Sorry for my absence! A Volunteering position suddenly turned into a Volunteer Leadership position I was not expecting at all so things have been hectic.

Look at you posers, having to bang dragons or sell your soul for magic when you could just play a lute for some. Anyways, here's Wonderwall. - Bards

Sometimes we live in a society. Other times, a society lives in us. Occasionally, society.

Wow Meranda Cosgrove looks way different than I remember her. Also didn't know she switched careers.
>look through the other random bits of crap
I remember I wrote something this for an NRP once. Basically it was styled as the average new to NRP ubernation with a strong, massive military and an all powerful government with no opposition, but I tried to see how those things could feasibly and realistically work. While sure not as dark as Nazi death-for-science summer camps, what I ended up with was a fairly grimdark nation for what was supposed to be a relatively average NRP.

Yes I had a massive army, but that was because I was literally having children, the elderly and the sick go straight into the meat grinder a la Volksstrum style. It was well equipped army but that was because my entire economic industry was geared to warfare out of desperation to the point civilian goods are nearly nonexistent and starvation is a problem. There was no opposition to the government because they brutally removed any such thoughts since the government was just that fragile. Basically they were the arch typical martial pride race before getting their shit stomped in so hard their planet was turned into a wasteland and their species was being hunted with immense hate from just about everyone because of their previous wars and raids.

I guess you could call that one more of a deconstruction, but it did have the whole "survival over ethics" idea behind it. Although I will say the most time I see people using this its rather for smut or talk-out-of-your-ass philosophy of nihilism or absurdism where nothing matters and everything is pointless and boohoo edge, angst and darkness.

@BCTheEntity Looks good but I'm not sure how much of a GM I am for this anymore

Really? Interesting though I could have sworn that it really was a wasteland due to being more Northern mostly. Though, now that I come to think of it the parallel of it being Batavia wanting to leave the Holy Roman Empire and then being hated for it makes a lot of sense.

Norlund and Ostland are the two northern most provinces of the Empire actually and people with Norscan blood are also common up there.

Alright, then the other guy gets those and I get the Wasteland.

Another Question though, can it be not a Wasteland but rather sort of Alpine, kind of like some of Austria/Italy/Finland while to the south is a more continental clime?

The area around Marienburg is called "the Wasteland" not because of its actual terrain but as an insult. Basically because Marienburg became somewhat independent (they're warhammer's netherlands more or less), everyone else in the Empire got salty and just started calling the area around the city "the Wasteland" as a sort of fuck you.

A cold wind followed Tachyon wherever he went, as if he had just opened the stone door to a frozen crypt, as he walked back into town, holding an ominous bundle. Those who passed by him whispered what could such a dark looking man could be carrying with him. Perhaps skulls or flesh for some ritual, maybe ill-gotten golden gains, maybe some gems of dark magic. The fact that cloaked was wearing a tricorn hat that seemed to always cast a shadow over his face, obscuring it from view. No doubt the Landers were even more suspicious as mothers hurried their children past the figure and his gleaming scythe as it made its way to the marketplace, drifting in and out of shadows.

Splitting the crowds with his mere presence, the Adventurer stood in front of a stall selling a variety of alchemical regents maned by Landers although no one was current at the front. Onlookers nervously watched as they made their way past, the dark colors and unsettingly feeling of the man clashing with the brightly colored and vibrant stand, just inches away from the sharp edge of the scythe.

"Someone there?" An old gruff voice spoke from behind a curtain before walking out, towel in gloved hands. His face immediately lit up when he saw the figure in black, "Ahhh! Tachyon! I see you're returned from the bog! You find the things?"

"Yessir." the adventurer removed his hat and cleared his throat, dropping a skull sized burlap bag, "Crypt Fungus, Rotwood, Grave Grass, Feral Bone Dust, everything you said. Minus the Twilight Rose though, I couldn't find it even with the help of my summons."

"Well, you've gone and done yourself a fine job sir. Here's you payment, sugared water and fruits. The work you've done for me and my family is honestly great. I don't think I could have gone in that acurssed swamp myself to fetch these ingredints."

Suddenly, a flash of long blonde hair burst from the curtain and a young girl jumped up into the merchant's arms and saw Tachyon, "Daddy! Daddy! Is he the Adventurer you were talking about?"

"Yes I am." Tachyon put his hat over his heart and bowed slightly, "I've been gathering stuff for people these past few days. It gives me something to do besides sleep and do nothing. The fruits are just welcomed gifts. And who might you be little one?"

"She's my daughter, Anna." the old merchant tickled the girl who burst into laughter and flailing, "She sometimes tags along with me to work, ball of energy aren't ya?"

"Mhm!" Anna gave a big wide smile before putting a finger to her mouth and recalling, "Say, Mr. Adventurer, are you going to be fighting the big monster too?"

"Big monster?" Tachyon tilted his head, a small spark of excitement igniting in him for a brief second before he was dragged in close by the man who let go of his daughter.

"Don't tell anyone else this, but one of the servants of the royal court who sometimes drops by at the orders of the court physician told me that they believe something big is heading towards the city and they've been debating about dragging you Adventurers in to solve it. Don't ask me what it is exactly, I don't know either but the boy told me that he hasn't seen the court in this much panic in a long time. Apparently the King is supposed to make a speech about it as well today."

"Really? You know it to be true?"

"What good does a servant have lying to an old man like me, Necromancer?"

"Hmmm.... do you know any more about this?"

A large crowd began to form as a regally dressed man appeared on a stage from down the lane. Without even saying anything, both men knew what was bout to happen and Tachyon took off immediately. The King's speech was the Lander's nobility attempt at solving the problem of the Oni horde. With little hesitation, Tachyon rose his hand in the air and waved his scythe from the way back, "I will partake in this. If nothing else, it is a break from boredom!"

There was a decent chance he would make himself look like a fool being the first one to volunteer for the task and an equally great chance he'd be one of the few or only ones to do it. However, it didn't bother him all that much for he was doing this to sate his own need of something interesting and altruism. Besides, he could summon his own party if none accepted him.

Maybe the guy just need a coGM or something.

Also if this thing isn't dead yet, would a Cerastus pattern knight having dual thunderstrike guantlets be too far out there?
