Bjorn "Bloody Eye" Valisfore

Appearance:
While certainly not young, Bjorn, otherwise known as "Bloody Eye" still has some youthful energy kicking about in him. His body build is strong and tall as he towers at well over six feet, his fair skin dirtied by stains of adventure and battle. The fiery beard which adorns Bjorn's chin is roughly braided into two strains as his once golden hair now shines like dulled sunlight as a single braid can be see next to his right eye. Under his armor, scars and bruises are strung about, each one carrying a story he'd tell a friend over a good drink. One of his dark amber eyes is scathed by a long gash and a permeant streak of blood. With a cross between a hunch and a straight, disciplined back, Bjorn gives the aura of strength and war to those around him.

Personality:
Bjorn has seen a lot of war and battle in the course of his life, hardened by it since childhood. From his father, he takes on a warrior spirit and intimidating pose which he sometime uses to rally or lead the greenhorns that may accompany him. His mother however gifted him talented hands, which Bjorn has used for everything form throwing weapons and striking enemies to crafting and repairing bits of his equipment, and a deeply devoted soul to the old gods.

The man himself is a grizzled veteran with a rather harsh teaching style for youngsters. Some who haven't been around him too much say he's overly aggressive or rude. They do compliment his ability to stay level headed and somewhat calm even in dire situations. But to the companions Bjorn has been with, they will tell you that Bjorn loves to tell stories, real and fake, over good food and mead while also being the one man you want to be next to in a fight.

Armor:
Bjron wears what could be said as a "heavy" armor set by viking standards, bits and pieces either looted, bought or gifted to him by his companions and friends. His thick, boiled leather upper torso armor hides a mail coat that goes to mid-thigh and covers his shoulders like a short sleeved shirt. Around his abdomen, it is only chain mail, reinforced with hide and fur strips wrapped around it. A layered leather skirt protects the tops of his legs while his shins are guarded by hardened leather grieves with fur padding, his bracers are of the same material and style. On his right shoulder is a crudely hammer and roughly constructed iron pauldron Bjorn made himself after he took a nasty hit to it in a fight. While he wears no helmet in a fight, he may don a olive hooded cloak in bad weather or travel.

Weapon(s):
The steel long sword which Bjorn carries on his back is his main weapon, a gift from his father that has been passed down the Valisfore bloodline for generations. It is inlaid with bronze and bits of marble, engraved by master smiths and blessed by the pagan priests before Bjorn set off on his journey.

Often paired with his shield is a large wooden round shield of strong and sturdy oak. A bright orange fox pelt, colored like his fiery bread, is draped over the front of it is to give Bjorn the swiftness and cunning of the the animal in his fights. When not in use, it often finds shelter on his back next to his sword.

As for auxiliary weapons, Bjorn sometimes carries a small bag of 4 or 5 javelins with him, holding them in his shield hand before throwing them in a fight. On his hip is a seax which his mother gave him as more of a good luck charm more than anything. Seeing as he survived the trip, it must be working to some degree.

History:
Born to a small time noble warrior and the daughter of a hunter, Bjorn had a fairly stead, if not normal childhood. Minus the training over seen by his father and the raiding trips he took with his elders on occasion. He had been trained in the arts of battle since he could walk and taught how to lead the hearts of men from when he could speak.

As a young man, his adventurous spirit craved the fame and fortune he had seen other legendary warriors obtain. And full of piss and vigor, he set off to leave his mark on the world, joining a warband to put his skills to good use. He made a good living off of it, made a decent name for himself as a warrior and a sailor.

The way young Bjorn would meet his wife, Allila however, was an interesting tail. His wife had always been a, rebellous and wild one would be a good way to put it. Sick of the boring village life forced upon her parents. And when Bjorn and his crew came a knocking one day, Allila saw it as an escape, the ultimate rebellion against the dull parents and life she convinced Bjorn (who at this point was in something of a leadership role) to let her not only to live, but live with him.

Now, some odd twenty years later, she had given birth to two of his children and was now following him once more into a new adventure, one that didn't quite go as either of them had expected.

• Harsh on people, especially inexperienced young blood
• Sword arm is injuries
• Has episodes of extreme pain that leave him bed ridden from his scars

• Not quite as much energy as younger men

Like I said, depending on the map I may not even be in the game (although you did confirm a fantasy map, a map not reflecting multiple demographic regions will also render my interest obsolete).

You can have the Japanese based civilization. I'll just do something else. :)

Hmm... Yamatai had its source from Imperial Japan too...

Would you be willing to work with me to see if we can come up with something interesting? The idea I have might require some knowledge on Japanese history

Can I ask what exactly are you taking inspiration from? I want to see if we can't work something else

I would like to play the Asiatic Empire of Fusan, so long as there is an Asiatic continent in which to do so.

The map I posted above I just made up fairly quickly, but regardless of which map is used (so long as it's not an Earth map), should be fun so long as it is adequately sized and contains a European, African and Asiatic setting.
