Haven't caught up with season 4 of the show yet, but as far as I remember it was supposed to contain more of the second half of book 3 than books 4 and 5, and there were a lot of epic deaths in the second half of book 3.

Yes, there are some interesting deaths. Of course, the OP has already encountered one of those. Though the show has moved several of them, such as the Red Wedding and the Daarios Naharis' betrayal of the Second Sons to Season 3.

Don't feel bad. It took me 3 years to get my AA done. Granted I had work and took some semesters off. As long as you finish that is what counts, yes?

17. Still in high school. Unfortunately, never had a job. Never paid bills. I can hardly remember the turn of the millennium. All of you are ancient. :D

I spent the millennium new year's at a friend's house. It was supposed to be this whole, big affair, but the ball dropped in New York like every other year. An hour later (and no Y2K bug in sight), I watched the footage of the ball drop and then went to sleep. Got up the next day and everything was normal.

Don't worry, you missed nothing special.

I'm 25 and just finishing up my degree (took a few years off after my first year of college). I'm looking forward to a final semester of classes, which, with any luck, will be absent of anyone under the age of 20.

Answer to Tick, hidden from Alpha

No, he did add more POV characters in Books 4 and 5 (more in 4, I believe, that's the Westeros book which occurs at the same time of the events of Book 5, the Essos book). You've met some of the new POV characters in Book 4 before, you've just never experienced the world through their eyes.

I think GRRM said he's pretty much done adding POV characters now, though. So, assuming that's true, Books 6 and 7 will have the same or fewer POV characters as the books have now.

Alphakoka, honestly, if this is spoiler-y to you, then you're not familiar enough with A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones. People die, especially the ones you love. Even the ones you love to hate. And if they don't die, they get maimed, physically or emotionally. Seriously, I doubt there's one characters who escapes unscathed throughout the entire books/show.

Sadly, Books 4 and 5 are quite sedate when it comes to deaths. It's as if GRRM lost his taste for the stuff. I'm waiting for another POV character to die, hopefully in Book 6.
