Although in all seriousness I already have someone who I picked to play a big bad, he's pretty trustworthy and I know he will attempt to make it fun for everyone.

Okay I'm interested. But I got a few ideas to run by you so I know they are allowed (or which ones are and which ones aren't)

So my first idea was to make a none-organic life form. They would look humanoid to a point though would mostly form around a central crystal emitting a strange kind of energy (magic). They aren't completely made out of energy, so they can still be killed. Though 'destroyed' might be a better term.

Another idea is pretty much a completely synthetic life form. AKA robots. Though they wouldn't be after killing every organic civilization out there. If you're familiar with Mass Effect, I'd make them like the Geth.

Both are acceptable, so long as the Geth don't go on a campaign to murder all organics.

I tend to prefer casual, but I will keep an eye on this; I have three concepts, which if I end up actually joining this I will go to the idea least neglected :)

Edit:And even if Earth/Sol is unknown, since my faction I guess is technically the main human faction, would probably be taking it.

Well when I say vanished, it still exists, it just that no one knows it is the Sol System or Earth, as knowledge of it was lost in several dark periods in human history.

Does it have to be centered around Sol?

Also, is there an established human faction as of yet? As in a player as the core-human group controlling earth and setting the origin?

Earth(and it's associated history) has disappeared from the current galaxy. There is a "main" human faction, but it and it's various incarnations have existed for thousands of years.
