No worries! Always happy to compromise on things like that particularly when its a very logical request.

Look forward to seeing the sheets!
@Prints Avoid @Rune_Alchemist

Fair enough! Thanks for being so upfront!
I'm more concerned with people that have an issue with the system I'm going to use to gm the game or the storyline rather than character age. I also feel age is probably going to be an issue across this board considering the majority of a posters are probably 18+

The only thing that really would cause an issue with the story is that this must be your first pokemon.
Provided you guys are happy on that score then I'm happy to accept characters of 16-17 to alleviate the issue.

Regardless I'll open the rp to new members, however the above stands to all potential applicants- hope that clarifies.

Hi guys

Thanks for your interest and for your patience (writing an ooc whilst baby sitting is more difficult than I thought)

@tenma tendo as (for lack of a better expression) fastest loser feel free to write up a character. I can certainly handle 4 and it means if any of the others do decide based on my more detailed explanation of the game it's not their bag you can step right in without loosing any time!

@Rune_Alchemist completely understand. I deliberately kept things vague to try and avoid an enormous interest check. I hope I've answered more of your questions in the ooc/ ic. Any questions don't hesitate to get in touch.

@Vongola_Hasayo @Prints Avoid

the ooc is now up here
The Keeper of the Keys

The town was buzzing like a zubat hive. Everywhere he looked people dashed around putting up banners and streamers, engaging in the mindless pomp and ceremony that precluded any town's Biggest Day of the Year. Even inside the normally quiet and relaxed shops, shopkeepers rotated their wares and scrubbed their windows preparing for the big day. In every window, on every banner "Start your Summer Adventure at Sanctuary"

A lot of towns had a ritual to set off budding Pokemon trainers... Lo Town’s was just a little more commercial designed to revive a town that’s off beat location left it perpetually on the brink of financial collapse. You wouldn’t know it today… the town gleamed in the dawn sunlight.

Ken couldn’t help it… he smiled a broad smile under his big bushy white moustache. He remembered his own big day. The day he had caught his first ever Pokemon Kaisa, right here in this little town, over 50 years ago. She had been a Spearow then. He remembered his father’s face as Ken had turned with the pokeball clutched in his hand. The tears of pride in his father's eyes, how his father had rushed to hug both him and his own faithful Hypno (without whom Kaisa could never have been caught). A bond that would link all four of them forevermore

As if in answer to his nostalgia Kaisa swooped past him diving under a half erected banner making an elderly man on a ladder wobble dangerously. He swore loudly turning angrily to shake his fist but he swallowed his anger as he met Ken’s eyes.

“Mornin keeper” he growled with enforced civility.

“Sorry bout that Mo. You know how they get today”. grinned Ken, unable to keep his face level
Mo’s face broke into a wide smile looking fondly down at his own Growlithe happily chasing it’s own tail.

“Aye, that I do”
They remembered it too, he knew it. The day they had found each other!

It was the only explanation for why everyone got so excited on this particular day. He watched Kaisa swoop and roll in the distance, her loud cawing cry echoing through the village. He had travelled the world with Kaisa at his side. He had won the Indigo League with her at his side , cried as she fell still fighting to Karen's Gengar's savage Night Shade. Finally he had retired here with her as Keeper of the Keys.... back to where it all began!

It was a good life! Even though he had no real purpose beyond a famous figurehead; even if he was, technically, defender of the sanctuary. He snorted. Who would try and rob the Sanctuary? There hadn’t been an attempt since its fouding. It was so safe he’d even retired some of his own Pokemon in there.

Nope he opened and shut the doors each day, signed a few autographs and in return he got a nice little cottage on the outskirts of town and enough money to keep his belly growing. Contentedly he rattled the keys in his hand. It was a good day.

Elder Jona was not having a good day. She had a million things to do, her sciatica was playing up and Elder Bloody Algenon had forgotten to arrange collection of the Bloody PokeGears from Saffron City.

“You’re a cretin Algy, a half wit and a fool, how could you forget the PokeGears and why In Ho-Oh’s name are you smiling?”

The old man’s incredibly lined face was crinkled in a wide smile, seemingly impervious to her rage, as he watched his ancient Rattata trying to climb up one of the banner poles to nibble at the fresh rope holding the sign.

“It’s just a wonderful day, isn’t it?”

She gave a half strangled roar of frustration catching the arm of his daughter as she hurried past
“Daisy dear, go into Danny’s copy shop and get him to knock out 50 official looking PokeGear Vouchers. I’ll ring the store- they’ll just have to collect from Saffron.”

She strode over to the Registration table where Elder Priscilla and Elder Robert were snoozing gently in the morning sun. She resisted the urge to wake them with a loud slap to each cheek. They would have a long day ahead.

Grimly she taped a big notice detailing the rules and regulations to the table and stepped back to read them one more time.

1. This event is for first time trainers only. Trainers must present their new registration with the Pokemon League to be entered.
2. Only 1 pokeball can be brought into the Sanctuary… yes we do check.
3. All trainers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who in turn may bring 1 Pokemon.

This event was typically a generational affair but there was always one who tried to sneak an extra pokeball in.... in ways that stunned her limited knowledge of Biology.

She couldn’t help it, even as her own Chansey, reached up to hold her hand she smiled. That buffoon Algy was right it was a wonderful day!
"Start your Pokemon Adventure at Sanctuary"

Thanks for your interest. Please find the ooc below. I've also popped up an original IC post just to give you a little flavour for Lo Town on your arrival.

Please note I have had 5 interested parties for what was originally 3 spots and as such will not be taking further applications at this time

Once we've got our three characters signed and sealed I'll put up a second post just to guide you through registration. What you don't realise yet is spots are at a premium with only 25 new trainers getting their first Pokemon today- so you better hurry!

After registration I'll give you guys a post or two to bed in, meet (if you want) or just wander around Lo Town- we've got everything for all your Pokemon needs (sponsered by the Lo Town Chamber of Commerce) and then we'll get you cracking on getting that first Pokemon.

HEY STRANGER! COME ON IN!
Your very own Pokemon adventure is about to begin!

Lo Town is a town almost equidistant between 3 of the major cities in Kanto (Saffron, Celadon and Cerulean); sitting snugly close to the foot of Mount Moon. The town is your typical Pokemon town with a Pokemon Center, Mart and Police Station, oh and of course

The Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is ingrained in the history of Lo Town beginning when the richest family in the town built Croup Manor. Business thrived however their money was frittered away as they attempted to create their own route into Mount Moon to pull trade from Pewter City through Lo Town. Sadly, despite huge investment, no reward and with their money gone the family was forced to abandon the manor with debts unpaid and many people making dark threats of what would happen if they dared to return.

Croup Manor fell into disrepair but then the Pokemon came. First in a trickle then in a flood, wild pokemon and abandoned Pokemon came to inhabit the house and play in the wild grass. It seemed to happen overnight, the overgrown grass was trimmed, the crumbling walls were rebuilt thick and strong, the windows bright and sparkling. Croup Manor was returned to its former glory and maintained entirely by Pokemon.

Firstly people came just to visit this novelty and the Pokemon assented as gracious hosts happy to allow people into their home. Then the trainers came hearing rumours of the strength of the Pokemon residing in Croup Manor and everything changed. With only the weakest Pokemon, unwanted and rejected, left to tend its walls the house crumbled again into disuse and disrepair once more, the Pokemon within dejected and downtrodden.

In Lo Town, a meeting of town elders agreed that something must be done. Croup Manor was subsequently renamed and registered as The Official Pokemon Sanctuary making it illegal for Pokemon to be caught in its grounds with one exception. Each year on the first day of summer, it would open its door as a place for young trainers to be guided through catching their first Pokemon before starting their own Pokemon journey.

For years you’ve been waiting for your parents to take you to Sanctuary just as their parents did.

Now finally- this year is your year! Surely nothing could ruin your perfect day?

What I'm looking for

I’m looking for 2-3 people to take the roles of young trainers ready to capture their first Pokemon at the Sanctuary and begin a Pokemon Journey starting in Kanto.
I’m looking for high casual writers
Post rate of once a week
General RP courtesy, be good to your fellow rpers, respect my role as the gm and lets have a great bit of fun building a story for ourselves

What I'm offering you

A good old Pokemon adventure that will evolve as time goes on starting with the original Kanto Pokedex and basic trainer techniques and expanding as we visit other territories and your characters and Pokemon get more powerful.

Beyond the pursuit of badges and new and exciting Pokemon I have a rival style story-line whilst I'll also throw some fights and characters from both games and the TV series into the mix. Remember people: I like shorts they are comfortable and easy to wear!

As much as I'd love to free form this RP I'd like to keep it contained to ensure everyone is moving at a similar pace particularly if you split off in different directions (which you are very welcome to do). So in between key points, for example when you travel from place to place, I'll be the person throwing Pokemon and Trainers at you using a simple dice system to keep things fair.

Remember:you're always welcome to drop me a line in the ooc/pm if you've got something you really want to do. I'm really happy to work with you to make the best rp possible for all of us.

Hope that all makes sense!

Interested/any questions- drop a post in here! Thanks for reading!

Ring Name: Big Ben

Gimmick: In transition between British Gent and British Football Hooligan.

Since his arrival in the US 4 years ago Big Ben has been a typical British Gent pacing the ring with icy disdain. He has attempted to be suave and debonair however he is just a little too tall to pull it off. Nevertheless he acts with haughty disdain entering in a full suit before ripping it off to reveal union jack shorts and knee pads.

With the recent rise in football hooliganism, with riots so bad news has made its way across an ocean, Big Ben was requested to adapt his gimmick to keep up with the times and to also appear a little more believable. With news report of mass mobs, stabbings this is a gimmick that more fits Big Ben's physical profile.

This new gimmick is yet to be debuted but a few planned gimmicks include an explanation to silly Americans that it's football not soccer, an explanation of why baseball is a girls game and a deconstruction of the similarities between American Beer and Rat Piss. None of these are intended to be well received.

Alignment: Heel

Age/Height/Weight/Hometown: 28/ 6ft 8 inches/ 280 lbs/ London (actually from Manchester)

Entrance Theme: Anarchy in the UK (starting at Righttt Nowwww)

Finisher and Signature Moves:

Signature: Tea Time
Standing holding his opponent against the ropes Ben appeals to the crowd shouting- What time is it?
The sound of Big Ben chiming sounds through the building and you hear 5 chimes. On each of the first 4 chimes Ben unleashes a devastating strike to his opponent against the rope with a short arm clothesline on the 5th chime.

Signature: London's burning
Essentially an armbreaker

Finisher: Top Corner
With his opponent on the ground Ben retreats two paces as if lining up a penalty kicks. As his opponent pushes himself up Ben runs up to boot him full in the face before celebrating in true football (soccer) fashion.

In-Ring Style: Big Ben has always been a slow grappling powerhouse that grinds his opponent down however the intention is for him to up the tempo a little in future matches with more striking. His new gimmick means there will be more use of weapons and dishonourable tactics going forward

Tale of the Tape: Though there has been nothing notable about Ben's wrestling career beyond a high winning record and a generally good reception he did during his first years in America star in 4-5 incredibly low budget films.

Real Name: Ben Addison

Backstage Bio: Ben was brought up on old fashioned British Wrestling which was devoted to clean catch wrestling. He remembers it romantically, watching it in front of the rich kid at the end of the street's TV, remembering his awe and delight at the grace and power with which these behemoths moved. It struck a chord with him and he knew it was what he wanted to do.

Nevertheless as he grew up the move of British Wrestling toward enormous weight and big personalities with the presence of huge wrestlers like Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks meant that Big Ben's pro career in the UK was short lived. A talented amateur that started wrestling in his late teens he burst through the amateur scene and was quickly offered a pro contract with an upcoming promoter in North Manchester. Winning his first 3 pro fights against guys of similar size and weight he was offered a high profile televised fight against almost a man almost 100 pounds heavier which stunted his repertoire. Unable to life and constrained to a ground assault only the fight was considered a dull flop until Ben was choke slammed and pinned. After that fight his career dwindled and he moved between promoters over the next few years.

Even at the tender age of 24, with no money coming in and promoters offering him low to unpaid work Ben had a call to make. Torn between loosing his dream of professional wrestling and finding a trade Ben pushed all his savings (and a significant chunk of his parents) to travel to America to begin again.

Beginning again was a struggle and Ben worked hours in jobs he hopes he will never have to do again just to keep himself in food and supplements. Nevertheless inch by inch he worked himself from the gutter. Under the new guise of Big Ben under a British Gimmick he has begun again and over the last 4 years has worked tirelessly to rebuild his image finally earning himself a place on the WWA roster.

In-Ring Skills/Reputation: Ben has been wrestling for 10 years (3 years amateur, 3 years pro UK, 4 years pro US) and is a technically solid Wrestler. Ben's best trait is that he is focused on giving the crowd a show be that through posturing or damn good wrestling. This makes him a consummate professional and a giving performer more than happy to take a plunge for a good story.

His weakness comes in a lack of functional strength and though large he struggles to lift above his body weight. He struggles to come to terms with this weakness and will occasionally take on moves that are just too much for him with dire consequences. He requires a firm hand to partner that will gently curtail his occasional flirtations with the impossible.

Mic Skills/Reputation: Ben is a crowdpleaser and happily plays to his audience. He is as happy being hated as he is being loved however the child in him still harbours a dream of raising a belt in front of a cheering crowd. He rigorously prepares his material in advance to make his speech as malicious or stirring as possible and is not the best at adapting to change tending to respond to surprises with quick and ruthless violence.

Backstage Reputation: Everyone is well aware Ben is all about the show and the fans however that can lead him into moves that though good entertainment may not be the best for his career. On the other hand some acts may enjoy his professional and unselfish attitude or dislike the risk that comes if he goes for the spectacular.

Motivation: Though Ben is in this for his love of wrestling and the fame and glory he associates with it Ben is in the WWA because of Sonny. Sonny gave him his first big break after coming to America. Even though the job was lower paid than another offer he received Ben took this job in an attempt to give a little back

Hindrance: Inability to take criticism. Ben really struggles to take advice even from older hands. He takes criticism of his performance very personally and this means he does not learn from his mistakes/ creates enemies when there was no need.
If you guys are still accepting I'll start making a character :)
Id be interested in a pokemon or hunger games rp so feel free to drop me a message :)
