"Ugh" Alexander grunted as he got to his feet with Lily's help "right, I can worry about this weird animal nonsense some other time. Right now we've got other things to deal with" A brief second later, Alexander remembered the deal he made "Shit, that's right" He began frantically checking his clothes for the scroll, and quickly found it hidden in an inside pocket "Ugh, thank fuck. Hey, does anyone-" and that's when the screaming started

"AAAAAHHHHHHH!"


"What the fuck!?" he jumped in shock and horror. The sight of...whatever it was that Chloe was doing having caught him completely by surprise. "...The hell even was that?" His gut instinct was to call it necromancy...but this felt like something more. Before he could really respond to what just happened, the animals started acting up again to get his attention "Okay, okay! Listen, I can't exactly leave right now; there's a huge mess here that needs to be dealt with first. So home will have to wait" This seemed to calm them down 'Wait...did they actually understand that. Like, can they comprehend English or something? Fucking magic man' Tabling that thought for later, Alexander tried to change the subject from...that thing that Chloe just did "Hey um, this might sound kind of weird but; does anyone here know where I can find someone called the Guardian? Something to do with a Nexus or something."

A wave of relief passed over Alexander after Lily was freed. Waking up in a unfamiliar place to find her in that kind of situation had not be good for his nerves. However shortly after, something that she had said struck him "Wait. The freeloaders 'fought' with you? But how? They aren't-" he was interrupted by the almost hesitant approach of the three strange creatures that he had seen on the ground before. Before he could ask anyone what these were, he felt something strange. Looking over them, a weird sense of familiarity hit him. That's when a crazy thought came to him "...freeloaders?" It was almost as if saying that one word had flip a switch inside of the. All as one, they tackled him to the ground"Gah!" but it quickly became clear that this wasn't an attack, as there wasn't any biting, scratching or anything like that. "Get off of me you idiots!" strangely, they mostly complied with that, as they got off of his torso and allowed him to sit up. However his lap was still weighed down. "How did you three turn into...this?! No, more important; how long have you been able to do this!?" The animals didn't answer, because they were animals. Alexander sighed "Fucking hell, what am I going to do with you three?" this somehow only seemed to re-excite them, as they tackled him onto his back again "Fuck! This is not the time for cuddles, get the fuck off of me you morons!"

Alexander had a pounding headache "Mrghh" was the noise he made as he stumbled onto his feet 'where am I? What happened last night?' He wondered to himself, his memory foggy. It was then that he noticed that he was currently transformed 'Huh!? Why am I...? What the fuck happened last night!? Gah, my head is killing me' he tried using healing magic on his head, but it was only able to lessen the pain, not remove it entirely 'fuck, I guess this will have to do.'

With that more or less settled, Alexander looked around to try and figure out where he was. The first thing he noticed were a bunch of strange creatures (that felt strange to look at for some reason) held down by some weird string. Some weird puppet thing and- "LILY!" He rushed clumsily over to her "Lily, are you okay?" Once he got close enough to her, he noticed the weird string around her neck "What the? Hold on, let me get this" making a very small and thin dagger like barrier over one of his fingers, he carefully attempted to cut off the string. Taking extra care to not cut into Lily herself.

They had waited long enough. They had tried to let the others talk this out, in hopes that the Den Master would be returned safely. This did not happen, and time was running out. Therefor, they were left with only one recourse:

VIOLENCE


Bob and Tim rushed off of Lily, scampering along the ground to the downed Alexander. Thanks to their small size and quick speed, they were able to slip past the guards with ease. Dave meanwhile, took to the sky. Flying high above the ground, but still in the same direction as his comrades. As Bob and Tim got closer, a strange girl with a staff stood between them and their goal. Once they got close enough, Tim, with surprising leg strength for a stoat, leapt up aiming straight at her face. And with some wordless signel and a swell of magic enveloping their forms, they changed...



The staff girl now had to contend with that fact that the tiny stoat leaping at her was now the size of a small horse, with blades made of pure magic slowing forming around it's body. Dave meanwhile, fired magical formed arrows out of his mouth, to cut the ribbons being used to drag Alexander. Which left Bob with retrieval. Quickly forming a solid-magic warhammer roughly the size of a fully grown human, he threw it right at the portal, and with the opening that provided, along with Dave pelting the portal with more of his arrows, Bob grabbed Alexander and began to drag him to safety.

When the tentacles wrapped all around Alexander, his gut instinct after having been in the slammer so long was to tear them to pieces...but then Mariette started talking, and she was making absolutely no sense. 'Wait...Mariette is this crazy lady's daughter!? Where was this information when we went to deal with the invasion in that other town...city? Hold on, is this Mariette? Ugh, my head hurts and I'm so confused' Alexander moaned in frustration and pain. Too distracted by the thoughts in his head 'Arh, where even am I right now? I hate this stupid place so much! I thought that was one of Mariette portals, it did look just like...'

And then Alexander's blood started to run cold 'Oh shit. This is some crazy alternate world...right? So, are there crazy versions of everyone from...' A thought clicked into place, along with a throb of pain that maid him wince'Penrose. I knew that place had way too much insanity to be normal! This place is an even more crazy Penrose from another dimension! Oh fuck, does that mean I'm going to have to fight Wonderland me? Fuuuuuuck that's going to be such a pain. Oh well, at least I know how I fight really well, so it least it's not as bad as-' And as his mind searched for a more annoying match up, something deeply chilling came to mind '...Lily...' His body became slack in the tentacles' grasp 'I...I don't think I could fight her.'

Despite his former zeal Alexander found himself feeling groggy after hearing Lily's name. He was also developing a headache from the conversation going on in his head

'Everything must burn!!!'

'I mean, yeah...but I'm also kind of hungry, the food here is terrible. Also, I've been gone for awhile, I bet Lily-'

'Destroy them all! Slaughter, slaughter, slaughter!!!'

'Alright, alright! Geez, I'll get to that later. I've got other-'

'THE FIELDS MUST BE RED WITH FIRE AND BLOOD!!!'

'Gahhh! Stop yelling you...whatever you are. Hey wait, aren't I just thinking this? Who the hell are you anyway, how are you doing this!?'

As Alexander grappled with the strange voice in his head, he soon took notice of a familiar looking portal 'That...looks familiar. Oh, right! That's...what was her name again?' he wracked his fuzzy brain for the forgotten name 'Mariette...I think. Damn, why am I having such a hard time remembering her name?' As he absentmindedly gazed into the portal, he noticed a tall figure on the other side 'Huh? I thought...portal girl was shorter than that. Am I just completely off base here?'

And in an instant, the haze over his mind vanished "Hey wait a minute. That's the bitch who had me locked up!" Walking through the portal Alexander addressed the Queen "I've got a score-" but before he could finish what he was saying, strange tentacles came from behind him and held him in place, along with covering his mouth.

Thinking on it a little longer, Alexander realized that he could probably take those guys himself with just his own power"But I'm feeling pretty pyromaniacal right now" With the element of surprise still on their side (despite the rock music...somehow), Alexander grabbed a vial and after boosting his taking a few seconds to boost his speed, made a mad dash for the tank at the center of the convoy. Jumping on top of it, he ripped open the top hatch, tossed the vial in, and jumped off. The explosion of the vial set off the ammo inside, causing the whole thing to explode. The soldiers were briefly stunned by the suddenness of the attack, while Alexander started to giggle as a silly thought came to his mind "tanks are explosion piñatas!" After saying that out loud, his giggling changed to outright laughter.

This seemed to snap the soldiers out of their daze "We're under attack! Kill the invader"

"Good" Alexander replied "Setting trees and grass on fire was starting to get to old. Moving targets are just so much more...fun" As his pupils changed into a swirl, the rock music around him settled into something with lyrics. He blocked a shell from a tank with a barrier and cut down the first soldier that changed him. "Come on Brittny, there's plenty for both of us!"

The animals didn't seem to happy about this distraction. Dave flew off of Lily's head, grabbed her clothing with his talons, and began tugging her in the direction of the fire. He was too small to actually move her, but the intent was clear.

"Ahahaha! It even comes with background music!" Alexander cackled "Oh man, I've wanted to do this for so long!" He took a deep breath and basked in the destruction all around him "Oh Brittney, you have no idea how much this means to me. I could kiss you if I wasn't already dating Lily, I don't want to cheat on her. I'm not that kind of asshole after all." He looked over to the giant and waved bye "Well, I think we can leave this place in the fire's capable hands. Come Brittney, let us spread the glory of Fire to the rest of this rotten world!"

The animal trio looked at each other for a second, Bob twitched his nose and nodded, and then Dave pointed one of his wings in the direction of the explosions.

"See, since I can't just magic up some fire, step one is to find something that can" Alexander began to explain his plan, while ignoring the giant lumbering after them "Although, if we could find an active source of fire, that would be even better. Although given the tech level here, that's most likely to just be a candle or oil lantern, it's still better than nothing. Anyway, once we have some fire, then the real work begins; given all the greenery here. We could drop some fire in a few spread out locations and let it spread. We have to be careful where we drop it, since fire tends to be at it's most vulnerable when it's just starting out. So places out of the way that have a lot of burnable material would be the best" By this point, Alexander was now running on a barrier bridge in the air, far out of the giant's reach, as they reached the edge of the forest "Actually, now that I think about it; I don't even know what kind of magic you have. Oh please tell me it's fire, or that you at least have something on you that can start fires. That would simplify things so much"

The animals quickly scampered up onto the bike, with Dave sitting on the head and using an outstretched wing to point the way.

Alexander didn't scream in absolute agony, and anyone that says is either crazy or lying "Let the sun shelter my allies and smite my foes!" He managed to grit out. As he finished transforming, he quickly reattached his hand, and the pain faded away "Thanks giant, you did me a solid." he said genuinely as cut off Brittany's cuff with his sword. "Ahhhh. I really missed this feeling" he sighed in relief as he set Absolute Direction to search for something that could start a lot of fire. "Well it's be fun Mr. Giant, but we've got to get going now." He took Brittany's arm and then said in a voice that oozed 'bliss' and 'wonder' "Come on Brittany, let's burn this whole place to the ground" and he started dragging her in the direction that Absolute Direction was guiding him.

The animals jumped off of Lily, and ignoring whatever nonsense the humans we up to. Bob and Tim got to sniffing around, while Dave just kept watch. Then all at once, they froze in place, looked over in the same direction, and then rushed back to Lily to frantically try and push/drag her in that direction. Although given their small size, they weren't making much progress with that.
