Public Service Announcement: When you DM someone for an RP, show interest beyond just a hello and an offer. Offer what interested you, and perhaps something to work with beyond just stating interest.

Public Service Announcement: Please remember that this is a "give and take" hobby. We are here to write, read, and be read. All three parts are important. If you want to be read, then you should read.

Bio

I'm a generally chill gomboblin that can be kinda particular. I grew up with plenty of electronics and video games, mostly with games like Final Fantasy, Zelda, and StarCraft. Lots of Nintendo. Dark Cloud is pretty sick. That's a lot of variety, and I do like to play a lot of different games. I like to blend magic and technology in my writing, bringing fantasy into space and sci-fi.

Magic in space is something that I find isn't done very much. Airships and spaceships could make for some cool centerpieces. Skies of Arcadia did a fantastic job of this. Perhaps that's not in space, exactly, but it's pretty close. Some of those ships may as well be space ships.

"But that's just a theory?" The minstrel was frustrated by it. All they had to go on were vague, indefinite rumors. With only a few days to cure him, it wasn't looking good for them. The theory that Karn's magic was overpowering and destroying him. The concept of a solution here was easy, but that left the question of how.

"Friends and family? Surprisingly selfish of him for a final wish, if he's just going to up and give up on himself." She wanted to pinch the little dragoncat, but decided better of it. "If only he could see what he has, right under his nose..."

The plan of Rian's sounded a little fishy. "A person?" A decision that most would choose to kill Karn instead, because they were dragged into it? "His plan sounds a tad unpleasant," she mused dryly, but set about thinking of a plan. Penny's pep fueled her, and an idea sparked in her head. "Ah, Penny! When I was kidnapped... They stuck these bracelets on me. I think they meant it to completely block my magic, but it just limited severely, instead. I was barely able to cut through them. It was good that Damian and that lady found me when they did, I wouldn't have been able to escape on my own. Those Nightshade guys were about to fly me away in their airship, too. Do you think it could buy us time?"
*snuggles and rubs ears* :D

Probably shouldn't let Regan sleep more than 2 hours at a time. Just sayin'.

The other Karn died of this illness. Ill tidings if she'd ever heard them. As she listened to Prince describe the illness, she started to think of ways she could cure it, but not before scolding herself for keeping quiet for so long. They could have done something about this a long time ago. She should have been more aggressive about this. Even so, there was nothing to be done about that now. Prince had mentioned black magic, though he had also dismissed the notion. Trinity wasn't about to drop a possible lead, but she had to remember that they did not have time on their side.

"Starved...?" Trinity grimaced. What a way to go. And then she hears he's just tired of living? What, had he let himself starve? Maybe she should make him stay at the Guild for a night.

So they were up against Lady Fate? "Let's focus on one thing at a time." This illness," she thought quietly for a moment before posing a question or two to Prince, "has Karn had it all along? Or did he get it somewhere?"

:D?
Private Durandal

With a hand from the squad, the young lady was able to retrieve her mortar lance from the wreckage of the building. Luckily, it was mostly undamaged. A little dinged up, perhaps, but usable. Someone noticed the injury on her back and got it patched up with a little bit of Ragnaid. The concussion was another matter. As the night continued, Regan became acutely aware of a vague dizziness in her senses, and a degree of fatigue that she wasn't expecting. Combined with a headache, she wasn't feelings so hot. She must have gotten hit in the head when the building fell. Probably by the roof or something.

After Sergeant Harold had declared that they'd be setting in for the night, Private Durandal decided to stop trying to tough it out. It wouldn't be toughed out, that much had become clear. "Nng... Sarge?" The young lancer held a hand to her head, staggering slightly as she approached him. "I don't... feel... so good. Dizzy... and... headache... nnh. Strange fatigue... not sore, just... heavy."

"Edolas Karn had something, too?" Trinity looked to Penny. She'd never really learned much about that trip. If they didn't have a more bountiful source of information right in front of them, she might have thought now to be the time to hear about it. But, Prince was here, and he was offering to share his information with them. Seemingly. She glanced at the fight in the arena below. In light of Karn's state, it didn't seem that interesting to her anymore. She'd have to make sure to fight for him, if her turn came before they could find his cure.

She pet the dragoncat softly, feeling his fur under her fingertips. She couldn't let him go out like that... Karn was too sweet. "So. Why don't you tell us what you know?"

Jasmine, from Black Forge Monthly

Ah, her brother's approach was so immediate. Sales now, worry about the rest later. Magazines live off of subscriptions, so the more long-term subscribers you have, the better. "You guys should be more focused on long-term subscribers, but if its what your boss wants, I suppose. Magic weapons should be a big hit for my magazine's actual demographic, so I'm trying to be a little more focused on my real subject." She'd give him an A+ for effort and energy, though.

Still, though. His was a fashion magazine. That so many people would buy that for news on the magic games... "However, perhaps you are right, Riley. But, isn't it strange to write articles about the magic games for an unrelated magazine?"
