Just as Iphigenia finished talking, Monokuma sailed across the auditorium and exploded in midair, showing parts and burning debris everywhere. The exploded bear left a small crater in the center of the audience, surrounded by the eerily smiling, burning cutout students. She decided it would be a perfect scene for a good horror movie if Monokuma hadn’t appeared once again. How cliché.

Making a mental note to come back and inspect the debris, Isis returned her attention to the new bear as it began to address her question. Iphie raised her eyebrows. She was trying to look friendly and helpful, not cold. Of course, she may have overdone it a bit trying to avoid giggling earlier, but it didn’t feel cold to her. Maybe it was the bad joke she made? People always reacted badly to her jokes, but that was one thing she couldn’t help. However, if whoever was behind that bear already saw through her, then that would kind of suck.

“Thanks for assuming I have parents,” commented Isis, wryly. “Very tactful.”

Of course, she didn’t give two shits about what Monokuma could or would do to her parents if they were still alive, but since he went out of his way to seemingly rub it in, she thought it warranted a response.

“Well, now that you’ve made your point that anybody that touches you will be kamikazed to death by… yourself. Let’s just get on with it. Does breaking any of your other rules also result in our ignominious deaths?”

Exactly, Isis is just making conjecture to give people some hope for(although not doing a good job/not being entirely serious by adding her own brand of morbid jokes.)
She doesn't know how long they've been out for, but a rescue is a possibility.

Isis shrugged. They were right, she wasn’t an American, and much of what she knew did come from movies or the internet.

“That’s a good point,” she commented, addressing both Sam and Nika simultaneously. She still kept an eye on Monokuma, in case he did anything unexpected to Gwen. “I’ll admit, most of what I know about SWAT is from action movies. Armed police isn’t really a thing in the UK. But there are certainly helicopter parents with a trigger finger on that emergency telephone number though. You see that kind of funny story on the local news columns every so often.”

Iphie tilted her head a bit, putting a hand to her head. “Once the robot bear is done with us, we should try to find out how long we’ve been unconscious.”

IE, no phone call from son for xx days, wouldn't they get suspicious?

I (and Iphie, in the post I'm about to make) have read silly stories on the paper about helicopter parents that dialed 911 because their son didn't call home one day. That's the extreme, but even normal people would eventually know something's up if they can't reach their friend/family member/coworker.

The police don't care, but our families would. They would call the police if something's up.

Some helicopter parents even dial 911 if they kid doesn't call in a 24 hour time period, and that's in college.
