Vincent tries to wear bulkier clothes like coats whenever possible, making it easier to hide his mutation.

One of his most defining features is his mutation. A five foot long flexible tail with a spiked tip (pictured here) which protrudes from right above his waist that Vincent has complete control of. Usually he keeps the tail wrapped around his body to keep it hidden.

And if you look close enough you can see the nails on his hands are quite sharp, almost like claws.

Personality
If you asked for Vincent’s personality almost 10 years ago you would’ve been told about a rambunctious child with no filter. Prone to violent outbursts on the occasion but only because he was so emotional, so loud, so involved in the world. Things changed however after a horrible event. Vincent became far more reserved, quiet. But underneath all that he still hides all those emotions underneath and it killed him that he couldn’t let that out. After he met his best friend though things started to change. Now he has become a man who is quick to anger but only because all he sees is injustice, a man who would not hesitate to jump in and help people. Of course despite his good nature Vincent is not quick to trust people in most circumstances.

Origin
Vincent has lived in the ‘glamorous’ Azure City for his entire life, though he never saw it as anything all that special. After a few years of seeing all the flashy tourist attractions you see them as nothing more than that, tourist attractions. Vincent grew up with his parents and was always a troublesome and quick tempered child, and of course a spiked tail that developed close to around the age of ten didn’t help his parents in dealing with his outbursts. Eventually he learned to control himself a bit better but was still prone to the occasional violent outburst. Still though, Vincent idolized the heroes of the city as he grew up and dreamed of becoming one himself.

When he was 13 Vincent was tragically a victim of the mutant trafficking that was prevalent in the criminal underbelly of Azure City. Locked up and treated like an animal, like an attraction of some sort. At one point he even saw the hero who he idolized most. Vincent thought he was saved! But no, that hero was actually corrupt. Awful. And that was the first time his mutation was used to draw blood. It took 5 years before Vincent was finally rescued from that hell hole.

Eventually, Vincent reintegrated himself back in society. He got a simple job, started living his own life, but he had certainly changed. And he lost his faith in the ‘heroes’ who were supposed to protect them. But overall… life was going well. He even met his best friend who encouraged and assisted him in finding his dream again. Together they worked and he became a vigilante who got information and tracked down villains and corrupted heroes alike. Blood was drawn and some deaths occurred in regard to the extremely dangerous ones. Though to be fair, the world is better off without them.

Notable Relations
Lyon Forston- Vincent’s best friend who works tech support for a security company. He also works as support for Vincent on any of his outings while tracking down his targets specifically with avoiding or erasing security footage to help keep his identity hidden. Lyon is a kind and supportive friend and a major tech nerd who has helped Vincent through a lot.

Resources
Vincent could be better off but he has enough to pay rent and feed himself so he’s fine.

Everyday Skills
Stealth is a must with his night life.
Speed and running are some of his specialties.

Combat

Fighting Style
In Vincent’s mind, mutations aren’t everything. Sure his mutation helps him in combat but he tries not to rely on it if he can help it and instead use it strategically or in tandem with other forms of combat. Though most of his fighting experience and style comes from fighting on the streets, he has a habit of pissing off some unsavory people.

Though when it comes to fighting involving his mutation it’s usually quick jabs with the spiked tip of his tail either from over head or from around the sides, usually mixed in with other attacks. The flexibility of the tail also provides advantages in grappling opponents.

This is of course should he engage in direct combat at all. Normally he stays hidden in the shadows and strikes enemies unaware. This is what earned him the name Apex, because he hunts like a predatory animal.

Strengths
What Vincent lacks in pure strength he makes up for in speed and agility, dodging attacks and dishing out his own is the best strategy his is.

Weaknesses
There are several weaknesses to exploit with Vincent, first being his nature as a whole. He is still very animalistic sometimes and in a fight he gets very focused and very angry. This can be extremely devastating especially in fights with more than one opponent. Teamwork is also not a strong suit of his.

Vincent’s power gives him the sharpened tail that he uses as a weapon as well as strengthened and sharpened the nails on his fingers to work like claws. The tail has multiple uses either as an effective stabbing weapon or grappling on to people or objects. And has surprising strength and can easily support the rest of his body for hanging from objects or dragging other people. And with five feet in length it gives him an advantage in range.

Weaknesses/Limitations
Of course there’s only so much the tail can do before it relies on him to use it effectively. And while it is a great strength it can also be a great weakness as it gives the enemy more areas for their attacks to hit and where the tail meets his body is a sensitive spot and a weak point.

Extra

Inspiration for this character’s powers is Ridley from the Metroid series and the hunting style was somewhat inspired by the Xenomorph from Alien.

Strengths:
Hex’s proficiency in elemental magic and his experience with a blade and combat in general gives him quite the boon in fighting. Also due to his former occupation he is overly cautious, which can be good or bad depending on the opponent and how unpredictable they are.

Weaknesses:
Hex is essentially a glass cannon. Even with his capability to deal some major damage his body is quite weak. Any heavy hitting enemy that hits him will most likely take him out of a fight. He is also somewhat more lethargic than he was before, making him slightly less effective in melee combat.

The before:
Atrius was trained as a mercenary, trying to follow in the footsteps of his parents who travelled and worked for coin. From a young age he had a blade in his hand and he showed some natural skill. Not all that surprising with the skill of his parents. Atrius was able to see much of the continent and saw many wonderful sights. And in their line of work death was no stranger to the boy, though it never hit close to him. Both of his parents were able to see him grow into a skilled young man.

At 20 years of age Atrius set out on his own and wasn’t long until he got his first job, a bodyguarding mission. A young lady of a smaller noble house required protection in an area ripe with bandits. It wasn’t that hard of a trek in the end, a few minor scraps from the occasional attack but in the end no harm befell his charge. In the off time between fights Atrius and the girl began to talk and soon enough they hit it off. After the mission was complete she gave him an offer that he gladly accepted, become her full time bodyguard. It was almost like a fairy tale how things turned out after that.

Unfortunately, some fairy tales are tragedies.

The after:
It was 3 years later that the cultists attacked. They burned down the town that Atrius and his soon to be wife lived in and captured many people. Atrius, due to his skill in combat, drew special attention from them. At first they had attempted to break his body. They tried all manner of torture and pain but he stayed strong enough, years as a mercenary hardened him enough. The damned cultists realized that they had to switch tactics. They shackled him to the wall and he did nothing but scowl. That is, until they brought someone else. Dragging her by the hair they brought the woman Atrius loved into the room. After a ceremony which the poor man was forced to watch they sacrificed her to their damnable god. Atrius’ mind was shattered and he knew nothing but pain in that moment, he had been begging them to stop, tried to offer his life instead. But to no avail.

Atrius cried like he never had before, he was broken and now he was tired. So very tired… And then he awoke. With magical powers the shackles binding him were destroyed almost instantly. Slowly he rose to his feet, his body lethargic. Using ice and wind he slaughtered both the innocent and the guilty, extinguishing the torchlight and leaving the place covered in a shroud of darkness. Atrius never wanted to accept becoming a Herald, but he served the Gleeful Eclipse nonetheless. He wanted others to feel this pain. And he held, somewhere in his heart, this false hope he could retrieve her soul.

One HEX of a Dark Mage

Personality:
Henry is, to put it lightly, absolutely psychotic. But at least he’s a psychopath with a cheery personality. A dark mage with little to no morals is a volatile force indeed and usually meant to be avoided and the constant smile on his face makes it all the more creepy when combined with his love of violence.

Henry’s amorality is extremely prevalent to those who have been around him enough. He has done things such as extending a war by informing someone of an assassination plot so as not to “waste a perfectly fun war.” And is certainly not past him to throw away the life of innocents for victory in war. Though he has been seen protecting innocents under the orders of the tactician of his army, even at a tactical disadvantage. Even with his willingness to follow orders he has expressed his desire to rebel, and even kill, against his superiors if given a ‘stupid’ order such as not being allowed to kill.

Despite his tendency to violence and love of death, Henry is a surprisingly caring person when he finds people he actually cares about and will do anything to make them happy. He will even go as far as to curse people to death (which isn’t that far for him) for the sake of his loved ones.

Henry is quite the jokester, often making puns or macabre jokes. Laughing quite often in dangerous situations and ignoring the gravity of situations completely. This could be attributed to how slow he is to feel pain and how much he seems to ignore it despite disliking it. He also lacks a fear of death at all which can make him even more dangerous in a fight.

Henry also has a soft spot for animals and animals often love him in return. Being especially close to a wolf at one point and usually having a flock of crows surrounding him.

Despite his violent personality and a love of blood and gore, it is hard to call Henry inherently “evil.” It seems to be more a lack of morals and difficulty telling what’s right and wrong.

Background:
In the continent of Ylisse, there were three countries. Regna Ferox, a country that values strength so much that they hold tournaments to decide who will rule. The Halidom of Ylisse, a peaceful nation ruled by a benevolent Exalt. And finally the theocracy of Plegia, an aggressive nation that largely worships the Fell Dragon Grima. Henry was a dark mage who belonged to Plegia. When he was a small child Henry’s parents wanted nothing to do with him and abandoned him at a magic school in the country. The school was an awful place full of pain for Henry, he even described a spiked room he would be stuck into if he acted up and how he almost died.

When he was still a child Henry grew particularly fond of a wolf whom he would play with. This happy relationship ended abruptly when the creature tried to visit him at the village he lived in and the villagers killed the poor wolf. Henry found the animal dead and surrounded by villagers causing Henry to snap and slaughter the entire village.

Over the years and after his schooling Henry became one of the most powerful dark mages in all of Plegia and earned himself quite the reputation. Though he had no loyalty to his country shortly before the current war between Plegia and Ylisse ended and he ended up secluding himself in a place called Carrion Isle. Two years after the war was finished it was there that he was recruited by the tactician Robin and Prince Chrom of the Halidom of Ylisse when an army of zombies called Risen attacked the group. After assisting the group Henry followed along and helped in their endeavors to fight a war threatening the entire continent.

Shortly after the Halidom had finished fighting against another continent known as Valm, the nation of Plegia attacked again. Their new leader, a sorcerer named Validar, was attempting to resurrect the Fell Dragon itself using the body of Robin as its vessel. With the dark dragon Grima brought back to life the army did what they had to do, and through the blessing of the goddess Naga and the bonds of friendship formed the powerful evil was vanquished. Or at least, that’s how the story would go if it were not for Galeem’s all consuming light.

Ruin- A type of dark magic that is somewhat inaccurate but with a higher rate of dealing more damage than normal.

Strengths:
Pain Tolerance- Due to his constant dealing with pain he has built up the ability to deal with it very well and slow to realize it in the first place. Without him really worrying about pain he is able to fight well even while injured. “Oh, NICE! I'm still bleeding in, like, twelve different places! Look at all that blood...”
Health and Defense- For a magic user he has a surprising amount of health and physical defense (a 95% chance to get health on level up in game and 50% for defense with a naturally high amount in those stats from the beginning) though he can hardly be considered a tank.

Weaknesses:
Magic Resistance- Despite his high physical defense he has very low resistance and is thus very weak to magical attacks.
Lack of Pain- a downside to his ignoring of pain is that he is less likely to seek help if injured and continue fighting even if he shouldn’t.
Child-like demeanor- Even with his violence his personality is almost innocent, for lack of a better word. This can make him easily manipulated if you play to his likes.

Spirits:
"Not unless you count ghosts of people I killed, haha!"

Kindred Spirits:
Grima (Fire Emblem: Awakening)- The Fell Dragon itself… sort of. This variation of Grima is the spirit of the dragon in its hosts body which is a version of Robin. While stuck in a mortal body Grima can only harness a fraction of its powers. Despite them never meeting personally Henry’s attachment to its host helps make this interesting duo possible

Canas (Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade)- A dark mage like Henry, but differed drastically with his kind nature and love of knowledge.

Yashiro Tsurugi (Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE)- Yashiro is someone known as a Mirage Master who works with a spirit of someone from Henry's world, and has personally met two of Henry's allies, Chrom and Tharja.
