"No. This is somewhere to be. This is all you have, but it's still something. Streets and sodium lights. The sky, the world. You're still alive."

Here's my simple-minded white-collar worker who wants to learn the science.

This sounds like fun. I'm in, expect a character sheet to be up shortly.

Also, please tell me the CEO is a disgruntled and eccentric man prone to hating lemons like Cave Johnson from Portal 2.

EDIT: Ah, it's magnets, not lemons.
Got a post up, using the few shreds of context I have.
Garrett woke up to birds chirping, sunlight creeping through the windows, and the sound of kids playing outside.

He hated it.

The birds were too loud, the sun was too bright and the kids were mocking him. Maybe it was just his old age catching up to him, but he really hated waking up in the morning. Nonetheless, he got up, threw on his clothing and coat (double-checking that his blade and pistol were there), and walked into the kitchen. Garrett then tore off a piece of stale bread from the loaf, cut a piece of cheese off a wedge and ate his measly breakfast, downing it with a bit of wine that he sto- er, borrowed.

He then remembered: there was a mission today. Thankfully, he had woken up rather early, but still, he needed to get there, and fast. Gobbling down the last of his breakfast and drinking the rest of his wine, which dripped down the corners of Garrett's mouth and onto his shirt in his haste, Garrett broke into a sprint to make it to the headquarters (assuming the rebels have a headquarters. If not, disregard this).

Several hours later...

Well. That was bad.

The rebels had lost. And hard. They lost quite a few people due to the mistakes of one rebel, who was leading them. Garrett was holed up with them, wherever they were. Most were wounded, including the young girl he sat next to. She looked to be around her mid teens, far too young to be on a battlefield. For a moment Garrett thought about Winston, but quickly snapped out of it. "That could've gone better," Garrett said to the girl, his voice snarky and measured.

@sharksama
@Apollosarcher, ah, alright, I wasn't sure as to when this was set. I edited it.
Oh hey.
Third. Might make some edits to my character though, as I made this when I was getting back into RPing and have made much better characters since.

"Heh, thanks. Though I've had some test runs with Archie back home. Those ended with dad having to replace more than a few parts." Walter says to Connor after Connor thanked Walter for his handling of the jet. When the jet had landed, Walter quickly called for a cab, then drove home, exhausted.

When he arrived home, his father and mother were there, acting casual which meant that they didn't hear about the mission. Good. Walter told them about his day (well, nix the part about him going on a rescue mission and landing a jet), ate dinner, then went upstairs and collapsed in bed. That was quite an eventful first day... And if it was only a fraction of what was to come, Walter already knew he wanted a lot more.

The next day, Walter went about his usual schedule of getting up, getting dressed in his costume (nix the mask and hat), eating, then leaving while sliding the mask and hat on. He took a taxi to school, arriving just before the start. Then, he heard the announcement: there was another assembly. Walter quickly hurried to the auditorium, looking around for Hachi, Jasper, Light, and the others in his group, which he supposed were his 'friends' now, even though he had just met most of them yesterday. Then again, dangerous missions do help bonding...
@Apollosarcher, I know that they don't start completely upgraded. Anyway, I'll probably remove Pull (never used it in Brigmore Witches anyway, so I wouldn't find a use for it now).
