Culture makes light of everything, it's not just Dervish. Hollywood makes light of drinking and drug addiction, promiscuity, irresponsible behavior, violence, etc. It makes people feel better about themselves.

I'm pretty sure most 'raunchy' comedies cover all of those bases.
