Silas Asara

It was clear to Silas that he had made an impression on Zafi, his little trick with the water serpent had only cemented this fact. She was clearly pleased by his performance, the slight smile on her formerly stoic face said that much. Zafi herself didn't seem like a half bad person, she was just a touch... strange, that's all.

Before long Silas was signalled by Zafi to wait. Eager to see what she would come up with, Silas moved himself a little closer and turned so that he could have a full on view of whatever was about to happen. As Zafi placed her hands over her heart Silas couldn't help but think, Hmmm, what elemental could she be? What is she planning to do? I wonder...

It was just a few short moments later that the fruits of her labour would come to be. At first Silas thought the small glitter that had spawned itself on Zafi's palm was just his eyes fooling him, but upon closer inspection it was revealed to be a small, incandescent cinder. That was only the beginning, a few moments later the glowing orb was joined by more sparks like itself, each individual flare glowed like a beacon across the night sky. Every second the light and warmth radiated by the glowing mass would grow as more cinders joined the fold.

" Fire, That... is amazing. I've never seen a fire elementalist befo-"

Before Silas could finish his sentence, he was swallowed by a wave of intense heat and blackened smoke, accidentally inhaling a great deal of the fumes in the process. It felt horrible, the smog forcing him to drop onto his hands and knees and begin coughing profusely. He tried to keep himself from coughing on Zafi, as it wouldn't be retribution, that would just make him an asshole, and a disgusting one at that. I swear if that was intentional...

Eventually he had expelled the soot from his system, and Silas looked up to see the very same girl who conjured the blast attempting to shoo away the aftermath. The difference in height had struck him for the first time, Zafi seemed like a titan from Silas's current angle.

”Pardonnez-moi! Are you broken?! Are you alright?!”

" Broken? Not a chance, at least not yet. Alright? That depends on what you see as alright, you see I did just get shot in the face at close range by a wave of smoke and fire." Silas said in a semi-serious and sarcastic tone before coughing once more. "Okay, hopefully that was the last of it. But seriously, I'm alright"

@Aiyanna Not so much lurking, more so checking the thread from my phone while I was out of the house. But I'm back at my computer now and I have a lot of reading that I must do!

@Aiyanna Better late then never I guess, anyway post is up!

Also as a note I understood the french, Silas did not, he was just complaining because the answer was so long. And the messed up spelling of Zafi's full name was purposefully done.

Silas Asara

As the purple haired girl once more emerged from the safety of her knees Silas couldn't help but feel accomplished as a grin spread across his face. He'd managed to pull the girl out of her self-imposed isolation not once, but twice, and this whole encounter had definitely been one of the most interesting things that had happened today.

”Je m'appelle Zafiriel Marie Louise de Grantaine. Heureux de faire votre connaissance – wait. No.”

The sudden slew of words spoken so rapidly and with almost mechanical precision from the formerly silent girl left Silas stunned, How the hell did someone take a simple question like "What's your name?" and come back with... with all of THAT! Silas' attention was quickly diverted however, as he caught a glimpse of white, wispy steam trailing off into the air. He pondered as to where the source of the vapour was as the girl spoke once more.

”Zafi”, ”Don’t worry. I am not broken.”

Well that's certainly easier to remember than Zafiriel Mary Louis de whatever the hell. Silas thought to himself as he cracked a snide grin... Which was quickly knocked of his face by a blast of something wet, the same steam from before. Not wanting to force Zafi back into seclusion, he merely waved the steam out of the way, albeit a little violently. " Steam..." The sudden burst of vapour reminded Silas of something he had been practicing, quite excitedly Silas announced. Zafi, check this out!" he frantically shuffled in place in order to grab a water bottle he had with him from earlier. Carefully, Silas poured a small amount of water into the palm of his hand as he sat up and began to concentrate.

At first the water was unresponsive, and calm, but as Silas began to focus more and more, the water slowly and gradually began to respond, coalescing into a long thin shape, akin to a worm or snake. The newly formed "snake" then slowly began moving in the direction of Silas's extended fingers, clinging to the side of his index finger as it gradually writhed it's way to the underside of his finger only to emerge on the other side, as the "snake" finished coiling itself around his finger. He held this position for a few seconds, before cupping his other hand underneath the serpent and releasing his hold on the water. The snake quickly lost it's form and fell with a soft splash into his waiting hand. Silas leaned back against the wall and took a deep breath before asking "What did you think of that? If THAT didn't make it obvious I'm a water elementalist. But that's enough of my bragging... for now, anyway what kind of elementalist are you Zafi? "

I am working on a response, it's just taking longer than I'd like it to.

@Aiyanna Haha, don't worry it was the good kind of random. I will openly say that you caught me waaay off guard, your writing was honestly really damn good.

I may be slow but... What did you mean by risky territory?

Whatever you do. Never. Let. Silas. Hear. You. Call. Him. Cute.

That, and there's also because of feelings implied in that post.

Evidently Silas's attempt to get the girls attention had succeeded, she'd even looked up and it seemed that she'd stopped crying, at least for the moment. He'd overheard the teacher's groan and could only assume it was directed at him, Silas sighed and looked over to the teacher to try and salvage the situation. "Look, I just turned the corner and saw a crying girl who had a teacher crouching next to her holding... that." he said as he gestured to the teacher's.... staff? rod? cane? It didn't really matter. His gaze shifted back to the girl "I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything I just kinda, you know assumed the wor-"

”I love your eyes.”

As those words were spoken, Silas's train of thought ground to a screeching halt and a look of confusion quickly spread across his face. The purple haired girl's voice did not match the way she spoke whatsoever, and why the sudden compliment? To say that Silas was confused would be a massive understatement. "U-um thank you? That kind of came out of nowhere. Like we don't even know each other!" he said as he nervously laughed, trying to play off any embarrassment on his end. As he wiped the look off his own face, he looked back down to the girl who had once again withdrawn herself into the solitude of her own legs. "Come on, you can't just say something like that and then run away. Not only that, you still haven't told us what's wrong!" Having nothing better to do, Silas sat next to the purple haired girl and poked her on the arm, he could see the girls eyes, they were azure, like a calm sky. "Look maybe I was being a bit too harsh a second ago, My name's Silas, and you are?"

Zafiriel has embarrassed herself before a teacher and a fellow student. Oh my. I cannot wait for Silas's response! I hope he's not too weirded out. Same goes for Mr Manilow.

So, just as a note I'm reading this before the IC... Oh boy I can't wait to see this

EDIT: Okay, so I just read the post and I don't think words can describe how off-guard that caught me

If the situation was different, Firiel would have thought he was cute.

Silas Asara

Silas found himself wandering through the halls, although he had been quite excited about the Academy the monotonous and boring formalities of the first day had stripped him of his excitement. Well hasn't today been oh so enjoyable! Silas thought to himself, smirking at his own sarcasm. His mild amusement was quickly replaced by boredom as his memories of the day's tedious events washed over him once more.

There was for starters, the train ride, it was long and it bugged Silas as every time the train would pass over a new section of the rail there would be a loud and annoying clicking sound. Not to mention that the station was underground, he hated being underground, but he should've figured that the station would be there. After all, he was heading to the Elemental Academy, of course there would be some connection to the earth.

After the train had finally finished its arduous journey Silas was ecstatic to begin exploring the grounds, only for him to be lead with all the other students into an auditorium where a plethora of pointless speeches were read by the teachers. Silas thought about ditching the snore-fest but the moment he was about to stand up, he caught an infernal gaze from one of the teachers. Deciding that it wouldn't be wise to piss off someone who could immolate you in a heartbeat, Silas sat down and suffered through the teachers lecture on how they were all "the future of the world". Once he and the other students were released from the torment that was the assembly, Silas left quickly to begin exploring.

Silas' quest to find something out of the ordinary was completed quite quickly as he heard a soft sobbing coming from a nearby, mostly vacant hallway. He advanced down the hallway and discovered a purple-haired girl crying and a teacher at her side. He approached the pair and quite bluntly asked: "What the hell happened here?" He focused his gaze on the girl rather than the teacher "If we were at midterms or exam time I'd be breaking down right here with you." Silas said chuckling as he tried to lighten the mood.
