Augmentations: Fret has poor eyesight due to an injury sustained while he was in the pan Eurindian army. As such he has a cybernetic third eye implanted in his forehead which helps him to see and has all of the functionality of a smartphone of that time.
Magical affiliation: None developed yet.
Occupation: Prospector

Backstory:

Fret was born to a family of 5 and was recruited out of school into the long range desert group. He saw action in the Himalayas and was present in battles between the Eurindian Technocracy and the Lunar Monarchy. The Lunar Monarchy having issued letters of marque that allowed the harassment and confiscation of goods and personnel from the Eurindian space ports and fleet. This state of affairs could not be allowed to continue.

The state of affairs that led to the creation of Eurindia was a period of techno-barbarism where warfare between rival cyber-enhanced humans vying for ownership or access to ever more advanced cyber technology and weaponry led to a complete collapse of the state. Out of this an extremely small group of enhanced humans formed the Eurindian Technocracy. During this period of unrest the Lunar colony reached ascendancy and formed a monarchy based on vast trading wealth from within the system.

Equipment:

Romer pattern rifleers rifle:

A solid projectile weapon given to line infantrymen of the Technocracy.

Stedholder pattern sidearm.

A backup weapon using solid projectiles and improved propellant.

Survival Bag.
A bag containing everything necessary to survive in the wilderness for weeks. Things included are an astronaut tent with warmth-conserving foil. Ration lamp to heat food via light. Miniature thorium "lifetime" battery of the Technocracy. Condensation collectors and poles. Improved aluminum boots. Sat-phone with backup parts. Oxygen scrubber canisters. Climbing ropes and tackle. Medi-gel. Ration foam. Maxi-fibre TM insulate clothing and bedding. Writing e-paper booklet. Knee pads. Hydrogen and Oxygen "tic-tacs". Prospectors pick and hand held diagnosticator. Cheap i-bay plastic astrolabe.

Thanks for your character sheet! I appreciate the effort you've put in. I like your character and the attention to detail you've given your survival kit.

I do think we'll need to work on the institutions you've mentioned (Eurindian Technocracy and the Lunar Monarchy) to make them fit our vision for Human society in the RP.

It is very plausible that technocracy has noticably changed the fabric of society across the solar system. With degraded survivability stemming from environmental collapse on Earth, and harsh conditions on their colonies in the wider Solar System, people would value cybernetics that help them to survive the new status quo.

It is also plausible that European nations, long plagued by stagnation and in-fighting, form a connection with an ascendent Indian subcontinent. I have already mentioned that the European Space Agency is still operational, which means the European Union probably still is too in some form. It could have splintered into factions though, with one being the Eurindian Technocracy.

The main thing i'd like to amend would be the Lunar Monarchy. I don't see space holdings (only a couple of hundred years old) being ruled by a monarch. However, it is plausible that Human colonies do begin to exert their own influence on Earth off the back of their unique mineral wealth. If Earth is divided and in need of their resources, it may not be able to stop the extortion of Eurindian ports and vessels. This extortion could be official and sponsored by the colonies, which would mean diplomatic relations between Earth and the Moon would likely not be great. Or it could be the result of organised crime, which the Lunar authorities themselves can't stop.

What do you think of that?

I cant wait to see the charsheet to start building my character. The bird-people sound so cool and i'd like to investigate their culture by sharing fireside stories and the like.

My character used to be a soldier in some war and later retired from injury. Obviously, the countries on earth might be different and the geopolitics will be divided up completely differently. I'd like to be left to detail that myself so i can tailor it to my character. Its gonna be something like the Napoleonic war or Battle of Trafalgar set in modern times.

@Steel LegionAre you intending for a character whose job was to find and mark valuable resources? I think that would make sense as a registered passenger, if they are working for them formally.

I have added some top-level details on the makeup of some KA civilisations:

"Like on Earth, the civilisations of Kanth-Aremek are developing in different ways and at different speeds. To the eyes of our Human interlopers in this world, the societies closest to the crash site could be described as 'Pre-Renaissance'. Whether this is characterised by the bloody slaughter between England and Scotland or industrious Yuan dynasty China depends on where you look.

Two powerful counterweights across the land are the Monastic Orders and the Guildhalls. Both in possession of cloistered and usually fortified communities, the Monasteries commune with the pantheon of gods revered by Kanth-Amerek's population. The Guilds varied between trying to understand and harness the power of magic, and using it to slowly perfect technological advances to sell to the highest bidder."

Yes i want to play someone from earth. Im thinking of a prospector a bit like people from the American colonization period, but with a modern twist.

I like that idea, we just need to think about how to position it.

The Jotunheim was preparing for its maiden voyage when it was forced to make an emergency takeoff. The most realistic avenue i can see for your character to wind up aboard is if they accidentally board it during the chaos of the attack on Stavanger Shipyard. Otherwise, for them to be a registered passenger they would need to be pretty influential. Almost to the same degree as space tourism today, as the Jotunheim is a state of the art vessel. Still absolutely plausible, just depends on what kind of prospector you had in mind

Fully understand that - everyone has their own pace and that's cool! We can potentially craft supporting roles for people who want to post at a slower rate. This would depend on you being comfortable not having as much impact on the group's strategy (unless you upped your rate during crucial points). There is also the option of you having a solo mission essentially once we get into the swing of things, for example going out to find help in a nearby settlement. You can then post entirely at your own rate, but i must say your chances of survival won't be great How does that sound?
