My name is Holden. I’m an old-school roleplayer who, over the years, has found my niche as a light lore, high horror DMing. I’m just coming off a modern cosmic run and am now looking to write more historical roleplay. I am quite proud to say I have kept stories alive for months and years!
I’ve spent time in larger Discord servers, but I’ve learned that I really shine in smaller groups, where the story can be shaped around the characters rather than putting walls on the sandbox. I’m dyslexic, I love a bit of comedy in my narratives, and I never take my OCs too seriously. My go to characters tend to be queer, toxic men, grappling with their idenity and masculinity (usually by over compensating) and I write in a novella leaning but relaxed style. I don’t stress over rigid expectations; I’m here to tell a good story and have a good time.
Outside of RP, I’m a progressive Wisconsinite living in a larger city, where I run an urban farm. My favorite movies and TV are Shape of the Water, Maniac (netflix), breaking bad, Knights of the seven kingdoms, and Everything is Illuminated.

First Mathieu lost her baby, and then two more women followed the same. We didn't blame anyone then. Then the soldiers came. Now we blame them.
A contaminated dirty bomb has gone off quietly. It took weeks for anyone to notice. And now it's marching across France. It's a disease that brings violent madness and sterility, that won't kill in an instant but will destroy humanity in years.

I always start my servers brand new, so there isn't any bias in the social groups. I am queer DM and the server will be a very inclusive place. This will be based on fictionalized war loosely inspired by the German Occupation of France, something that doesn't happen for many years later to unground the history. It will be light lore, focusing on occupation of territory over the ideals that fueled the war. Quality over quantity; all writers should be flexible in posting. Less stress about perfection and get back to enjoyment of writing.
Themes;
Body Horror. Hopelessness. Duty and Survival. Slow-burn dread. Creeping normalcy. Bureaucratic horror. Deteriorating reality. Mundane apocalypse.
Important Notes:
+ Literate.
+ Flexible posting, heavier posting with breathable moments of shorter quicker posting to keep things fluid.
