"Aaah... I'm so hungry..." It had been a good week since Triko had left the confines of her cozy nest, shooed off by her mother for reasons she still didnt completely understand. While initially excited to see the world, Triko began to quickly realize the world wasn't as hospitable as she would've liked. She blew through her rations her mother had prepared in mere days, not familiar at all with the act of rationing. Sleep was quite hard to find as well. While the lush, verdant forests she flew across had plenty of trees to safely sleep in; they were a far cry from the warm, comfy nestings she had grew up in. By the time her rations had run out, Triko had to make do with whatever fruit she could find in the forests; which thankfully were plentiful given the temperate climate, but not as nutritional as a traveling harpy would need.

With no real goal to meet, Triko simply kept flying further and further south; until eventually the great ocean opened up on the horizon. It was as good a goal as any to fly towards and maybe take some rest, after all, Triko had never in her life seen that much water before. As she came closer and closer, a large port town caught her keen eyes; making for an excellent landmark to fly towards.

Of course, with hardly any food or rest, the poor thing was utterly exhausted. And while the details of the port town came into better view, Triko found her eyelids growing heavier and heavier.

"Five seconds... I'll just rest my eyes for... Five... Seconds..." The haggard harpy thought to herself as she closed her eyes. With exhaustion taking her consciousness, the now limply gliding harpy entered a quick descent; unaware of the rapidly approaching ground.

In the ambassador's suite's garden, Amira's thoughts would no doubt be rudely interrupted by a sudden cracking of branches of a nearby tree, followed by a heavy thud as a particularly colorful harpy suddenly crash landed into the luxurious garden; sending the brightly colored feathers flying all over the place.

Now dirtied, emaciated and with cuts across her face and arms, Triko looked up in confusion; her eyes growing large as Amira's guards were rapidly approaching the possible threat with their weapons drawn. Triko had never seen a naga before, but it didn't take a genius to understand they weren't coming to her help. "Ah! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" The girl cried out, scrambling up onto her trembling feet. Dazed and confused, she turned around and tried to make a running start to fly off again... But her limbs felt like stone and her wings had obviously taken some damage during her fall. She could barely take four steps before she fell to her knees again.

"No, no, no! Please don't hurt me! It was an accident! I didn't mean it!" She cried out, scampering up to the base of the tree and curling up into a ball; her colorful wings wrapping around her trembling body in a defensive gesture.

Triko is quite a handful, often jumping from one exciting thing to the other. Her inquisitive nature also means she's often quite blunt when it comes to subjects that she doesnt understand, which is quite a lot... She's quite the timid creature, making it hard to anger her; though this might also simply be a case of the insults flying right over her head.

Hi! My name's Triko... No, Triko. Yeah, like that. Anyway, this is where I'm supposed to tell you something about myself, I guess? Lets see, euhm, my tribe lives in the big desert bordering the Ke'ano forest. I think we have it pretty nice there, since we even have some trees to nest in! Other tribes only have the tunnels of the desert to work with. I never liked tunnels, too dark and cramped.

My tribe consists of several castes, each performing a duty. We have the Eagle Caste, who are our warriors and protectors. They're really strong and honestly a little scary. And then there's the Owl Caste, who are our leaders, they're like really, really smart! They're also really old and smell a little funny. Me? I'm part of the Paradise Caste! I think we're the best caste! We sing and perform, making others smile and laugh! My mom's the chief of the caste, I'm super proud of that.

I'm a little different though, or very different. See, I can cast magic! The Owls says such a thing only happens every few years and that I'm some kind of good omen. Personally I dont really get it, I just really like casting magic. It made my mom really worried though, since she said the Owls talked about sending me over to the Eagles. I dont really understand why they'd do that, I cant fight, but I'm really good at singing!

Anyway, my mom woke me up one night and told me I had to leave. I was never allowed to fly when it's dark, but that night I could! My mom said I had to fly as far away from the nest as I could, so I could be happy. I did once say I really wanted to see the world, but I still would've liked it if she could come with me. "Always listen to your elders!" to quote the poets, so I flew away. I do hope I can land somewhere soon though, I'm getting hungry...

Appearance
Triko stands at a small 4'9" which is still quite average for a harpy. Probably the first thing anybody notices of Triko is the wild array of bright colors her wings and other feathered parts consist of. These feathers are highly prized among collectors and often make for expensive gifts for nobility. She doesn't have much in the form of musculature, aside from her incredibly powerful legs... Do not get kicked by a harpy, you will not like that.

Triko doesn't really understand politics all that well. But beastkin are generally liked in her old tribe, so she likes those. Oh, and fey are pretty cute, so there's that. And she swore she once saw an Angaria wave at her, though this might've just been a bush.

Abilities
Harpy physique
The most obvious ability of any harpy is the ability to take flight. While nowhere near as agile or gifted as birds, Triko can stay up in the air for a good hour at least; before she needs to take a good long rest. Going as fast as she can, she can reach speeds up to 20mph. Other aspects that cant be ignored are her incredibly powerful talons. Designed to break bones of prey, these sharpened talons have little issues puncturing through armor. And last, but certainly not least, her eyesight is impeccable; allowing her to see things clearly from easily a mile away.

Wind magic
A harpy capable of casting magic is born only every few years and are most often seen as omens of good tidings. Triko can take certain control of the winds, allowing for sudden gusts of wind capable of dislodging a rider from their mount, to casting powerful thunder. The magic is quite unreliable though, as altering the forces of nature arent just done with the snap of a finger. As such, the magic can sometimes do nothing at all, or strike a completely random spot.

Singing
There are few in this world who can sing as well as the Paradise Caste. While nowhere near as hypnotizing as a siren's call, it is often said that everybody should at least hear a Paradise Caste harpy sing once in their life.

Strengths
Flight! I mean, who doesn't want to fly? Her wind magic is also quite potent, if not a bit random at times.

Weaknesses
She has the memory of a... well, bird. And the attention span of one as well. And while her talons are capable of crushing armor as if they're tin cans, dont expect her to fare well in melee.

Lah'yr is a cold, capable assassin; more weapon than person. once given an assignment by the council of Slurce, she will go at it with a zealous dedication. However, when the need arises, she can be just as warm and friendly as any other person, allowing her to snake her way into people's lives without them ever even realizing what might happen to them.

Her one and only personal weakness is her penchant for sweets. Slurce was as bleak in its choice of food as it was in its training, leaving sweets off the table. As such, Lah'yr has developed quite the sweet tooth as a personal indulgence.

Background
I was only 9 years old when I was ripped from my mother's warm embrace. A debt unpaid, the headhunter from Slurce had cautioned. I never saw my parents again.

I was brought to the Citadel of Slurce, the fortress of my new family. It dominates the inhospitable mountains and valleys of the faraway pine forests. It is here where the finest Shadow Elf assassins are groomed. It is here where I met my noble master, Varh'yr and was given a new name; Lah'yr.

Ten years slipped through my fingers without even realizing it. My parents' faces became a distant memory. I was taught martial arts during those years, mastering a variety of weapons. For every shot of a crossbow or throwing knife we missed, we received a lash. We were quick to learn. Master Varh'yr took me as his personal protege during these years, mercilessly grinding me to a perfect blade.

After mastering the arts of death, it was time to master the art of of disappearing. every day we went from combat exercises to lessons destined to turn us into cultured elves, deft at mixing powders and fatal oils, flawlessly citing poets and mingling within the best of society.

Our final lessons were the chief discipline of clan Slurce, necromancy. We knew the art of steel and poisons, now we were expected to learn the art of souls. On our very first lesson we were all handed a small jewel that we would keep on us till the day we died, a soulstone tasked with holding the souls of those we killed. In that same lesson, we were also tasked with capturing our first soul. The slowest to get it were the first victims... I mercilessly cut into my classmate, who'd been with me since the day I first came to the citadel, and captured their soul within my soulstone. Master Varh'yr was very proud of me that day.

Most students of Slurce would become fine, honest assassins. if they were decent, they would make it to 30, maybe 40 years, before getting caught and executed. Only two or three per class would ascend to the rank of Ar'Thnen. Implacable, insatiable killers, the elite Shadow Elves. Master Varh'yr saw this to be my future.

Graduation came with no affair or celebration. It was maser Varh'yr himself who lifted me from my bed one night and handed me a sealed envelope containing my first assignment, the subjugation of a rich family to stop their son from attaining what was his from birth. I felt pride in my master's hand as he bid me a last farewell, before closing the gates of Slurce behind me...

Appearance
Lay'yr stands at 6'7" and has the normal traits you'd expect from a Shadow Elf; pale blue skin and gleaming eyes. Her hair is silver white. Her skin, especially her back, are marred with a variety of scars, ranging from lashes to cuts; inflicted upon her from the grueling years of training at Slurce.

All assassins of Slurce are masters in identifying flora and fauna and distilling these ingredients into dangerous potions or oils, ranging from more harmless uses such as memory loss, to painful inflammation to death.

Necromancy
The chief discipline of Slurce, the capture and manipulation of souls. While nowhere near as varied as true necromancers and certainly not nearly as dangerous, the assassins of Slurce use their Soulstones to capture the souls of those they killed; feeding the stone their power. over time, this jewel will slowly grow more red with the number of souls it consumed. The assassin can employ these souls to his or her use, such as conveying a message or opening magical locks or even attacking opponents. Upon use, the soul is set free.

While possessing a frightening degree of martial prowess, Lay'yr does poorly in group combat and as such is easily overrun and beaten. She also does poorly working together with others, operating lone wolf on nearly all cases.

Might retool her to something less dark and gloomy if the RP takes a more lighthearted approach. Since I cant imagine her and Star ever working together (which, to a point, would be pretty fun to RP).
