I got a Candy Cane-o-gram today and I must say, it got me misty-eyed. Don’t know who sent it, but thank you.

Bio

Howdy. I'm Dee. Been tabletop RP'ing since '90 (D&D 2, 3, 3.5, 5e, Rifts, Palladium, D20, Pathfinder, Shadowrun, Vampire, Mutant: Year Zero / Genlab Alpha) and writing collaborative fiction for nearly ten years (JvS, represent!) In my day-to-day existence, I'm a theatre technician, a Technical Director, a parent, I tend to work too much -- and writing is my escape. I take it pretty seriously.

I'm a pretty big fan of Sci-Fi (but I'm pretty selective about what I read,) Post Apocalyptica, certain Fantasy works (though I prefer my sword-and-sorcery via tabletop...) and Zombies. Used to watch a lot of movies, and read a lot, but having a three-year-old stymies that quite a bit. (2025 edit: the three year old is now eleven!)

Some character inspirations: Harry Callahan, Max Rockatansky, William Munny, Snake Plissken, Tyler Durden, Cpl. Hudson (RIP,) Severen (RIP,) Peter Venkman, Malcolm Reynolds, Han Solo (to be continued...)

I tend to look for small groups of dedicated, talented writers who post regularly and love the unknown of spontaneous or semi-planned RP. Hit me up with ideas!

Dang, Arya… I’m gonna have to “re-like “your character sheet. I’m always wild by your ability to format. Not something that’s in my skillset.
Love it, Arya! I have som fairly specific ideas… was going to use Inkarnate to make us a map, but I want to see what you’ve got! (I may have notes!)
Loving everyone’s characters! Artwork, too! (Arya, you must have some crazy-good AI prompts to generate something that awesome.)
I just aged JJ up to 10 (11 in September!!) … Try as I might to emulate a nine year-old, I feel like I would be asking the character to be more mature than is possible.

… One year makes all the difference in the world, right?
OK. Well. I wasn't told I'm not in, so I'll get to work on a CS soon and you can just tell me if I should stop.

I can't tell you nothin' from noplace, no-how. I'm only nine-and-three-quarters.
Day One.

Camp Wyaconda, on the shores of Shady Lake. Tall Red Pines, a carpet of soft needles underfoot. For about half the summer, a family camp (picture shuffleboard, paddle tennis -- which is not ping pong, no matter what Megs fibbed to me, central dining hall, craft hall, tuck shop, and lots of activities.) The other half of the summer, a sleep-away camp for tweens (think... well, the same, but without the families.) A little over a hundred kids from all over, rammed together in bunkies. Some for a week, others for two months. The inscription on the JP hut says Wyaconda originated as a Boy-scout camp in the late 'teens. Lots of pictures of happy kids holding canoe paddles on the dining hall wall.

The sort of place that forges fast friendships, and "builds character." (My Dad's words. Not mine.)

Checklist:
-get my 'red lanyard' (a piece of gimp that one could wear as a necklace -- but which I think I'll wear as an anklet!) which denotes the ability of swim unsupervised off the 'big dock.'
-learn to windsurf. ('yeah, right,' says Megs.)
-stay up all night.
-come home with at least four new skills. (Mom's idea, but not a bad one.)
-make a friend.
Well I suppose what I ought to do is create an actual thread for this in the RP boards, not just in the interest checks area. That way we’d have a place to upload CS, and have an OOC. I’ll get that done tonight.
Hi @KillamriX08, I think we have Lady Arya, Ducksworth, Shanky, Stryder and myself currently. I'd be happy to take on another, but I think if I did, then I might then call it 'closed.' I might even step back into a GM-only role, in order to keep the party to five. Maybe. Six seems to be a tipping point where it starts to become unwieldy. Undecided whether I'd just GM, or play a role too.
