I appreciate most highly Your Majesty's tender of good offices in forwarding to this Government a stock from which a supply of elephants might be raised on our own soil. If you see fit to send them to our shores, I shall not protest. The battle for Richmond was a costly one. We undertook heavy losses, including a general officer. General Meade has been the highest ranking officer killed in battle so far. I knew the plan was risky, and the casualties could be great. I accepted that and made my peace with it. What I cannot accept was your conduct after the capture of Richmond. The Army of Northern Virginia found itself in retreat after your bold strike, and you failed to take advantage of your surprise. You sought quarters in the city instead of moving through it in pursuit of Thomas. What is worse, your delay in Virginia led to Lee pushing Sherman out of Georgia. You are hereby relieved of command of the Army of the Potomac, as well as your duties as commanding general of the Army. Report to New Jersey at once for further instructions.

Meanwhile Richmond fell and the Army of the Potomac seemingly have an open path to march all the way down to Charleston. You can have the Western Theatrt if I can get the capital. Nice update, RIP Meade.

It might work out to follow the original timeline, since the draft act was passed in 1863. Suppose I can do that in the next batch of war orders.

@AegonVI and @Byrd Man; you guys are aware that you can conscript more soldiers, right? The ones enlisted last update were just the ones available for that year. I don't expect the both of you to keep fighting with such small armies.

I thought we had to wait until the next update to get more people. Well, fuck it. Let's roll with it.
