Arcture - Rooftops

Kaito stood atop one of Arcture's taller buildings, taking a moment to study his surroundings carefully. He had arrived later than most of his peers, having spent an extensive amount of time registering his weapons. Particularly, the young shinobi had ensured that every individual shuriken under his possession was registered. How could he be a true hero of justice if he didn't ensure he would remain accountable for everything he would do in this strange and new world? After all, he is a representative of both Silver Gate as well as the Fuuma clan. To be responsible for his own actions was a matter of course.

When Kaito had entered Arcture for the first time, he of course wasted no time in making his way through the sprawling cityscape the only way a true Fuuma shinobi would, leaping from rooftop to rooftop until he was at a high enough vantage point to really take in his surroundings. Orienting himself to the city was important for a variety of reasons, from studying landmarks to knowing the proper routes for faster travel throughout the city. Of course, traversing the city's rooftops also allowed Kaito to ponder on his own, giving ample space for him to be alone with his thoughts.

It wasn't too long since Kaito had been registered to the school. It wasn't quite his choice on the matter, sadly. His parents had chosen this school for him for reasons still unknown to him, despite Kaito's protests. After all, he entered exile of his own volition. Shouldn't he have the right to choose where he would go on his self-imposed sabbatical? It's not like he's a child, either... or at least, he wouldn't be in a year from now. Minor custody laws are truly unjust! As far as his classes have gone so far, Kaito had only focused on improving upon his own physical skills, practicing both with the blade and his fists. The magic classes, however, grated on Kaito. It was nothing like learning ninjutsu, being based more on study and theory. In the end, Kaito held little interest in the mystic arts.

It was issues like these that had Kaito feel like an outcast among his peers, doubly so in this magical land. Aside from ninjutsu, Kaito had no true exposure to magic before, specifically in its most studied form. Arcture was full of individuals saturated with yin, whilst Kaito was undeniably seeping in yang energy. He was well aware that he needed a proper balance of both energies in order to fully utilize ninjutsu. Perhaps it is through his adventures into these lands that Kaito would improve upon his study of the magical arts in order to improve upon his own techniques. If he could improve on his yin, he would be another step closer to being like the great Kotarou.

Speaking of adventures...

Kaito extended the kite from the back of his armor before leaping off the building he was on, allowing the winds to fully extend the rest of the kite. As he would take to the skies, he performed a series of quick hand-signs before controlling his breath, allowing the weight of his armor to decrease just enough for him to soar through the skies. He would glide overhead the main road towards the Adventurer's Guild, making his descent just a few yards away, keeping note of the barrier surrounding the guild house. As he landed, Kaito strapped his kite back into his back before making his way to the guild's entrance. Before he entered the building, he made sure to dust himself off so he would look presentable enough, from combing his hair with his fingers to making sure the lights on his chestpiece were working properly. Once all that was done, Kaito made his entrance, striking a pose.

"The Ironclad Demon of Justice makes his entrance! Fuuma Kaito, here to register!" Kaito pronounced, producing his green badge and holding it outward.

They say that good things come to those who wait.

Indeed, after Nomura had thanked Bolcha for the information, he elected to wait for Donovan's return instead, standing just at the outskirts of the village towards the old temple. If he were a braver man, he would have ventured forth to find Donovan himself. Of course, such a notion was impossible for the man that Nomura was behind the mask, a fiend wanted by a group of fanatic hunters and a supernatural entity. So instead, he waited. Nomura almost thought of actually getting those fishes he had owed a certain fox to pass the time, but instead, he glimpsed at a rather familiar-looking man making his mad dash towards Lady Mie's encampment.

Nomura sighed as he recognized Donovan, not sure if he should feel displeased that Donovan chose to make his job a bit too easy.

Still, Nomura wasn't the type to let an opportunity pass itself by. Making his way back to Lady Mie's camp, he would bow to the Oni meeting Donovan respectfully.

"Ah, don't worry. I'll see to this foreigner myself. If he has any important business, I shall let Lady Mie know personally." Nomura stated, before putting an arm over Donovan almost too familiarly so. "Just follow my lead, Don."

Whether Donovan chose to react or not, Nomura suddenly yanked him away to where they are both just out of earshot of the encampment and, more importantly, the other villagers, using a bit of magic to make his leave swifter. Once that was done, he turned to Donovan with a flourish, removing his mask.

"Ta-da~ It is your trustworthy friend from yesteryore, here to greet you once more!" Malphas almost sung, bowing with a smile. "I'm currently a part of Lady Mie's troupe, with a new identity to boot! I don't wish to bore you with the details of the 'hows' or the 'whys,' but it seems at this very moment, we can help each other.

"If you have business with Lady Mie, I'm sure I can make negotiations between the two of you to your liking, hm? In exchange, I only ask for a simple trade: a fragment of metal with a peculiar engravement on it. Valuable to me, but likely garbage to you. It's traded many hands, and from my investigations, it may be in yours. If you have such an item in your possession, I'd be happy to relieve it of your person. If not..."

Malphas was still unsure if it was Donovan that possessed the item in question or not. He has not heard from that irritating fox, either. Either way, it would be good to cover both bases. If Don did not have the shard, then it would mean the other foxgirl had it, and he would be going towards that direction regardless.

"You seem to have built more rapport with these villagers than I. Perhaps you can fetch me two fishes, instead? Of course, that is assuming you don't have what I'm looking for."

An opportunity to delegate others to do his own tasks is an opportunity Malphas would never shy from.
A dark-skinned man with a wild look in his eyes looked at the group with a grin, his hands in his hypothetical pockets and his primitive raincoat opened to reveal his shirtless and tattooed figure to the world. The markings on his skin seemed to be of a primitive bent, with iconography of wolves scattered about a living canvas. On his back was a rather beastly spear, its keen edge looked as if it thirsted for blood. He leaned on what seemed to be the source of the noise: a monster of darkened iron and fire, a motorcycle that was indeed quite out-of-place in this Eastern landscape. Raising one of his hands to his head, he waved to the group coolly once he was sure his presence was known to them.

"Sup, nerds. Finally got some reliable WiFi. Hope I'm not too late." The man spoke a familiar voice in a somewhat gravelly, almost feral tone. It's as if he growled every so slightly with each word he spoke. "Ah, right. I was supposed to say something about snakes, wasn't I?" He quipped, his tongue turning into that of a serpent's momentarily. Of course, it was clear just who he was to the group.

Leif yawned and stretched as he approached the group, snapping a finger at the motorcycle as if it were some sort of subordinate. "Arion, wait for me at the gate." He ordered, the bike obliging as its engine roared, blazing forth in the blink of an eye. "I played around a bit until I got to a good enough timezone for me to meet up with you all, and I gotta say the mechanics of this game is pretty tight. Riding and fishing feel just like it should be. Tho I gotta say, a bit pissed I got myself locked into the Shaman path. A bit too smelly for my taste."

Leif put his arms behind his head as he reached the group, a bored expression on his face.

"Well, I don't know about you all, but I don't give two shits about the war. Both the major sides look too edgy for my taste. Honestly most of the factions seem kinda lame. That said, if you all have a plan to get on one bandwagon or another, hope you all have fun. I've got my own business to settle."

He took out a symbol from one of his pseudopockets, showing it to the group.

"This look familiar to any of you? I've got a bone to pick with a couple of bastards sporting this thing."

"Ah, he has business with Lady Mie, yes. She told me I should speak to him directly about it." Nomura lied as naturally as he breathed. While it would be helpful to ask for Haruno's help, he's not sure how the Oni would treat poor Donovan if they were to find out the truth. Plus, Nomura himself doesn't know if Mie has kept this a secret to even her Oni or not. Hopefully, this will shake her curiosity off for the time being. Nomura's attention would be grabbed once more at Bolcha's interjection. For some reason, he had a feeling the craftsman would know Donovan. They seemed to be kindred spirits, in some sense. Maybe it's the smell?

"Ah, you have met Donovan too?" Nomura replied to Bolcha, walking over to him if Haruno chose not to stop him further. "Do you have any idea where he may be? I need to speak to him regarding business with Lady Mie. It's quite urgent." He added, before leaning in closer as if to whisper in his ear. "He may be in danger. The sooner I can find him, the better." The matter of whether Nomura truly cared for Donovan's well-being or not is questionable at this time. What is true, however, is Nomura needs to find Donovan and take what he may have stolen from Mie before anyone else could. This may be his last ticket to ensure his safety, after all...

... Oh, and he needs to grab two fishes at some point. But that's on the bottom of his priority.

A hero is never late!
They say you either die a hero, or live long enough to experience the release of High Guardian Spice... or something like that. Anyway, have a totally not wanked sheet.

Nomura scratched his beak as he watched the commotion commence around the village. Whatever's going on, the merchant is happy to comfort himself with the idea that it wasn't his concern... or at least, it shouldn't have been. He doubled back at Mie's tent, watching as another fox girl made her way into it. Seeing as she matched the description of this "Misaki," Nomura pondered if he should go after her or not.

In the end, he decided to just let her go, for now. It seemed she was going into Mie's grasp already, and it'd be much more efficient if he went out to find Donovan, wherever he was. He figured it'd be much easier to just ask him for the heirloom back, given their rapport.

Still, just to make sure, Nomura looked for Ayumi, making eye-contact with the fox before gesturing towards Misaki. Covering more ground would be ideal.

"... Oh? Ah, yes." Nomura looked to Haruno, bowing in return. "Are you familiar with the foreigner called Donovan? He's about this tall, tends to grasp at his precious regions whenever we meet, spoiks loike this. I was going to ask Bolcha if he knew of him, but perhaps you know where he may be?"
