Yeah, it was partly my fault, but blame the server anyway. It 404ed when I posted so I tried something different.

About 9 hours ago, it started snowing again. Within an hour, we had a full-fledged blizzard over the state of Minnesota.

Our second blizzard in April (first was on April Fool's Day).

An hour ago I got a message from my university telling me that school will be canceled tomorrow due to the weather. This is our seventh Snow Day of the 2013-2014 school year.

If you're not in the Midwest, enjoy your sunshine. I'll throw a snowball your way tomorrow, after I sleep in.

Actually data is used. Take Facebook for example:That now refreshs and updates in the background, as in when minimized not closed. On another note, I've used 15mb on this site so I don't think using 3G/4G is an issue for the site, as loveable as a mobile version would be, the site is usable at the moment. Perhaps for andriod users, trying a different internet browser

There's no dispute that actual data is used.

However, my point is that apps which take advantage of Google Cloud Messaging (so, in other words, not Facebook) can get their notifications pushed along with Gmail and other Google app notifications. Because Google owns the front-end (Android) and back-end (GCM), they can do this more efficiently than an ad-hoc push server, like Facebook's, which saves the user data and battery power. Apple's iOS has a similar method as well.

This means that, with GCM, push notifications are virtually free if the user is also getting Gmail, Hangout, Calendar or other Google notifications anyway. The iOS version should work similarly, basically only establishing a data connection when there is content to push, not just regularly checking in and wasting data.

Apps are more inclined to using a LOT more data. Push notifications, running in the back ground. I get 250mb of data a month and have never exceeded. Try turning your data off when you don't use it. That's always an option

Depends on how push notifications are coded. On Android, if they're sent through Google Cloud Messaging, they don't incur any real data cost until actual data is being sent by the app server. I believe iOS has a similar method for push notifications as well. Obviously, if you're doing home-grown push notifications from the server without any OS-level assistance, yes, you're going to have massive data spikes.

Running in the background, however, doesn't cost data. Only memory, which isn't something phone users are charged for on a monthly basis.

I kept this in mind somewhat, I don't plan assigning Deja a Padawan if I can get around that, she simply told Zak he could wait a bit if he wanted and that he will continue to train in the meantime. I plan to have Kraytan sort of come in later and say that Zak will become a Padawan whether he is ready or not. Hopefully at this point Zak will have thought about Deja's words and have a change of mind.

Krayton should assign Zak to Vor'loch, then. By the time Vor'loch is healed up again, Zak should be ready for the next level of training. Plus, it'll give Jerek something to do on Nar Shaddaa, start getting Zak ready for training (read: babysitting).
Ooooh, very mysterious, Matt. I want to know more about this Zabrakian teen.

And Jake/Sep, I'll try to write a response to you guys on Thursday. This week is hell for me, so no guarantees.
Jake, yes. I figured it's your turn to post.

Wait what is this about Jordan?I actually do not know strangely I have never really looked into the reproductive organs of a Noghri. However Bacta Tanks generally have a modesty shield and let us just say that his is active.

It was just a question, not an insult. I didn't mean to upset you, I was just curious. I've never heard of a modesty shield for a bacta tank, only its occupants wearing underwear.
