@SouffleGirl123 Hey, how you getting on with your fella CS? :)
@Fabricant451 Hey, sorry this took so long to get back to you. They are both wonderful and meet the requirements laid out by the OOC. Please feel free to move them both over to the CS tab. :)

One minute she had been kicking ass and taking names and the next everything was burning and cold all at once. She was sure that she had checked where the shot that took the wheel out of the truck had come from. Apparently killing these biting bastards was more important to her than keeping her group and herself safe. She would never forgive herself for that. At least she had been the one to take the bullet and not one of the others. She could take solace in that fact. Better her than someone else.

Her sword clattered to the ground as her hands rose up to feel the warm blood that was pooling out of her chest. She had been shot before but this was something else. The dire changes between hot and cold was clearly evident. Her legs gave way first, her knees colliding with the solid asphalt of the road. She thought of Kris and Maria, at least she’d brought them back together before she was gone. Sisters reunited, a solitary smile flickered across her face as she fell into the side of the truck. Her right arm grabbed onto the truck bed long enough to let her swing her back against the wheel of the truck. Blood smeared down the side of it as her hands and chest rubbed against it.

She slumped down, her ass feeling the unforgiving hardness of mankind’s attempt of improving the earth. Her head rested against the cold metal of the truck, her back felt the pressure of the hubcap. Her left hand hadn’t left the gaping hole at her chest. Her right ankle was tucked under her left knee and her right hand was reaching out towards Ash. She wanted to call out, to give one last goodbye, one last warning or one last word of encouragement. Her left hand slid down, resting palm upwards in her lap. Her mind drifted to Calvin in her final moments. She'd be seeing him soon. Her smile remained on her face despite the searing pain that coursed through her.

She was gone.

The relief he felt just from stepping outside of that crowded gym hall was euphoric. He walked down the wall length a little to keep his smoke from hitting the doors to the hall and found a comfortable spot to rest his back against as he lit up. He took a deep breath and held it, letting the smoke slip out between his lips slowly at first, savouring the calming feelings washing through him before he exhaled completely. He rose his right foot and planted it flat on the wall behind him, he wouldn’t have looked out of place in a god damn clothing catalogue right then.

He leaned his head back, closed his eyes and let the sunlight soak into his skin as he calmed his nerves. He was terrified if truth be told, he hadn’t seen her inside but he knew she was already there. Why wouldn’t she be? She was the most organised person he had ever known, there was no doubts in his mind that she was organising all of this too. Especially since part of the reunion was inside her home, a place he hadn’t set foot inside for ten years. Damn, he felt old. This was insane, maybe he should just leave and apologise to Marc and Ash later. He absently flicked the end of his doobie, letting the ash fall to the ground. He heard a throat clearing and felt a soft hand grabbing the blunt from his hand. He opened his eyes and turned his head to see who it was.

It was Ada. His mind went numb and he gaped as his eyes took her in. Ten years was a long time but Ada seemed exactly the same except maybe a little sadder, so pretty much exactly how he’d left her a decade ago. His chest panged at the thought of that night and a frown formed on his face at the memory of it.

Ten years ago…

After everything that had gone down at Prom, Kai hadn’t been the same since. He’d kept the front up for everyone when he was out in public but when he was alone, he was a shell of who he once was. Sitting on his bed in his bedroom, the curtains drawn and nothing but a tacky little lava lamp that his mother had bought him, Kai watched the molten wax blub and blob in the heat of the lamp light beneath it. It was surprisingly calming.

Kai had never faced mortality and to see someone that he had known in such a way had shaken him to his core. He began to think about what he wanted out of life and he realised that he didn’t know. He had no idea what he actually intended to do with himself. His mind drifted to Ada and he realised that she deserved more than an overgrown child like him could ever give her. She needed someone with a life plan, with drive and ambition. Not him.

His heart ached as he thought about the thought of no longer having her in his life but he knew that he had to let her go, she deserved every chance she could possibly get and he would only hold her back. He knew that he would be hurting her and it killed him inside but he couldn’t consciously stay with her when he knew that he would only prevent her from getting the most out of her life. He decided to make her as happy as possible from this moment until it was time for her to leave for college. He wanted as many memories as possible with her before he lost her.

As time moved on and graduation approached, Kai never wavered in his resolve. He loved Ada enough to set her free and let her get the most out of life without him. If they came back together after he had found something to do with his life then that would be great, if not? Then they were never meant to be more than high school sweethearts.

The talk had been difficult and Ada had tried to convince him that they didn’t need to be apart and that he wouldn’t hold her back. He believed that she really felt that way but he knew that she was wrong. When she broke down, he had to keep himself from comforting her, he didn’t want to hurt her any more than he already was. He must have seemed so cold, but it was the way that it had to be. When everything was said and done, Kai watched her leave in the rain. He was numb and dumb. He should have done this at her place.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Present Day…

Blinking, Kai had to wonder if he’d heard her correctly. Makana… That was a name that he hadn’t been called in forever. He smiled at the sound of it, he hadn’t realised just how much he had missed it. She was right, and he felt shame as he realised how much she must be judging him for smoking the green stuff again. He then realised that Ada was holding her phone and that the phone had Marc shouting her name out of it as loudly as he could through the speakers.

I should speak… why aren’t I speaking? God damn, Malana just fucking talk to her! He opened his mouth to speak but she was growling at Marc on the phone now. Her eyes kept staring at him though, a growl clear on her face and her head shaking at him. Well he thought he felt shame not even a moment before but now he felt downright horrible. His gaze faltered and he looked down at his shuffling feet. He spied her heel crushing his former smoke and he began to chew the inside of his mouth and ran his fingers through his hair, scratching behind his left ear just for something to do instead of looking at Ada. He didn’t want to interrupt her call with Marc so he remained silent.

That’s right Malana, just you stand here like a wounded puppy, that’ll obviously make her happy. She’s absolutely not going to get mad at you for not even looking at her, no sir. She’ll probably thank you for being a mute idiot. Abso-fucking-lutely. He hazarded a glance over to her as she continued her conversation with Marc, she was looking down and chewing on her thumbnail. Uh oh.

Kai turned towards her, taking a step forward as he heard her exclaiming that Jessica was dead and she began to crouch down towards the ground. He thought the name was familiar but he couldn’t put a face to the name. He was very curious as to what was going on about her closet at her parents’ home and her dress but he knew better than to interrupt her conversation.

At the moment she dropped her phone on the ground though, Kai was by her side quicker than a flash of lightning. He dropped to his knees and tried to look Ada in the eyes. “Ada? Ada what’s wrong? What’s going on? Are you okay? Talk to me.” His eyes bore into hers and it took all he had to not cup her cheek like he used to do in high school.

Smiling at her, Cera handed the ice and towels over letting Tas take care of herself as she was more than capable considering she was a doctor. Her gratitude was nice, Cera knew Tas wasn’t as cold as she seemed on the surface. “No problem, glad t’help out.” Shifting to lean against the wall on her right shoulder, Cera listened to Tas’s tale of spelunking and heroism. It left her mouth hanging slightly agape as she stared in wonder at the woman before her. Cera definitely had a newfound respect for Tas and for Dom after hearing that tale.

“Wow… Tha’ is both terrifyin’ and amazin’. Ye really went above and beyond, both of ye did.” Smiling wide, Cera looked between the two as they began their usual banter and she chuckled quietly to herself in her usual manner. It was a shame that Tas couldn’t go out with everyone tonight, it would have been nice to see her outside of the hotel in a social setting some more but there was no way she could handle walking on that leg for long.

Cera started when Murphy asked if she wanted to hitch a ride with him. Had she heard him correctly? Her eyes widened like a deer in headlights and she gaped at him for a second, unsure if she could even remember how to talk. What the hell was wrong with her?! She gave herself a mental kick in the backside and coughed, clearing her throat as best she could. It probably would’ve worked if he hadn’t then leaned in close to her ear to whisper to her.

Her body physically shivered and her neck crinkled in on itself as she felt his fingers brushing her hair back. That definitely tickled. She felt like it took forever for her body to stop being frozen in shock but it really wasn’t any time at all. Blinking rapidly, Cera quickly licked her lips, swallowed the lump in her throat and gave a light nod until she could get the words out. “Y-yeah, that’d be swell!” Her eyes widened even more and she had to stop herself from cursing aloud. Who ‘eh hell even says swell anymore?! Fuck sake, Cera, get a fuckin’ grip woman!

No sooner had she gained her senses back, Murphy had thrown his arm around her shoulder and swiftly guided her out of the room. Cera threw out a quick “Bye Tas! Feel better soon!” before Murphy closed the door behind them as he started to chuckle. She shook her head incredulously and chuckled a little with him. Her eyes lingered on his face a moment too long before she found her words once more. “So ye playin’ match maker then? Also when did ye get a bike? I thought Owen was the only one tha’ had one in ‘eh hotel?” Cera folded her arms across her chest and grinned at Murphy before she began to make her way downstairs, Murphy walking along beside her.

As they reached the ground floor and stood outside Cera’s now broken front door she groaned. “Gonna have t’get Desh t’fix this… Bloody Marc, I swear t’fuckin’ god.” She opened the door and looked at the havoc within. That damn goat was the biggest headache she’d dealt with since she’d moved here. Her day had just gotten worse and worse so far, hopefully tonight would be better. She turned to Murphy and gave a warm, albeit bashful, smile. “Right, I’m gonna get this place cleaned up ‘nd then I’ll pop in next door t’get Dom to bring Tas her dinner. Can ye get Marc to come by when he’s done gettin’ every man ‘nd their dog to come out tonight please? I’ll see ye at dinner later before we all go out.” She patted his shoulder lightly as way of farewell and made her way into her room. Well that wasn’t awkward at all, Cera, well done. Ye jus’ patted a cute guy on ‘eh shoulder instead of doin’ somethin’ slightly seductive like lightly brushing his hand or arm or somethin’. Ye god damn mess, woman!

Heading into her room, Cera closed the door and started to gently bang her head on the wall. Kicking herself for not taking the perfect opportunity to flirt with Murphy. It was when some dust started raining down from above her that she stopped and then quickly popped her head out from her door and called out to Murphy one last time. “And if ye see Desh can ye send him my way please?! Thaaaanks!” She let her gratitude ring out like a song before she ducked back inside her room and got to tidying up the mess that Mr. Clops had left in his wake. She’d buy Marc a drink for getting the goat out her room but he’d also ruined her door so, it was pretty evens right now. She’d curse him out once he was done organising tonight.

Once her room was sorted, Cera went into her fridge and found that there were two whole lemon slices left in her Tupperware box. That was fortunate. Transferring them into a smaller tub, Cera made her way out of her room and walked to Dom’s door. She lightly tapped her knuckles against the wood of the door and waited for his answer, the box with the lemon slices in her other hand.

Time/Date: Late Afternoon/August 1st, 2016

Marc was ecstatic that everyone seemed to be in the mood to go out tonight. He still had to ask a few people but he hadn’t interacted with Owen much and he didn’t know where he was right now. He hadn’t spoken to Dom much, Cera’s neighbour, so he didn’t feel right asking him. Then there was Tas, he’d saw Murphy man handling her so she might not be the most approachable right now, he’d just ask Murphy to invite her along because Marc really wasn’t in any mood to get growled at. He was too happy to deal with that kind of thing right now.

He nodded at Alcander as he left to go upstairs, that guy was odd. Marc wasn’t sure what to make of him. Ananya’s reaction had seemed a little off to Marc too but hey, they both agreed to come out so that was something! At least his little fireball buddy Areum was excited for tonight. He could always count on her to be in the mood to party, just like Murphy. Except minus the alcohol. When Areum mentioned planning the night he grinned. “Right you are! But wait, there’s something on your face!” Marc ducked down to eye level with her and leaned in really close before kissing her right cheek and scooping her up in a friendly hug.

He spun her around lightly once before placing her back down on her feet gently. His face was glowing with a mischievous smile. “Sorry, I couldn’t resist! You’re just too adorable.” He started to laugh again before his eyes wandered to the entrance of the courtyard and his face split into a happy grin as he waved energetically. “Hey Murph! How’s Tas? ” He might feel like she didn’t like him, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t concerned that she’d just been knocked flying by Mr. Clops. He could be concerned and piss himself laughing at the ridiculousness of it after all.
