts with her big smile and excitable nature. On her wrists and ankles there are brands from the shackles she used to wear in her old slave days.

Juniper's clothes consist of thick armour. When she isn't wearing heavy gear, she likes pink. Lots and lots of pink. Pink skirts, pink dresses, pink tops and trousers, pink jackets. It lights her up like a beacon. Just look for a short girl in pink and that's most likely going to be Juniper.

Personality: Juniper is, in the nicest possible way, very excitable. She doesn't walk as much as she does bounce, and even the smallest thing can make her crack a mile long smile. She's cheerful, optimistic and upbeat, always looking on the bright side of life - no mean feat, as anyone can assure you. She adores sweet things, cute things and pink things. It could be a brain-eating demon from hell and she'll find it adorable if it's the right shade of fuschia. It takes a hell of a lot to get Juniper worried about something, and a hell of a lot more to make her melancholy.

Ultimately, she is most at home on the battlefield. Something about having boundless energy and utter jubilation even in the most life threatening of situations. She skips, dances and plays around the foe, regardless of their strength and skill, yet still performs well. She favours the war-pick as her weapon of choice, though she's perfectly happy using any heavy weapon. Tiny little daggers and short swords are beyond her. Despite her bouncy, quirky nature, she has something of a cruel streak and she's not above using violence to achieve her ends. Like anything else, she carries this out with total joy.

When she does get angry, upset or scared, it will be a very melodramatic display, often with enough waterworks to plumb a small African village or literal steam rising from her ears. She is very much a "slow to anger, quick to forgive" type and you can usually avoid her wrath by distracting her with something sweet or shiny. She's very materialistic, not thinking about big questions like what, why and how. She's a bit of a loudmouth and utterly shameless. Her short attention span can prove annoying, and her natural curiosity means she often pushes herself to find out things she isn't meant to know.

Short Bio: Pull up a chair, my friend, this is quite the tale.

Juniper Finlay was the daughter of a slave mother and her master father. As a child, she was sent to work down the mines, seeking out precious metals and gemstones to sell. Even at this young age, even with s harsh profession, Juniper was always going to be an upbeat, cheerful girl. Her arms and legs were branded by the superheated shackles, and she laughed and shrugged it off like it was nothing. She spent nine tenths of her time collared to a rock underground, and all she did was learn to appreciate the sunlight. She spent her work life whistling and singing like a caged canary as well as gathering gems and metals. Being the daughter of her master, her relationship with her dad was very love-hate. Sometimes he would be very tender and caring for his daughter, teaching her things like maths and English and occasionally spending time with her the way a father should, but then setting her near impossible quotas and punishing her harshly if she failed to meet them. She became very learned for a slave, a point of both respect and contention in her camp.

Soon, though, the workers had enough of it. After a brief period of planning, the slaves revolted against the slave drivers, hoping their superior numbers and strength would outweigh their lack of training and equipment. The revolt was... a total; disaster and was crushed with ease. But Juniper, being content where she was, didn't bother revolting. Imagine the surprise of the prison guards when they went into the mines only to see young Juniper working away happily as if her colleagues hadn't just been massacred outside. Her master was touched by her loyalty. If it were any other slave, they would have received some token gift and sent back to work. But this was the master's daughter. Unable to continue to send her to work in these conditions, he accepted her fully as his. She was maybe 11 at this time.

His daughter's chipper attitude and great strength impressed him, and he soon realised that her great strength could be used for better purposes. Rather than send her to work in the fields or mines, he used her as a guard. By the time she was 13, she had took down three revolts not unlike the one she had ignored, the one that put her in her position of power. It wasn't that she particularly enjoyed her position, she just didn't see the problem with what she was doing. She favoured the pickaxe and hammer she had used throughout most of her life, and soon her father was developing a specialised weapon that she could use to greater effect on the field. Of course, slaves aren't the only threats to her dad's business, and she had taken on several Youkai looking for easy kills. Her first Youkai kill may not have been particularly impressive, but it was better than her fellow guards could do.
Realising the potential that his daughter had, Juniper's father had her shipped her off to Akatsuki Academy, hoping he would return to him a seasoned warrior who could lead and train his guards.

Manifestation: Reactive Armour - The more damage Juniper takes, the tougher she becomes. This doesn't make her invincible, but she becomes harder to kill and it takes more to injure her as she takes hits.

Weapons: Her trusty War-Pick, a weapon that looks like someone crossed a hammer with a scythe. One handed. Combines brute force with a specialised sharp point, making it perfect for busting through heavy armour. It is attached by a length of steel rope to the gauntlet she wears, allowing her to throw it and retrieve it at will. The tip can also be infused with FLUX or gunpowder, which allows her to either strike for added effect or blast the weapon out the enemy when it's embedded in them and back to her hand.

Equipment: Metal rope, both for reclaiming the War-Pick and for tying folks up.
