Name
Minamoto Kenshi

Gender

Ethnicity
Japanese

Born
August 21, 1549

Death
November 19, 1612 (Alternatively July 30, 1570)

Psychological Profile
Kenshi is a youthful, energetic samurai who lived by the concepts of Bushido like all samurai of his age. He is not afraid to give his life and fully expects to die in combat. However, this does not deter him from being cheerful although he despises when people use "dishonorable ways" to win a fight, believing all battles should be fought on equal grounds. Ironically, he uses a matchlock, a very "dishonorable" weapon for a samurai to use in his age, showing that he is hypocritical sometimes.

While he holds himself high due to the position of samurai in feudal Japanese society, he looks down on people who have lack useful skills in war, having respect for people like blacksmiths and strategists while have the utmost respect for warriors who fight for honor. He is a heavy believer in the idea of creating one's destiny and finds the notion of religion and God to be useless and tends to be headstrong because of this, always trying to prove himself.

Backstory
Kenshi was born into the Minamoto family that owned a respectable amount of land in Owari province and was legendary sword fighters who could claim they were the best swordsmen in eastern Japan. He was the third oldest boy and the fourth oldest in general. All of his siblings and him were taught to fight with his brothers training in the use of the katana and the no-dachi while his sisters were given instruction on the naginata.

He, like the rest of his brothers, would be recruited by the Oda clan to fight where he was exposed to guns for the first time. Despite going against the code of Bushido he had been raised on, the favored the gun over his sword. Despite the inaccuracy of the matchlock, he seemed to have been granted by the gods to use it, being the best shots in the entire Oda army. He is still an incredible swordsman however due to his family's genetics and intensive training when he was younger.

With his new found confidence in his gun skill, he felt as if he could kill anyone in a single shot, no matter if they were five feet in front of him or five hundred. In the battle of Anegawa, he nearly met his end, just moving seconds before his unit was peppered with arrows and several of them landed right in front of him. He felt as if something incredible happened. He would survive the battle and the war, going on to serve the Tokugawa Shogunate as a local official in Owari.

However, in another version, he failed to react in time during the battle of Anegawa andwas peppered by arrows. In his last dying breath, he reached towards the sky, and was taken from his time period and given a new chance at life and the ability to go on a journey of epic proportions that went far beyond the west.

@Lennon79 I'm reworking some stuff on my NS, would it be fair to say that you have a pop of 5.5 Million and I have the rest in Guangdong?
<Snipped quote by ClocktowerEchos>

People tend to prefer their own ideas I think, I know I do.

@Lennon79 Idea, how about with all the weapons we've listed for our army we are required to post a percentage number as well? So you know how many modern, old and medieval weapons are present. Maybe we can even go as far as giving a percentage for the armies or divisions we control so you can clevery look at wheter someone accidently send and entire army that has nothing but bows and swords agaist a force with rifles.

Nah, sounds a bit to complex and bound to piss someone off. We can just say we're all using (relatively) modern weaponry and drop the idea of traditional weapons since I was the only person to use them anyways and I'm changing that
To be perfectly honest, the fact everyone has phased out any and all traces traditional units irritates me for some reason >.>
hmm...

I might redo the army and make it mostly modern since that is what basically everyone is doing
Also, something else I've been wondering about, what time is it exactly? 1910? Since if so, some of the weapons that are being used a bit anachronistic.
Contrary to popular belief, the Chinese did use guns by this point XD Classic Banner Armies and such are great for early game, but remember that even China was phasing them out in favour of modern military doctrine at this point. Don't worry, your list is still useful for defining our early armies Clock, but things will modernise pretty quickly.

I know, its mostly for early units and inspiration for later units. I do expect that most of the fighting later on will be gun to gun or gun to cavalry. The list was more or less me shitposting some floating ideas XD

I think I will be make a list of more modern units (or at least try) at some other point.

Also, I added British troops to my army roster but in theory they're only actually part of it if a British outpost gets attacked or Hong Kong comes under siege. Can I keep them or should I pull them out and have it be a rule that people can't attack Europena-owned cities?
Just to add some regional flare to some of the armies so we aren't always pitting grey-shirt rifleman against slighly less grey-shirted rifleman, I made a list of "unique units". These units are meant to only be used by some people/locations based on stuff like culture, ideology, religion. Feel free to use/edit these units as needed if you want to have them in your armies. I'll probably update this again some later time for formatting/adding more units.

Meanwhile, there's a ship that's just made contact with Durandal's civilization, and another doing the same at Clock's civilization. Oh, and President Penelope Kate's frustrated at her nation's inane focus on ship-building rather than, you know, repairing the power infrastructure in their capital city.
