Echo Young

Location: The Mighty Bean
Interacting with: Jejomar via Test @SgtEasy, Tas @Lady Amalthea anyone in the Mighty Bean

The events of the party still fluttered around in Echo's head but she had managed to distract herself for the time being with school, work and of course, video games. She stood behind the counter at the Mighty Bean in her standard work "uniform" consisting of black jeans and a white blouse, covered by a white apron with a "Hello, my name is Echo" tag plastered across her left shoulder. She wasn't the biggest fan of working at the place most visited by almost everyone she knew, nor was she impressed about the 6am start of her shift, but a pay cheque was a pay cheque. That and she got free coffee out of it.

She glanced outside after hearing what sounded like Tas throwing a fit, but decided to make nothing of it. She had her own problems, like trying to figure out how she was going to act like she was still mad at Je-Je for what he did to Edgar. Her heart fluttered a bit at the thought. She hadn't seen him since she slightly blew up the day after the party after she had sobered up a bit. She walked over to the cafe's music controls, turning the volume up ever so slightly, putting on Me, Myself and I. To hell with the company rules for music, this was her moment.

She gently drummed on the counter to the beat, mouthing the words to herself as she dug a muffin from her lunchbag. Her stomach growled. The early start often meant she had no time for a proper breakfast and today was one of those days.

She grabbed her phone from her purse and checked the message from Connor with a rather exagerated roll of her eyes. She swiped over to Je-Je's number, pausing for a minute as she stared at the blinking cursor on the screen. She had no idea what to write to him. Would it seem too friendly right now to say good morning? Perhaps a simple "Hey" would be fine. In the end, she decided on a middle ground between the two.

To: Jejomar
Morning.

She quickly checked the time before tossing her phone back in her purse, watching her co-worker cross the street. Finally, the end of her shift. It took long enough. She quickly ditched the apron and let her hair down. With a swift movement, she dug the keys to her father's mustang out and shouldered her purse, walking out the front door. After unlocking the car, she hopped in and tossed her bag onto the passenger seat, revving the engine on her Mustang Shelby. It had quite the power for being from 1965, the purr of the engine music to her ears. She flipped down the aviators that had been sitting on her head and pulled out, flooring it down the quiet road.

Thoughts rushed through her head. Had she been too mean to Je? I mean Edgar had kind of brought it upon himself, but still. She had completely lost it on him, said some things that she now regretted. It had all happened so fast. Tears ran down her face as she tore down the road. She hit the clutch and dropped it down to the sixth gear, moving the car up to 100 Mph. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking in a breath as she sailed through a red light. Then everything went black.

Natasha's phone would ring. "Ms. Brinne? There's been an accident."
Sorry all, very tough weekend. Long story short, I evidently didn't get a post up. Expect one tomorrow night, I can write it in my spare.
SO sorry for the SUPER late post, but it's up. Oakley's adventures in the sky have begun.
Dominique looked down at her wrist-mounted altimeter, watching as the needle leveled out at 15,000ft. The last time she’d jumped it was to rescue a downed pilot, a HALO jump of course. This was nothing new. A casual “skydive” as civilians called it. Well, as casual as jumping out of a C-130 in full kit would be. She had never jumped without her combat gear on and so, as always, she stood in full kit looking as if she’d only just gotten off of a post. Everything minus the actual weapons was present. It was what she was used to.

She stood at the very edge of the now open ramp, looking over the terrain that was the Royal Marines base. Her comms crackled to life and she glanced back at Niko and the other two with a grin “Try not to fall too far behind.” She pulled down her sunglasses and turned to face the group, her feet inches from the edge of the aircraft. This was not a career for people afraid of heights.

“Alright, this is not a textbook HALO jump. We have a very small target landing and we’re jumping from a lower altitude. Our deployment altitude is around 3,500ft, however your chute will only automatically deploy at around 2,000ft, so stay conscious of your altitude. I’ll give a heads up when we’re approaching. We’re aiming for our portion of the compound ideally. Bonus points if you knock the beer out of Richard’s hand.”

After the team lined up with some instruction from Oakley --the one hour crash course in HALO jumping wasn’t exactly detailed-- she looked to the the light and raised an open hand up. As the light changed, she clenched her hand into a fist and jumped out of the plane with a roll, letting off a loud “Wooo!” as she did. It was the first time she’d been actually happy in a while.
Sorry, exams happened. I'll have a post up sometime tomorrow after my last exam, Saturday at the absolute latest.
@Lady Amalthea Update, real life takes priority. I'll be able to post sometime Friday/Saturday ICly. I come on the forums just to skim over the IC section and make some very short posts. You won't hear from me until Saturday at the latest, that I cannot change.
I'll be writing a post either tonight or tomorrow.
